Enilese looked behind her , she was afraid that somebody might be following her .
The new moon was just around the corner so the thin Crescent was barely visible and thus its light had not much glow .
Even after trying very hard she could not decipher any suspicious figure behind her .
She looked ahead , the dark soul was walking in the same manner , not too slow not too fast , his walk had a touch of mysticism and hypnotizing attraction .
After contemplating for a while Enilese disregarded the messages and chose not to reply to them .
She started following him again . About fifteen metres were still left to the community when her phone chimed again informing her of the arrival of new messages .
She took a small breath as she opened them . The message said -
[ This trail leads to nothing good . Go back . ]
She looked around again but just like before she couldn't see anything unusual .
She couldn't understand why this unknown sender was trying to stop her . After experiencing today's events , she was curious to see what was going on in that community and why the dark soul was going there .
She knew that something was definitely wrong with the community but never did she doubt that the dark souls could be related to this .
Now that she saw the dark soul heading towards the community , the idea crossed her mind that probably all the misfortune befallen over the community was nothing but an another result of the dark souls' aggression .
Her mind was already troubled with these thoughts , the unknown messages just increased her stress more . At the same time the messages intensified her determination to go after the man and find the truth .
She ignored the text and again followed the hooded man . Her mind became more unsettled than before because of this unknown sender . She couldn't help but think , who could it be and what he wanted .
She didn't take more than five steps when the dark soul in front of her stopped again .
Enilese immediately panicked , as she found no proper spot to hide , she had a certain idea that he would turn around .
And proving her anticipation correct , he turned towards her in an enigmatic manner .
At the sudden turn of events , Enilese became so overwhelmed that she didn't get enough time to react , she just stood there rooted like a statue with her eyes fixed on the man .
The man stood few metres away from her with his hand in his pocket looking in her direction , after a moment he took out his phone and prepared to do something , the bluish light of the phone fell on his hooded face as he brought it near his face before typing something in it .
And in the next moment , another message popped up in Enilese's phone . She was watching everything with extreme anxiousness but the vibration from the incoming message , as if , broke the stillness of her body as her hand instinctively prepared to open the message .
[ I think , you have forgotten how desperately you were begging for death , that day in the forest . If you are so eager to be on the ground again to experience the same helpless humiliation , feel free to quench your curiosity . ]
She looked at the man who had pocketed his phone and already turned back to his trail .
It was a short and simple message but the very simple words carried an explicit hint of threat .
Enilese couldn't help but recall the moments from the forest , and instantly her heart filled with bitterness . It was clear that by reminding her of the desperate , devastated and undignified state she was in that day , he was just mocking her helpless condition .
She knew that he was not wrong in any way , that day she was surely at his mercy , but his blatant remark on the matter made her extremely enraged .
Enilese gritted her teeth and said in her mind , ' There is no way I am going back . Even if I have to die today I would see the end of it . '
She made up her mind and continued again .
But her decision was just the outcome of her unsettled thoughts , after all . If only she knew that this haste decision of hers was leading her to some inevitable danger she would've made better choices .
But it was too late to turn back when she finally felt something odd with her surrounding .
She had already walked into the precinct of the community when she sensed the awkward stuffiness in the air .
The dark soul already walked far from her .
She tried to think about her purpose of coming here , after pondering for a while she realised that she just wanted to know what the dark soul was going to do in an abandoned community like this and she was certain that if any other member from their base happened to be there in her place they undoubtedly would've made the same decision as her .
Probably she was just trying to convince herself with those reasonings but the fact that the dark soul was aware of her presence was making her anxious .
She was about to continue walking when she felt something cold passing by her left side and a voice , almost immediately , whispered near her ear , " ....Enilese.... "
She immediately stiffened as she turned around but very naturally she didn't see anything unusual .
Anticipated by the dreadful event she tried to walk fast , towards the dark soul though she didn't have any idea what his destination was .
But she couldn't go very far when she heard the voice again , this time calling her name more desperately .
But the thing was that she was habituated with this kind experiences , and today itself she witnessed the past memories of the Rellar community , so she chose not to pay much attention to these things .
Right now , she wanted to focus only on that dark soul's doing .
But things didn't go as she wanted because just after a moment of silence , more than one voice spoke up ,
' Don't abandon us .... '
' Help us , Enilese ..... '
' We've waited for so long .... '
' We need your help .... '
That was it .... with that , the last string of her indifference broke as she turned around hastily .
However , this time , she wasn't disappointed .
By that time her eyes got adjusted to the darkness , so she could see better than before .
