After Jake and Alice had closed the door and walked out of the small house, Jake hurtled past her like a high-speed train.
Alice was only trying to catch up with Jake for several minutes though she was a fast walker. Jake walked briskly, his strides long as that of an 8-foot high brakyen demon. His anger and frustration propelled his body to walk around mindlessly as he kept trying to stop the tears from falling down, dabbing at his eyes with the back of his sleeve.
He had spent days waiting for Zara to get up, fighting his way through the numerous obstacles to meet the supreme healer and demand an audience, only to find out that Jake had reached the higher ranks far sooner than he could ever be, thanks to his powerful father.
Jake couldn't or rather wouldn't use his father's name so easily. It wasn't good to drag the name of an archangel everywhere. Especially, when Gabriel wasn't all too pleased with his son's progress on the matter of the celestial weapon.
