The more he tried not to think about it, the more he noticed. When He Fang was asleep, it wasn't a big deal, but now it was torture.
Qin Guanglin didn't dare look down at He Fang, or even move. He could only stare at the ceiling, trying to find something interesting to think about to distract himself. However, all that flashed through his mind were He Fang's small mouth, her plump behind, her fingers wet with saliva...his face grew redder and redder, and he couldn't help swallowing hard.
"You aren't being honest," He Fang suddenly said.
"I'm very honest," Qin Guanglin replied, feeling a bit guilty.
"Then why are you like this?" He Fang squirmed around. "It's been so long, you must be thinking of all sorts of nonsense."
"Hey...don't move!" Qin Guanglin hugged her tightly, stopping her from moving around.
"Hmph!" He Fang turned her head and bit his arm, then propped herself up. "I'm not letting you hold me anymore; I'm going to check on the carrots in the kitchen."
"Go ahead," Qin Guanglin said, muffled, as he lay on the bed.
It was so embarrassing. He Fang hadn't even graduated yet—how could he do this?
He needed to find something to do, or else he'd just keep thinking about nonsense. He glanced around, grabbed his phone, and started browsing. He checked Sun Wen's feed to see if there were any pictures from work to get a sense of what that studio was like.
Soon, He Fang came back and lay next to Qin Guanglin, watching him with a smile.
Qin Guanglin felt uncomfortable under her gaze and awkwardly moved backward. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
He Fang didn't say anything, continuing to look at him that way.
"It's normal; you can't blame me!" Qin Guanglin said, a bit flustered and indignant.
"I didn't say anything," He Fang said, scooting closer with a grin. "Anyway, I'm not the one who's uncomfortable."
"Stop it!" Qin Guanglin turned his back to her, deciding to ignore her.
"Okay, I won't say anymore." He Fang snuggled closer, wrapped her arms around his waist from behind, and hugged him. "Is this okay?"
Qin Guanglin still felt a bit embarrassed, watching his phone in silence. He Fang's small hand deliberately moved around his waist, making him reach out to grab it, holding it gently.
"Are you graduating at the end of June?" Qin Guanglin thought for a moment and decided to change the topic, showing concern for the issues she was facing.
"Yes, why?"
"The school will be on summer break in July...didn't you say you wanted to be a teacher? It might be hard to find a job then." He remembered how anxious his roommates were when they couldn't find work.
"Then I just won't look for now," He Fang said, showing no pressure. "I'll take two months off first."
"Oh." Qin Guanglin nodded, then realized a serious problem. "Then if you take two months off, will you go home?"
He City wasn't far from Luo City, but they were still two different cities, making it inconvenient to meet!
"Do you want me to go home?" He Fang asked.
"Of course not..." Qin Guanglin lowered his voice, feeling a bit selfish. Going home was normal, and staying here, what could she do? After leaving school, she couldn't stay in the dormitory, so there was no way to remain.
He could only hope she could find a job in Luo City.
"Why?" He Fang continued to ask.
"Because if you go home, we won't be able to see each other often," he answered honestly. Even though it was something a month away, just thinking about it made him unhappy.
"Classmate Qin, please reorganize your words," He Fang climbed up a bit and whispered in Qin Guanglin's ear, "I might choose not to go home."
Qin Guanglin was stunned, reorganize...what did she want to hear?
"Because I want to see you often?" he tentatively said.
"Say it again."
"Because I...I don't want you to go." Qin Guanglin thought this must be it.
"I don't want you to go either." He Fang happily kissed his face. "I super don't want to."
Her hair brushed against Qin Guanglin's face, tickling him, and he turned a little red. Saying these sweet words face-to-face was still somewhat unfamiliar to him.
"Then you..."
"I will go back once, but I won't stay long, because..." He Fang left half the sentence unsaid, just hugging him tightly.
Qin Guanglin was a little worried. "What if you can't find a job? You can't stay in the dormitory."
"Can I sleep at your place?" He Fang teased him again.
"Don't joke around; I'm serious," Qin Guanglin said, dissatisfied, looking at her small hand before lowering his head to nibble her fingers.
"Your saliva stinks," He Fang said, wiping her finger on him.
"It doesn't stink," Qin Guanglin muttered, then asked curiously, "Do you already have a plan?"
Suddenly, he remembered that He Fang was a very organized person. Asking him to reorganize his words might have been her way of guiding him to say sweet things, and she had probably already decided to stay in Luo City. It seemed very likely.
"Of course, I'm Teacher He; everything is under control," He Fang's words confirmed his guess. "Classmate Qin, you can rest easy."
"Well, okay," Qin Guanglin thought for a moment and then reminded her, "If there's a problem, tell me, and I'll see if I can help."
"Okay, I will."
Neither of them spoke again, their hands lightly caressing each other, enjoying the quiet moment.
After a long while, Qin Guanglin glanced at his watch. "It's half past eight. I'll take you back; it's too late otherwise."
"Let me hold you for five more minutes," He Fang lazily said, shifting to hug him tighter.
Qin Guanglin didn't refuse, wanting to linger a bit longer too.
Five minutes turned into another five minutes before He Fang finally climbed up, "Let's go, Classmate Qin."
"Okay."
Qin Guanglin accompanied her outside, feeling the wind was a bit chilly. "Wait for me a moment."
He went back in to grab a light jacket and handed it to He Fang. "Here, you can take it off when you get to school."
"Great progress, worthy of praise," He Fang took the jacket, touched his face, then draped it over her shoulders and pulled him towards the bus stop.
The moonlight was bright, and there weren't many pedestrians on the street. Their shadows stretched long behind them, drawing closer and retracting with the streetlights, casting them ahead as their clasped hands swung slightly with their steps.
He Fang softly hummed a tune again, the same as she'd been humming in the kitchen while cooking. Qin Guanglin found it pleasant, "What song is that?"
"Hmm?" He Fang returned to her senses.
"The one you were just humming, it sounds nice. I'll listen to it later," not only because it sounded nice but also because he wanted to learn more about the things she liked.
"I was just humming randomly," He Fang shook her head, then glanced ahead at the bus stop, "Hurry, the bus is coming."
The bus, nearly nine o'clock, had few passengers. After Qin Guanglin paid the fare, he led He Fang to find two seats. She naturally rested her head on his shoulder.
Although a bit unaccustomed to such intimacy in public, Qin Guanglin still felt sweet inside. Being in a relationship was really wonderful.
