Chapter 2 - [A New Beginning]

Pain, this is the feeling that he got. He felt as if being torn apart. The sudden pain is what awoke him.

Opening his eyes, what greets him is blood and a cliff, like being in a precipice. His limbs are very painful. He could hear the noise from horses that are wriggling in pain.

"I-I was...supposed to be dead... Why am I alive?"

The great pain caused him to wake completely. Looking at his surroundings, he tried to stand from where he was. It took great effort to stand up. All he could feel was the pain in his body and the light of the night.

Just after leaning against a rock, his head started to ache. The ache was due to memories flowing in his mind. After the pain passed, he realized that he was not on earth.

"...It turns out that I reincarnated!..no, the correct word would be transmigrated, as in those novels..."

He started to collect the memories from the body into whom he transmigrated.

---It turns out I reincarnated as Sephie Evertime Winter the 3rd son of a duke's family, and to make things worst, this person is said to be a useless crazy bastard. From what I could collect, this is no longer earth.

As the 3rd son of duke Winter, he was said to inherit part of the ancient power just as the 2nd and 1rs son did. It's a pity that when he turned 10th, his power didn't awaken, and even his magical beast, which was supposed to manifest didn't manifest.

His parents didn't treat him differently. He was spoiled from then on. Later with the passing of the years, he became rebellious.

Because his behavior was changing, his family no longer paid attention to him, and just his mother and sister remained by his side. Not just that, Sephie Winter even falls in love with an earl's son who just approached him to use him.

Nathaniel Apricorn, earl Apricorn's 2nd son and fiance of the original owner. Not wanting to marry the original owner, he approached and seduced him. The original owner, who was so naive, fell into the trap created by Nathaniel. When Sephie Winter saw Nathaniel kissing a woman at the party arranged by the earl to announce the engagement in the back of the garden, he caused a ruckus and persecuted the woman saying that she seduced his fiance and threw many of the things he could encounter in the party at her.

After that incident, Sephie Evertime Winter and Nathaniel Apricorn's engagement was annulled, and the original owner was forbidden to attend any other party for the time being.

Since then, he was said to be crazy.

His father and brothers, who later learned of this incident began to ignore and avoid him more often.---

"Sephie Evertime Winter indeed was pitiful, to not even realize that was being used to annul the engagement."

A light of sadness flashed through his eyes.

--- And now, I have become this supposed crazy and useless person. I, who once was feared as the phantom of the night, Raven, and it has passed many years since I used my real name that I even forgot it.

I suppose that now, I have to live as the 3rd son of duke Winter.

From the memories of this body, Sephie was supposed to be on his way to the Cratos county, in the mountains, a place for him to reflect on his own about his wrongdoings.

On the way to Cratos, his carriage was attacked by bandits, but what a pity there was a precipice where the carriage was attacked. The carriage fell during the attack and Sephie died, even after being protected from the fall. It seems I got lucky to take over his body, to be precise, my soul was attracted and placed on this body. ---

While he was sorting out the information received, Raven, no, now he's Sephie Winter, the 3rd son of the duke. He heard something coming on his way.

---I need to get on the move. This place is dangerous.---

Just getting up caused Sephie to feel horrendous pain. All over his body, there was the blood of the people that protected him. Although he just had some scratches, his body hurt like hell.

After getting up, he started to walk in the opposite direction from where the sound was coming. He didn't know if those people were rescuers or the bandits that attacked his carriage. He didn't want to find out because it was too dangerous.

The forest in these mountains was too dense, and it's probably dangerous to wander at night. Sephie was thinking of finding a cave to spend the night in.

While walking on through the forest, the sky started to get darker. It was impossible to find a cave in such a short amount of time to pass the night. When he was already giving up, he was about to lean on an old trunk of pine when he suddenly felt himself falling without even having the time to extend his hand to stop himself from falling.
