"...And Lori has got the ball, she's running it downfield, what is she gonna do now?" I narrated as I made a beeline to the goal. And then suddenly in a blink of an eye, I'm rolling on the ground.
"And she doesn't score, THE CROWD GOES WILD! For that amazing defense by the handsome JULIAN!!" as I look up I see Julius pinning me between himself and the ground.
"FOUL! That is such a foul!" I said barely being able to get the words out from laughing so hard.
Julian chuckled before grabbing my hand and pulling me to my feet. He then stared straight into my eyes and inched closer to me. "You said there were no rules" He smirked, "so technically, That was a legal play."
I scoff before I pounce on him, and take the ball from him before I throw it into the goal. "Lori takes the ball and she shoots AND SHE SCORES. The defense was no match FOR her." I said and smirk before I leaned into his ear and whispered. "Suck it."
Just as I started lifting myself off the ground, I was suddenly pinned against the grass once more. "Not so fast missy, say sorry to my back." Julian smugly said.
"No way, you apologize first," I smirked as I started kicking at him.
"Hey, Lori it's..."
The new voice made us whip our heads around to see my mother standing at the sliding door. "Oh?" she said before smirking, "I was gonna say we should head home, but you seem to be busy."
Julian looks at me and I look at Julian before we both jump up and say in unison "It's not like that"
"Not like what? What are you 2 thinking about." She said teasingly as she started heading back inside. "I'll tell your father, you'll come home later," she poked fun at before winking and leaving.
Julian and I look at each other before bursting out into laughter and saying our goodnights. I started walking home, completely forgetting about why I was upset earlier in the evening.
The next morning I woke up and started getting ready when suddenly my door opened. Surprised, I looked up and saw my mom. "Hey Lauren, do you know where...you can't possibly be wearing that to school," she said mortified.
I looked down and looked back up at her, what's wrong with this? I thought to myself. It's my usual jeans and a t-shirt. "Oh, all these years of me not being around meant your father had to dress you." she said dramatically, "Here let me look through your closet, and I'll pick something for you."
"I really don't..." before I could finish she was already flipping through my closet. Why did I think she had changed at all? "Oh, it's all the same, just the same t-shirt and the same pair of jeans. Ok, wait here I'm going to grab you something from my closet, and then after school, I'm taking you shopping."
"Can't I have practice and I have to meet my manager," I said unamused. The little money I have saved I'm not trying to spend on clothes I'm not going to be wearing.
"Ok I'll go shopping for you then," she said before literally skipping to her room.
