Luke's P.O.V
Luke did not know who Alex was. Or if he was affiliated with the adventurer guild, the knights, or a hired hand. What he wanted to know was if there were more coming? The strength Alex displayed showed his experience. Alex took out two of his companions quickly, even if it was a sneak attack. Luke knew he could not do that. Luke tried to make his shadow materialize and prepare to attack, but they dissipate every time the light on the ceiling swung, putting him on the defenses. He cursed the knight for arranging so many lights in a storage room. 'Couldn't you have been normal and only placed two?'. He saw Alex ran towards him without second-guessing himself. From Alex's form and weapon, he seemed proficient at close combat. Luke immediately knew he had to distance himself from Alex until more of his comrades arrive. He immediately switched his sword into his spatial ring for throwing knives as he directly backtracks while keeping his back towards the exit as he faced Alex. He would be a fool if he turned his back on such an efficient assassin; that was a no, no, no,no. Luke started throwing knives at Alex to keep the distance, but he would hit them away flawlessly. The only advantage he had was speed. After backing over five feet toward where he came, he heard one of his comrades say, "w." Each comrade would receive a letter that allowed the others to know of their presence and their ability. Luke instantly recalled that the "w" was for last year's new member, Flick, and one of his innate skill was bind. Flick was clever when it came to tactics, unlike him, who was only good for fighting.

Flick's, the 4th Assailant, P.O.V
Flick witness the whole thing; he saw how Alex took out his two companions quickly. 'Who cares if it was a sneak attack? The dead cannot complain!' Flick thought Alex was definitely stronger than Luke.
'Even if he joins the battle, they might just tie him up at most.'
Flick sighed, 'who knows if there were more coming?'
If Alex were here from the beginning, there was no way they would have entered the house quickly. The guards outside could barely handle one of them, even if it were one verse three. Flick had a dark elemental affinity; his only skill was bind; he had to touch his opponent to use it. As he was thinking, he saw Alex ran towards Luke and Luke using throwing knives backing away. Flick knew Luke was a shadow elementalist, and he would always use it. This could only mean that something was hindering his ability, or he was out of mana. Flick had no choice now but to whisper "w."

Alex's P.O.V
Alex immediately ran towards Luke; he needed to create distance between Luke and the woman. Luke switched his sword for throwing knives as he backtracked, forcing Alex to abandon using ghost fade. If Alex faded, the knives would hit the women that were behind him! Rephrase that; the knives would hit Jewel, who made her way to the front of the other women. Alex could not help but ask inwardly, 'now you chose to come in front?'
At this point, Alex was even grateful that such an extravagant knight made the halls narrow instead of wide. With his passive skill sense, he was able to hit the knives away from him and the woman. Alex was sure that his plan would work once Luka was five feet away and that the lights kept swinging. Alex heard the fourth assailant whispered, "w," he did not care what it meant; all he knew was it was not good for him.
Alex instantly used his skill blink and arrived in front of the women; taking them by surprise, he hugged them since they were huddled together. From there, Alex instantly blinked from the house to two streets down. Once on the street, the woman could not help but scream.
Alex reprimanded them swiftly, "Why don't you scream louder so they can know where we are? Are you stupid?".
After hearing Alex's reply, the women were shocked and calmed down.
Alex left his opponents with a surprised expression, and Luke left him with a throwing knife in the back of his thigh. Alex could not help but wench in pain as he pulled the knife out.
*Ding*
[passive skill poison immunity was activated]
Once the women saw Alex pulled the knife out of his thigh, any thoughts about his previous remark vanished. They could have died if he did not show up. Once the blade was out, Alex drank a mana potion first, then a healing potion.
"With your Skills, you could have killed them all. I am impressed that you could open two rifts at the same time." Star chimed, sending a kick to Alex's ego; first for being overall cautious and then an attaboy at the end. Star was truly impressed that Alex was able to blink with a group of people considering he recently learned his skill.
Alex agreed with Star; if he could have stayed in the void, he could have killed Luke, or if it was a one-on-one with his ghost fade and venom-covered ghost blades, it would have just been a matter of when. The environment was perfect; Luke could not use his ability. He probably lost out on a 1000 exp. Alex sighed so loud as if he lost something.
"Normally, if I was in a tight situation like that, the system would have forced me to kill everyone!" Star said, pulling Alex out of his own thoughts.
"why? And why didn't it force me then?"
"Maybe the system considers your class when issuing quest; assassins are not good at head-to-head combat. They are capable, but they work better making a one-strike kill." Star said to Alex, trying to make sense of the situation.
In truth, he was trying to convince himself as well. The dark system was a curse that limited them in more ways than one. But for Alex, the system was acting strange, and he could not explain why. But this was good in a way!
Alex turned, facing the women, and said, "Ladies could you give me your hands? It would be best to go to the knight fort, now."
They obeyed him, and he blinked with them, a total of 34 times (1KM each), with stops to drink mana potions in between. Alex's one-hour time limit was nearing, and he needed to return to his jail cell.
Once in the front of the fort, Alex drank another potion just in case someone acted stupidly. Alex escorted the women inside; no one stopped him. There they were able to contact a knight they knew. Everything went smoothly; Knights were like cops; they protect their own unless benefits are involved.
"Just my advice stay, in the fort until your husband comes back and trust no one. The attack on your homes was deliberate. Do not exit the fort," Alex advised. He could see in their eyes they would not listen. Alex needed to talk to Jewel alone without it looking suspicious, so he wrote her a note.
"Could you help me tie this bandana on my leg, please?" Alex asked Jewel while passing her the note secretly.
Writing on the note was a simple warning.
"I am here because Lith sent me to help you, Jewel; please do not worry about him; I would kill the viscount himself before Lith is executed. Do not tell anyone what is written here. Do not Exit the fort. I have my handful protecting Lith. I repeat, do not exit the fort. No matter who asked you. Blue skies."
"Blue skies" was a code between Lith and Jewel when he wanted to be alone.
After giving her the note, Alex blinked to a street close to the jail. There he opened a rift, entered, and flash into his jail cell, changed his clothes, removed the armor, and then he exited the rift. Alex laid back on the wet floor next to the decomposing bodies in the same position as if near death.
In his cell, Alex was quite proud of himself. He looted one butchery, two weapons, one clothing, three potions, and one bread store. Killed one hundred and forty people, including twenty lords and 2 barons. In a mere four hours. Alex was sure the Saint Rothen would be in chaos; with Star mimicking his body's previous condition, Alex went to sleep peacefully.
