Chapter 2 - Chapter two: you’ve been summoned to an entirely different universe my dears

Drew McDermott had managed to do it again. The sound of his feet hitting the pavement wasn't enough as the sound of sirens drew closer.

Who would have thought "ManMan" from 25th street would leave for the military and do good just to come back to this mess. Once a street boy always a street boy as the saying went.

Getting caught was awful ditching the play was worse. Damn it! A coldusac . He scrambled up a fence as the sirens blared. If there was a dog he'd run from that too. As soon as he positioned himself at the top of the fence right before the jump he felt a tingling sensation in the pit of his stomach. He jumped assuming it was just adrenaline. Mid jump a white light emulated from him and on this plane he was no more. Instead he was falling and falling some where else.

Lance Radcliffe did not much feel like living any more. The loss of his mother and debt from it combined has cost him to drop out of school where he was rather brilliant so all he had time to do now was sit and drink.

He stepped out of the pub into a cold night. It was raining as usual which really matched the inside of his mind now days. Returning to the flat was the last thing he wanted. Instead he stepped out on to a busy street with out looking.

As his gut began to bubble an 18 wheeler was coming at him head on. Lance inhaled deeply and prepared to meet death when he finished as the truck was cinemeters from him.

Aida was falling thru the sky then falling hard threw branched and falling more when she landed on something or rather someone as the yelps indicated that she had landed on two actual people.

"Shit!!!"

"Ouch!!!"

"Where am I?"

"Man get off of me!!"

In disarray they all scrambled to their feet in pain and confusion.

"Where are we?"

"A Forest?"

"On earth?"

"I don't think so."

They three looked up to the great expanse. You could see stars, Moons, planets and comets alike. They were all so close. It was dark blue, indigo and purple all at the same time. And it glowed just like the northern lights.

Even in this extreme state of disbelief and panic they had to stop to admire its beauty. This was no earth sky.

"Are you Aida Fliess" asked a gorgeous dark haired boy with a beautiful British accent.

"I am. Who cares?" Asked Aida curtly. "Are we gonna die?" She asked next panic stricken.

Just as Drew was ready to tell her that he surely hoped not when a dark caravan pulled up with a creature with the a head of bull driving it.

Out of it stepped a very tall and very slim woman figure wearing all black.

"Hello." She said to them. Her voice was smooth and sinister at the same time some how. She had a very dark essence about her.

"I can smell your essence and lineage. You're so powerful for mutts. It's beautiful." She sighed deeply just peering at them. Her black eyes twinkled in the moonlight.

"The half and half elf energy is one that I must absorb." She continued.

"Who are you." Aida asked shakily.

She looked the tall slender creature with waist length hair and dark robes up and down. Aida did not like the vibes.

"Bring them too me." She commanded the creatures behind her, simply ignoring Aida.

"Don't touch me!!!" Aida shouted as the one with a bull for a head grabbed her arm.

She thru him over her shoulder and broke his arm.

"Fine then." Hissed the dark female creature.

She seized the young black male that was closest to her and appeared to suck the air between them only it wasn't air. A yellow light seemed to leave his body to the witches mouth.

"No!!" Screamed Aida throwing out her hand trying to stop it.

A strong forceful white light shot out of her finger tips as an electric charge passed thru her body taking her off her feet as the blast hit the witch. Aidas blast knocked everyone out including herself.

Aida sat up with a jolt. The previous events were not a dream. The fact that she had just woke up and the shit was still happening proved that it was indeed not her drugs.

The other two that were with her, Aida didn't see any sign of them. She didn't know them enough to actually be concerned but the thought of them with her was better than her being in this situation by herself.

She sat up quickly. She had no clue where her bag was which meant that she was unarmed.

Fun.

Aida climbed out of the mysterious bed that she was in. She was fully clothed apart from being barefooted. No biggie lack of shoes would not effect her fighting too much.

She quickly arranged the bed fittings to look like a person then sunk into the shadows against the wall by the door.

Aida was very shocked by how short the person who entered was. She almost didn't attack because they were the height of a child almost, hardly 5'5.

But Aida slammed the poor thing the ground silently and swiftly.

"Hey." Whispered Aida casually.

"I'm pretty sure You're in pain. I'm not sorry for it. But I can make it stop. All you have to do is take me to my bag and the others."

"The other humans?" She asked Aida grunting with pain.

Upon this question did Aida notice that the creatures ears were not round at the top like hers but instead they ended pointy like an elf.

What the fuck was this? Thought Aida wildly.

"What are you?" Aida asked intensely.

"Please you're a guest." Gasped the elf. "You're not in danger here."

"Prove it." Hissed Aida.

"Let go and I will!" Grunted the elf.

Aida helped the elf up.

"Show me." She commanded.

Aida was led down dark cavernous halls and spiral staircases. She was in a cave but the cave had hallways and rooms like a building. They reached an on open room were she saw the boys from earlier standing and talking to more pointy eared people. But these ones were taller, like 6" tall.

"Hello Fliess. How are you?"

"Why am I here?" Asked Aida skipping over civilities.

"The short answer to that question is that you've been summoned."

"Summoned?" Aida repeated.

What did she mean summoned? Well to be honest beneath the shock Aida new exactly what she was talking about

"What are you?" Aida asked randomly.

"She's means who?" Lance smoothed over in his smooth and mellow British accent while Drew suppressed a snigger.

"I'm Arabella a high elf but I doubt you know what that means." She began to explain.

"Like a high ranking member of a some form of government or Oder?" Lance asked.

"Precisely."

"Ok so who's the chick that tried to kill us?" Interjected Addison.

"Follow me if you will." Said Arrabella realizing that the interruptions would not cease.

The young adults followed the tall elf up a spiral cave like staircase and into a room that mimicked the night sky despite sunlight shining in the room.

"Where are we?" Asked Lance.

"For us it is home for you it has always been invisible."

"Like a different universe?" Asked Drew.

"All the same universe, we're just beyond your site." Arabella explained.

"How is that even possible? How did you make contact with us?" asked Aida growing more curious.

They followed Arabella around a corner that turned into a hall after passing about six rooms all with cave like door ways, no doors and marble floors Arabella took them into a room with a cave like view of the enchanted world they now inhabited and a ceiling that mirrored the cosmos.

in the center of this room was a table it was topographical map of something. The map moved on top of being made of stone. There were forest, lakes, deserts, rivers and oceans.

Aida starred and starred.

Arabella explained to them that some how their origins were not entirely human. long before civilizations and colonies their was no veil just the universe and all the realms teaming with magic. Humans, elf's, shifters and other creatures all lived together.

But peace was not among them.

"when we put the veil up it protected the human race but extinguished all magic on earth. Even mix breed creatures were left powerless."

"half breed?" asked Lance mildly offended.

"so why bring us back." Adia asked with her usual air of confrontation.

"
