The God STAR Point of View
The god screamed, "Hey kid, don't die on me."
'Shit, he's died! DAME IT! Once the ritual is complete it's over. Is this how it ends? Nooooooo, I refuse to allow those conniving bastards to get away with this!'
'Wait, this soul getting stronger. I was sure he was on his last breath. Well, whatever, this is great; finally. Those idiots thought they could ambush and kill me; just wait, I will show them. Ha ha ha ha.'
'Fuck me. This is a different soul from one of the weaker worlds, earth. Shit, his soul can transfer to other worlds! How is this possible? I doubt he's related to that god Asklepios. Well look here, he is amoral by nature, a do what needs to be done kind of guy: murder, assassination, kidnapping, scheming, revenge. These are the kind of traits a god in my profession should have! Oh, he has a good side to him too, I like it. Yes, yes, yes, this is the hope I need.
The previous soul was a wimp, scared to kill, even though people have plotted against him. How could I make him my son? Good riddance. No good deed goes unpunished.
'Believing in a father that has denied him his whole life, what a fool! They betrayed you since birth and are now using you as a scapegoat. You should have slit their throats, torture their wives, drank their blood, and discreetly shit on their corpses. But I must thank you for dying; without your death, I would not have found the perfect son. With him, I can thwart those fool's plans, and get my revenge.
'Whichever of the underworld your soul travels to, may you be tortured for all eternity. However, I can guarantee that those plotted against you will follow in your steed to the yellow river! Just a glimpse into my new son's soul, and I cannot wait for this adventure. I can finally say hello, pot my name is kettle, and we are black. (deep evil laughter) ha ha aha ha ha '
______________
Alex Point of View
Alex slowly opened his eyes to a small dark jail cell. The back and the left wall were made with bricks, while the front and right sides of the prison were bars. The stench of manure and blood assaulted his nostril, pulling him awake. He was lying on the floor of a flooded jail cell in the corner next to a pile of decomposing bodies surrounded by flies and maggots. A bed hinged from the left brick wall, but it didn't look any better than the floor.
'Why does my head hurt so much? Oh, that's right, they tortured me to death. Those fuckers! They will join me in hell shortly. haha haha!' Alex laughed maniacally.
'Wait, how am I still alive?' Alex pondered why looking at his body.
'This must be one of those reincarnations, soul transfer shit, hahaha haha. No evil deed goes unrewarded. But this body is so frail, just a causal slap would kill me.'
"Ouch," Alex whaled as pain mugged him as he tried to move.
'Fuck me, six broken ribs, femur, and a punctured lung. No wonder the previous owner died. I wondered how long he lasted like this or what the poor bastard did to deserve this? Wait, with all these injuries, no food or medical care, won't I follow the poor bastard to hell too.'
Suddenly Alex heard an eerie voice.
"ha ha ha, hey, son, don't move, or you will further damage that meager body."
Alex did not move; he understood that what the eerie voice said was true. Still, he had to look around but could not locate the voice's owner. He could easily be killed in his condition, so there was no use panicking.
"Who the heck are you?" Alex said callously.
(dark, disturbing laughter) ha ha ha ha!
"I am a god called Vigerřamous, better known as the cursed one, the unbiased reaper. You can call me Star, I am currently just a soul fragment in this body. Logically I am temporarily a part of you now—no need to speak thru your mouth. Just use your mind. There is no need to draw unwanted attention to ourselves."
The words 'Unbiased Reaper' and ' the cursed one?' reverberated in Alex's mind.
'nothing good could come from a fella with those names', he thought not wanting any details.
"What is a soul fragment?" Alex asked.
"Before I explain everything that you need to know. We need to make a soul contract that would allow my soul fragment to merge with yours." Star replied.
"What the fuck, old bastard, if you think you can take over my soul, you better think again!" Alex retorted in a harsh tone. Alex did not know what a soul contract was for, but he did not need to be a genius to guess especially from a fella known as the unbiased reaper.
Another ill well laughter reverberated in his mind "ha ha ha! Calm down, the soul contract will not allow me to take over your soul, mind, or body. This contract will allow us to always be in the same situation. If you die, so will my soul fragment. This contract will allow me to be protected in your soul and sleep peacefully while hiding from my enemies. We can write a contract where my soul fragment brings no harm to you. You would also receive tons of benefits, my protection, and access to information about this world. I don't know if you notice but you are not in the best position right now; I would guess that your other lung will collapse soon, and you are likely to die. With a soul contract, I can heal all of your injuries, and I would like to think that a contract with me is better than death. All that I will request is your assistance altering a few prophecies!"
Hearing what Star said, Alex thought about it for five minutes.
'It was true that he was likely to die, and he might not get another chance like this.' so he thought.
Alex did not know that his soul would transfer to another world once his current body fail. The evil god was grasping at straws. Without Alex, his best chance at revenge or becoming a god again would disappear, at least for twenty-five hundred years.
"Ok, I accept. But if I have even the slightest feeling of you doing something shady, I will puncture the other lung with my broken ribs, and we both die, or at least I die. Ruining your plans." Alex said with conviction.
Alex's plan was imperfect because he did not know about his soul's ability to transfer; however, he was right. With the other lung punctured, the body would fail, and his soul would just drift to another world; the evil god would not die, but his hopes would.
"What's with all this worrying! To make a soul contract, we must sign using our souls; I will imprint everything about the soul in your mind as a sign of good faith, and you can start the contract. I will follow." Star voiced, but again, he was taking advantage of Alex. There is no way an old bastard that lived for a millennium would do anything in good faith. At least, not for someone he just met. Star knew that writing a contract would require time, and his soul frequency would be pinned by other gods. By then, they would destroy this world, along with Alex and his soul fragment. Star knew he could keep his soul frequency undetected for four minutes tops when using his soul. Just enough to sign the contract.
A rush of Soul information entered Alex's mind, momentarily startling him. The information about soul bending, bidding, contracts, repairing, enslaving, and expanding was overwhelming. It took one hour for him to digest it all and thirty minutes to start the contract.
The evil god inspected the contract before signing it with a piece of his already exhausted soul fragment.
Once the soul contract was signed, Star's soul fragment went into Alex's soul for shelter. There he felt a sense of relief. He could finally sleep, and his soul frequency would mimic Alex's.
A burst of ruthless laughter sounded in Alex's mind, "kid, you and I are going on a journey paved by blood."
