Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The new world and Lith

As soon as Vigerřamous soul fragment entered Alex's soul, Alex's injuries were healed instantly.

"Now that this is out the way, where am I? How am I able to get here?" Alex asked while touching the areas of his previous injuries.

"You are currently on Echo; it's the tenth world in the neon universe," Star replied, shaking Alex's conscious.

"Earth, where you are from, is the first world within the neon universe and the weakest world known by far. The neon universe is made up of ten worlds. These worlds are known as starter worlds and are under an alliance of gods known as the Supreme protection. There is only one universe like this. There are 40 other worlds within the mortal realm.  Worlds are numbered based on the amount of mana and resources present, the inhabitants' ability, and other peculiar traits. Earth is listed as number one (1) and is heavenly protected because it is a world without mana. Hence, its inhabitants can not use any element or have any mythical ability."

"Echo, on the other hand, has mana, and its inhabitants can use various elements, sub-elements, or lesser elements depending on their elemental affinity. Echo inhabitants are primarily humans. Beyond the neon universe, there are many other life forms, such as elves,beast-men, mythical creatures, Demi-gods, half-breeds, and many more.

You are currently on the continent known as leaf storm, in the Ash kingdom, governed mostly by humans. You are able to transfer to this world because engrained in your soul is a drift insignia. Once your physical body dies, your soul will drift to another vacant body in any world." Star stated, pausing for a minute to allow Alex to digest what he just said.

"So, you're saying that I am immortal?" Alex questioned in disbelief.

"Immortal? No, to be an immortal means you can defy death to an extent! You, on the other hand, escaped it because your soul drifted when your body died. This doesn't make you an immortal; if you were to receive a soul attack or a curse, you would have died instantly. As long as your soul isn't attacked, you will survive. I do want to know how did you receive such an insignia?" Star asked, peeking into Alex's thoughts.

"How would I know?" Alex replied. "Go back to the piece about immortals," Alex said, trying to understand his situation.

"To be immortal requires strength and understanding of the Life and death, which you are a long way from. Furthermore, no one is truly immortal," Vigerřamous replied mockingly, "even gods can die if you have the right tool!"

"What is mana?" Alex asked.

"Mana is a type of energy that allows you to use various elements. Essentially, it is the world's energy. Humans, elves, and beast-man take in the world's energy converted to mana by their nebula and stored in their mana core, enabling them to use the elements. A mana core can be found near the lower center of any life form abdominal region. Demi-gods and mythical creatures do not need to take the world's energy since their bodies naturally produce mana in their mana core. They also do not have nebula like humans. Some Demi-gods can use multiple forms of energy, but again, it is rare to meet the children of a god in the lower worlds within the realm of mortals."

"What is the realm of mortals? How did you become a god? Why are you hiding if you're a god?" Alex skeptically inquired.

"I was born a god! there are five realms. ahhhhhh I will give you the long story another time when you are stronger; it will be daylight in seven hours. You should take the time to understand your situation and how you plan to get out of it. I will trigger the memories of Lith, the original body owner, which will be slightly painful. Remember, we don't need unwanted attention." Star added.

As Lith's memoirs were triggered, Alex started raving in pain. Muffled grunts escaped his lips as he watched Lith's memories pass thru his mind like he was at a cinema.

---------

On Echo, Lith was a commoner. His mother, a farmer's daughter, Rose, died giving birth to him sixteen years ago. His despicable bastard of a father, James Markson, a noble with the lowest noble title, lord, refused to acknowledge Lith as his son ever since his inception. The noble title of lord was given to those that performed well when the human kingdom was in a crisis. The title does not provide any benefits except differentiate noble from commoners and provide little land.

Poised with the notion that Rose, a brothel girl, was someone using her pregnancy as an opportunity, pining to get close to him because of his title, he neglected Lith. Rose was considered nothing more than a casual fling. James already had three wives. But a girl raised on a farm, danced in a brothel, could dream, can't she? Her sister (not blood-related) married a knight; maybe she could marry a lord. But things didn't go as planned; Hurt from the rejection, rose died after giving birth. Leaving Lith, the remaining evidence of Jame's infidelity and an eyesore for his barren first wife. Lith was raised by his aunt (no blood relation), Jewel wright.

James already had three sons, all of whom were older than Lith. Lith could not use mana which further cemented James's delusional denial that he was not Lith's father. Lith's step-sibling showed nothing but disdain for him. Lith was consistently bullied; his childhood was nothing but suffering. There was never a favorable moment in his memory that didn't include his aunt. Lith's aunt was his only family and the second wife of a Knight.