A bit away from her , was standing a mass of people , hardly visible because of the hazy fog , covering them like a blanket . Their heads were hung low and their hands were raised towards her as if they were asking for something .
It would be a lie to say that Enilese heart didn't tremble at this sight . She suddenly felt at her wit's end .
On the other hand , a person from the mass lifted their head and spoke , " Enilese .... only you can help us ..... set us free .... we are in so much pain ..... "
Because of the dark she couldn't see the person's face but it was a woman's voice , she was still speaking in whispering tone and each of her words was followed by breathy pauses which added extra creepiness to the whole thing .
The mass started moving towards her repeating the same thing again and again .
As she was now aware of the tragic end of the community people she was sure that these people were the very residents who perished miserably that night .
Though she felt bad about them
she didn't know what to do .
Honestly speaking , she was not feeling positive about all this because she has neither heard nor dealt with anything like this before .
" How ..... can I .... help you ..... ? " , Enilese finally spoke up but took a few steps back .
However , none of the people answered properly as they kept coming toward her with the same words .
She couldn't help but turn toward the direction of the dark soul but her desperate eyes didn't get any sight of him .
Now ... she really felt scared , as if an unknown fear filled her heart suddenly . Her heart started beating very fast .
Never had she ever , even in her worst nightmare , imagined that just because he had saved her twice she would become so dependent on him .
She rebuked herself for behaving like a weak and remembered her promise that no matter what happens tonight she won't take his help .
She pursed her lips as she tried to calm down , she continued backing away as the crowd was also doing the same without telling her how to help them .
Of course , she couldn't heal these long dead people , thus her only option was to maintain proper distance from them until they gave her some clear answer about what they actually wanted .
At that moment , her phone started vibrating , she got startled but felt a bit better . She was starting to feel stuffy because of all these , now at the very least she could speak to someone .
The call was from Selina .... Enilese was about to accept the call when suddenly the phone got disconnected and as if it was not bad enough , the last bar of the network disappeared , shattering all her hopes .
She looked ahead , the mass of people was still advancing , their partly visible figures , constant whispering voices , their mysterious yet rhythmic gestures eventually entranced her , she fell into a daze .
Soon she also extended her hand towards them and spoke , " I would help you .... tell me how to ..... "
Even in her dazed stated , her legs were conscious of the imminent danger . Thus , no matter what she said or did , her legs didn't stop moving backwards .
That woman from earlier was slightly ahead from the mass of people as if she was leading the others , Enilese couldn't see her face , she just knew that the long gap between them was finally coming to an end as her hand was about to touch hers .
" Enilese ... set us free ... " , hissed the woman and tried to take her hand .
However , before she could Enilese's back hit someone's firm chest and almost instantly a strong grip pulled her wrist from the woman's reach .
Enilese snapped out from her trance and almost instantly a faint yet familiar scent wafted into her nostrils .
She looked at the person behind her , tilting her head slightly . And she didn't know how to feel when she saw the dark soul standing behind her .
She stared at him , for some moments , as if to recall something .
But another whispering attracted her attention as she looked ahead .
The hazy silhouette of the woman seemed to be slightly shaking .
She continued , " Enilese , help us .... save us from him ... we are suffering for so many years .... we have waited for so long to be free .... he is here to destroy everything again ... please , set us free before he annihilates our souls completely ... "
Enilese was shocked to hear her words , so her assumption was correct after all , the people responsible for the deaths of the Rellar residents were none other than the dark souls .
Her mind instantly filled with disgust as she thought that taking the innocent people's lives wasn't enough for them that now they have come to destroy their souls completely in order to remove even the last traces of their existence .
She looked at the man but couldn't see any change in his composure , she couldn't tell whether he heard the woman's accusations against him or only she could hear their words .
She was going to say something but stopped as some hurried footsteps were heard before they came to a stop near them .
She sensed that another person has just arrived . However , ignoring that person she removed her wrist from his grip and said , " I don't need your help , leave me alone ... "
Before she could finish , the man behind her flicked his fingers and a bright flame appeared , illuminating the surrounding area .
In the light of the floating flame , she first noticed the newly arrived person , this person's face was not covered , and she knew him , he was none other than the other dark soul who had the power of venom , Charles .
The man was surprised to see her here as he frowned at her . Enilese's heart tightened , she was already thinking hard about how to deal with all the problem and to create more pressure , now Lucas' murderer was also standing in front of her .
She had already experienced the deadly effects of his power before , so despite of her burning wish to avenge Lucas' death she chose to be practical about the situation and remained silent .
