Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: Shouldn't Have Fed You Watermelon

Qin Guanglin was silently giving thanks for this Valentine's Day when the sound of the Dou Dizhu game suddenly chimed in from He Fang.

Propping himself up, he planted a kiss on her cheek and turned his gaze to He Fang's game.

"Your drool stinks, don't kiss me," He Fang complained, wiping her face and giving up on the landlord bid.

"I'm going to kiss you." Qin Guanglin kissed her again once she finished wiping, "Why aren't you bidding for the landlord with such good cards?"

Double jokers and three twos, such good luck was just wasted.

"Just not bidding," He Fang continued wiping, "You're so gross, keep your distance."

"Gonna gross you out." Qin Guanglin gave her three more kisses, waiting for her to wipe each time, then continued kissing.

"Annoying!"

He Fang stopped wiping, focusing on the Dou Dizhu game.

After waiting a moment, Qin Guanglin contently rested his chin on her shoulder, "Use the three twos to bring out the pair of sixes, you can counter-attack with an extra bomb."

"I won't." He Fang was reluctant to play her strong cards so soon and chose to pass.

"Aye ya! What a waste," Qin Guanglin said regretfully, glancing at her beans to see there were indeed only a few thousand left.

"I'm doing this my way." He Fang insisted on playing her own strategy.

Qin Guanglin watched for a while and felt bored. With her skills, she shouldn't be playing Dou Dizhu. If it weren't for her good luck, she'd have definitely lost.

Burying his face into He Fang's fragrant hair again, he embraced her tightly. After experiencing the game of kissing, Qin Guanglin had completely let himself go, constantly thinking of kiss and hug moments.

"I won," He Fang triumphantly shook her phone. Feeling uncomfortable with Qin Guanglin's tight embrace, she pulled his hand down to her waist, "Even without your guidance, I win."

"So impressive," Qin Guanglin responded dismissively, his wandering hands gently kneading.

"Behave yourself!" He Fang slapped his hand and started the next round.

Qin Guanglin was quiet for a moment. Then he sneakily stretched his other hand to slide under her neck, "Lift a bit."

"For what?" He Fang instinctively lifted her head, allowing Qin Guanglin to prop his arm beneath it.

"There, that's comfortable," Qin Guanglin said contentedly.

He Fang shifted to adjust her position for more comfort, warning, "Don't push it too far."

"It's enough."

Hugging her warm body completely in his arms, Qin Guanglin felt content and sighed happily.

Ah, a thick skin really makes life more comfortable.

Greedy desires were endless. After enjoying the warmth and fragrance for a while, his hands began to stir again, lightly caressing her waist.

"How long are we going to date?" Qin Guanglin pondered for a long time before he couldn't hold back and started to reveal his intentions.

He Fang drew a poor hand, racking her brain on how to play it. She didn't bother with his roving hands, casually responding, "How long do you want?"

"The shorter, the better, of course."

Qin Guanglin was eager to settle things. Otherwise, as Qin's Mom said, what if He Fang got a job and met someone better?

Feelings were inherently selfish. He wouldn't welcome any surprises. Even if He Fang found someone better than him, it wouldn't do. He had to secure her firmly.

"Already tired of it?" He Fang pretended not to understand his implication, "If you don't want to date, then don't."

"I mean, when do we move to the next step?" Qin Guanglin tactfully reminded her.

"What next step?"

"For example... take me to your house for a visit?"

"Damn you for talking to me, made me lose," He Fang angrily pinched his misbehaving hand, "What for?"

"Just a visit." Qin Guanglin was dissatisfied. Did he really have to spell it out so plainly?

"Visit the future father-in-law?" He Fang directly exposed his little ploy.

Qin Guanglin was caught off guard, "Uh, future, future."

"Shameless," He Fang scoffed, "I shouldn't have let you have your way today."

"Already had my way." Qin Guanglin grasped her hand. There was no hiding anymore, "When do we go take a look?"

"Depends on my mood." He Fang retracted her hand to continue playing Dou Dizhu, "Right now I'm in a bad mood, so forget about it."

