"Annnnd cut," Kaiya said.
"Don't you think this next episode will be awesome?" Mallory said excitedly.
"Yay, we will have to be careful though even if the story is fake. We don't want to run into any wild animals, Especially, not a grizzly bear," Kaiya said with worry in her voice.
"You're right," Mallory agreed with quite a bit of complaint. And with that, the bus stop and the driver said "Oak-Green last stop"
"Finally we're here, I felt like I was stuck in a birdcage," Mallory said as the small bus disappeared into the crimson distance.
"Well we should head to the hotel, it's starting to get late. We can start recording tomorrow, ok." Kiaya said in her mothering tone, making Mallory reluctantly agree.
At the hotel, they checked in and got to room 13.
"So what exactly are we going to put on our next vid," Kiaya said.
"Well, a ghost of course! Gives the audience what they want!" Mallory replied
"Yeeaahh…..of course, ghost exists," Kiaya said in the most dramatic and sarcastic tone she could muster.
" I'm glad we're on the same page. I was worried that you were going to say that ghosts don't exist." Mallory said in an excited tone, and with that, they went to bed.
In the morning Mallory and Kiaya hiked to the forest, mostly sticking to the edge of it.
"Welcome back to Mallory's small-town mysteries. I'm glad you could join us for this exclusive take on the Pale Forest and the mystery that lie within it," Mallory said trying to create mystery in his voice. "This here is the Mysteries, the creepy, the.."
"Just get on with it," Kiaya said
"Fine, I'll GET ON WITH IT! This is the Pale Forest where ghost rome free and where no one came out alive. We'll be asking the locals to see if they know anything about this strange forest." Mallory continued in a slightly less mysterious voice. They started off towards the town to ask as many questions as they could.
Mallory started off his first interview with a lady he found on a park bench.
"This is…?"
With a sai she said. "It's Brenda"
"So Brenda would you say that something mysterious is going on in this small town?" Mallory started with hope in his voice
"No," Brenda said in a harder voice. Mallory looked down in disappointment but quickly bounced back with more questions like " Have you ever been near the forest." "Do you believe in ghosts?" "Does anything weird happen in town?" Not even giving a chance for her to respond till he drove her off with his numerous questions. They continue their search for answers but it seems to be to no avail barely getting one or two answers. By the end of the day they only learned that the town was founded in 1921, that the town was not founded on an ancient burial nor was the forest, and finally, we know where the best restaurant in town was. But past that nothing, nada, zilch, zero. So they weren't doing too well. As they walked back to the hotel Mallory said: "Hopefully, we will do better tomorrow." Once back at the hotel they both quickly fell asleep. In the middle of the night, Kiaya was woken up by the window shuddering in the wind but as soon as she looked outside the window the mysterious wind appeared to stop. When she started to look around a little more she saw a small white figure swiftly go around the corner. But it is in the middle of the night she thought that she was just imagining things and went back to sleep but that strange figure still lingering in her head.
In the morning they started to pack up for that day so that they could go out and hopefully get a few more answers about the forest and the ghost that supposedly Inhabited it.
In town they continue to ask questions, hoping to find more answers. After five hours of looking they stopped to take a break. Kiaya thought about what she saw last night and how if nothing else it would probably boost Mallory spirits, so she told him all about what she thought she saw but warned him that she might have just imagined it instead of actually seeing it. But none the less Mallory immediately started interrogating her. Asking her question after question, but she was unable to answer a single one. Mallory was saddened but he still did not give up hope.
After another loooong day of searching for clues they were exhausted they went over their findings once more but it seems that they had just started another wild goose chase and another disappointment. There only clues being that there were several different sighting of ghosts by what seems to be some of the most unreliable sources, a list of things that we know for sure that aren't true, and a list of people that could have possibly gone into the woods. So not a ton of things to go off of but it progressed no matter how insignificant it seems.
"Mallory I feel as if we're in another one of those mysteries circle, It suks," kiaya said feeling full of doubt
"I understand, but I'm thinking maybe if we got close to the forest that we might be able to find more about it maybe we might even get a few more ghost sightings. So you can't give up so soon we will be able to find these ghosts!" Mallory said trying and succeeding in cheering up kiaya, and off to bed, they went.
On the third morning of their search for ghosts, they headed to the pale forest where they hoped to find a real bonafide ghost.
"We're finally here. Now we need to start searching around. Don't leave any stone left unturned." Mallory in an excited tone.
"Yep no stone left un…" kiaya started but then was intrepid by a fall straight into the woods "Aaaa" she screamed as she fell.
"Kiaya are you ok," Mallory shouted down to kiaya.
"I'm fine just a bit shaken up I'll climb up, wait there." Kiaya said but as she started to stand up a sharp pain shot through her ankle "Ouw!" She screamed
Mallory slid down in Kiaya she had twisted her ankle and she couldn't walk on it anymore but when they were about to start there what back up to the felled the place where they had been previously standing was gone but they didn't move an inch. They now understudied why people got lost in the pale forest.