The title Knight is higher than that of a Lord but lower than a baron. The title of Knight is given to those that graduated from the Knight Academy and have signed a pact to remain loyal to the kingdom of Ash. Lith hoped to attend the Knights academy to escape his suffering, but despicable people had other plans. At sixteen, his father and Baron Waterfield framed him for sexual assault to protect their children and avoid alienating themselves with the Viscount. Under the king's banner, the Viscount was the ruler of Saint Rothen town. Which was a beautiful place; it looked like Mykonos, Greece, back on Earth. The city was situated on a mountain, making it even more breathtaking at night. Every building was painted white, except those belonging to nobles, whose homes were painted gold. Saint Rothen town was vast; most of the population were commoners. There were probably less than ten thousand people of nobility in Saint Rothen city. which is the twelfth largest of thirty-six towns and cities in the Ash kingdoms. The title viscount and Baron can be passed to the first son but not the title of a lord.

The Baron's daughter, Alice Waterfield, betrothed to the first son of Viscount Bray of Saint Rothen town proved to be nothing more than a Slut. Since thirteen, Alice Waterfield and James Markson's first son, Wallace, have been engaged in lustful adultery. If known, this would be a horrendous scandal that could alienate each other families for years. Even though adultery and polygamy are standard practices in Echo, this was horrendous for the first wife of any man.

Just knowing that your first wife, betrothed to you since the age of five, has been spreading her legs for some other man could make you explode with anger. You would probably kill her! If she felt an itch, why didn't she come to you, so you could help her scratch it? Are You not her betrothed since the age of five?

But how would you know? The only way of finding out is on your wedding night, and then it would be too late to do anything logical.

You would probably kill her to cover up the shame of being a cuckold. She might have an 'accidental' fall down the stairs. Who would say she didn't fall? How do they know what went on in your house at night?

(Start of pretend dialogue)

"Fuck, I said she fell down the stairs, so she did!"

"so why are her face and body purple and blue?"

"she rolled down those bad boys hitting each one with impact! Tremendous impact!"

"why is she missing an ear?"

"Why are you asking so many questions? You want to roll down those bad boys too?"😂😂

"no, sir, you're right; she fell down the stairs!"😂😂😂

(End of pretend dialogue)

But, if she tells him, he would want details, why, who, and when. What woman in her right mind would say to her betrothed of eleven years, who would most likely inherit the title of Viscount, that she cheated on him with the son of a lord, eight years into their betrothment?

"With the son of a lord?"

The son of a lord who is essentially a commoner, just like her.

It would take courage and hidden balls of steel for any woman to tell her future husband!'

She would be lucky if she was just abandoned.

The reason behind her disengagement would be known, and her reputation dragged in mud; all thirty-six human kingdoms would know of this matter and brand her an idiot!

Calling her a slut would be too insulting to other slut's to share the same category. Even they would know who to pick between a lord's son and Viscount!

To protect his daughter and his own reputation, Baron Waterfield used Lith as a scapegoat. With the "consent" of lord James Markson and the incentive to save his own reputation and the neck of his first son. The lord conjured a story that Lith sexually assaulted the Baron's daughter to entrap him hoping to alienate him and his entire family and ruin his relationship with the viscounts and barons. This was the first time he acknowledged Lith was his son to tell a believable tale of schemes. In his father's absence, Lith was taken to jail without question by the Viscount's first son, Ives Bray. Ives ensured Lith got no food and abused to please his betrothed. The Viscount's son would not let Lith go for raping his woman or making him look like a fool. They could not execute Lith without a trial, nor in the absence of the Viscount.

There was also Christopher wright, Lith's aunt's husband, a knight who has a strong friendship with viscount Bray.

Although Christopher wright didn't like Lith, he tolerated him because Jewel adored Lith.

---------------------

All of Lith's Memories flashed in Alex's mind in thirty seconds, causing him to sigh.

"How can someone not die from all that pain and torment? It's good that Lith is dead, or he would have just suffered all his life."

"And now I inherited this problem because of a bunch of scheming idiots. I am sure that the Viscount's son has taken a few girl's flowers.

Hey, Star, didn't you say you would give me some of your powers?" Alex asked, enraged by his situation."

"Ha ha ha, of course, I will; the stronger you are, the stronger I will be, the closer I will be to my revenge. I must ask, what do you plan to do?"

"Well, that depends on what power you will give me, but in short, I plan to kill them all!" Alex said chillingly.

"Ha ha ha ha, if faith allows it, you will have access to the dark system. This is a family heirloom but also a curse."