"It's just two losses, I'll help you win them back." Qin Guanglin was brimming with confidence, feeling it was quite straightforward.

"Then win me twenty thousand, no, ten thousand beans, and I'll consider it." He Fang casually said, accepting the three thousand bean gift from the system to start the next round.

Qin Guanglin thought for a moment. Ten thousand was a bit challenging, but not impossible. If he couldn't win, he could recharge a few dollars and get it, so he agreed, "Alright, you said it. But there's no time limit."

If he had to accomplish it today, ten thousand, no, even three thousand would be difficult.

"No limit, but no buying beans, must win them. I can see the records." He Fang blocked his little calculations, "If I catch you cheating, you're done for."

"Mm, I'll win ten thousand for you." Qin Guanglin began contemplating asking Qin's Mom for advice on what to do when visiting a girl's house.

He absolutely couldn't screw this up.

Meeting the future father-in-law… just saying it sounded satisfying, filled his heart with delight.

"Before going, you need to brief me on the do's and don'ts." Qin Guanglin felt that the matter was settled, so he began to push his luck.

He Fang slapped his misbehaving hand again, "Win the beans first, then talk."

"I can definitely win them."

Qin Guanglin playfully nuzzled her hair, this Valentine's Day was truly amazing.

Feelings had taken a significant step forward, bringing satisfaction.

Marriage… a few months ago, it seemed like a very distant affair. Now, he had already touched its edges. It must be said that fate works in mysterious ways. Qin Guanglin inhaled the fragrance of her hair, feeling a bit sentimental.

Was it moving too fast? This thought momentarily crossed his mind, but feeling the soft warmth of her waist under his palm, he dismissed it immediately. Faster was indeed better.

Feeling a bit drowsy, out of nowhere He Fang made a faint sound, arching her body as if very uncomfortable. Qin Guanglin was immediately alarmed, "What's wrong?!"

"Stomach pain." He Fang tossed her phone aside, covering her stomach with a frown.

"How come suddenly a stomachache?" Qin Guanglin was anxious, getting up to look at her, "Did you eat something bad?"

"The watermelon was too cold."

He Fang's face was pale with pain, "Pour me a cup of hot water."

"Okay, hold on."

Qin Guanglin hurried down to find a cup, and in the living room, he shook the kettle. Luckily, there was already boiled water inside, no need to heat it up.

Carefully carrying the cup over, Qin Guanglin blew on it twice, "Drink slowly, it's a bit hot."

Not feeling assured, he tasted it himself. It was too hot to drink. Turning around, he said, "Hold on, it's too hot to drink."

"Don't add cold water," He Fang instructed him.

"I won't."

Qin Guanglin found two large bowls in the kitchen and poured the water back and forth between them, "Is this a stomach problem? Should I go get you some painkillers?"

"No, it's that time of the month," He Fang said weakly.

"That?" Qin Guanglin was stunned for a moment, then realized, becoming more anxious, "Why are you eating watermelon then?!"

The watermelon had been chilled in the fridge, delicious but very cold.

"I thought a couple of bites would be fine," He Fang mumbled softly, "Wasn't it you who insisted on feeding me?"

"Why did I feed you watermelon?!" Qin Guanglin blamed himself, then tasted the water again. Still a bit hot, but he could take small sips.

He poured about half of it into a cup and handed it to He Fang, "Drink a little first, it's rather hot, sip slowly."

He Fang reluctantly sat up, taking the cup and sipped slowly while Qin Guanglin continued cooling the rest of the water by pouring it back and forth.

"Feeling better?" he asked cautiously.

He Fang shook her head, too lazy to speak, continuing with slow sips.

Even medication wouldn't bring immediate relief, no basic common sense at all.

Qin Guanglin looked at the half-eaten watermelon on the table, deeply regretful, "Is there anything else that can help?"

"It'll be better in a while."

Seeing his anxious state, He Fang showed a slight smile, then her expression turned to a frown again, holding onto her stomach tightly.
