the night was chilly and I would have rather stayed inside but I couldn't sleep. Not after what happened last night. It was a night I would never forget, but that was the problem. I needed to forget, so here I am walking in the dead of night in the woods. The fresh air helped clear my head a little, and the sounds of owls hooting and wolves howling calmed me. yes, for any normal person it would have been anything but calming but I was unique in that way. Ever since I was little animals came to me out of curiosity and became friends with me. I felt peace whenever I was around them and for some strange reason I could understand them. I know another human being would never understand this connection I had but I didn't care. I didn't care for people in general, especially after last night.
As I meandered up the hill I noticed something I had never noticed before. Giant stones which seemed to glow in the dark and emit a mysterious aura. for some reason I felt drawn to them. How did I not notice these before?
"Bella! Bella!" My aunt called to me in the dark, but I hid behind the stones. My aunt was trying to marry me off, and it didn't matter how many times I told her to back off. She just wouldn't take no for an answer. After my mom died she adopted me, but only worth sinister plans in mind. I wanted nothing more than to just go away forever and live my own life, but that possibility seemed impossible right now. I wasn't quite 18 yet, so she was still my legal guardian.
I could hear her footsteps as she drew nearer, and prayed she just leave me alone.