But her misfortune was not over yet , rather it had just started . Her eyes finally caught the sight of the mass of the residents . Their heads were still lowered however the leading women lifted her head and Enilese's feet wavered seeing her face ... it was the very old woman who was the beginning point of all this .
The very woman who disappeared this morning and wasn't found afterwards .
" Grandma ... you ? " , Enilese gasped , " Are you ... dead ? "
However the woman had no time to waste in talking with her .
She hurriedly said , " Enilese , you had helped me once ... please help me one last time ... he would finish us ... help us ..... " , with those words , she started coming towards her .
Enilese too was about to go to the woman but she suddenly stopped herself as she noticed the old woman's eyes .
Her eyes had no trace of the usual tenderness and love , at present those loving emotions were replaced with extreme cruelty and unmistakable hint of murderous intent . At the same time , she remembered Shawn's words from before .
Enilese became sceptical as she said , " You have changed . Stay away from me . "
Hearing her words the woman's eyes glistened maliciously as she let out a blood chilling laughter .
Then she said , " I'm sorry .... but ..... you must help me ..... " , with that without giving her any time to react the woman pounced towards Enilese .
But the infernal hand barely brushed past against Enilese's neck as the dark soul swiftly pulled her from the woman's reach which enraged the woman even more .
The dark soul behind Enilese snapped his fingers again causing a ring of fire to appear on the ground surrounding the residents from all sides . Probably because of the blazing flame the residents started resisting desperately and then disappearing one by one .
Enilese was silently watching everything , trying to process the unexpected turn of events .
She came out of her thoughts when the woman shouted menacingly , " Do you think , this fire can stop me ? " , she let out another wave of laughter before saying , " You underestimated me . " , with that she disappeared but in the very next moment a column of dark smoke surrounded them .
The stagnant air suddenly became wild , along with the dark smoke it soon took the form of a storm .
Enilese was in utter dismay , she never thought that coming here would push her to such trouble .
She was trying to anticipate the next move when she sensed a pull on her ankle . In the immediate context , she realised that the dark smoke was now spiralling near her feet . Her heart skipped a beat . She wanted to distance herself from the smoke but before she could she was dragged by some unknown entity .
In the hope to grab something to prevent herself from being dragged away she couldn't help but hold onto the nearest man .
The dark soul didn't seem to mind her action , in the unsettling storm he was still standing maintaining his magnificent demeanor .
But things were not easy for Enilese , only she knew how much power the dark entity possessed .
She was holding onto the man with every ounce of her strength still her hand was slipping away from him because of the pull . The dark soul continued to stand still , with his lips pressed in a line , he seemed to have no intention of helping her today .
Near her feet the ground cracked a little causing more columns of smoke coming out of it .
Enilese's heart nearly jumped out of her body as she realised , the dark powers were going to drag her to the darkest depths of hell .
Her eyes filled with tears yet she continued to struggle . Her slipping hand was desperately wanting his support which she never got .
By now , her legs were on the verge of being gobbled up by the crack , so smokes inserted more powers than ever .
Tears started falling from her eyes but she dared not to make any sound . In the desperation to not to lose the last support her nails scratched against his bare wrist .
The other dark soul , Charles , was watching everything silently , he spoke up , " Hey woman , weren't you saying that you didn't need his help , just a few minutes ago ! Look carefully , it's you who is not letting go of him . "
Enilese was not foolish as not to sense the implicit mockery in his words . At the same time she couldn't help but remember her promise to herself which at the moment didn't seem to be more than a joke .
She looked at the hooded man with inexplicable emotions and decided to let go of the last straw that could save her .
She released her grip on him and closed her eyes , ready to accept her end .
Her fingers slightly brushed against his as the lingering effect of the touch filled her heart with a sudden sense of loss .
She was falling in the dark bottomless creak , a few tear drops fell from her eyes .
Her mind was blank , she was just waiting for the moment of catastrophe when he grabbed her hand , providing the very security she needed all this while .
He pulled her towards him and at once set the creak on fire .
Enilese shot her eyes open , she looked at the man who had already left her hand and walked a few steps forward .
It was a sight worth witnessing . The dark smoke along with the dust and dried leaves spiralled round them before slowly making its way to the fiery creak only to perish for ever .
The bright flames calmed Enilese's racing heart as she let out a small sigh .
As the last few threads of smoke were being swallowed up by the flames she heard the whispering voice again saying , " Enilese ..... you will .... pay the price ..... for this ... I would come back again ...... " , with these words they disappeared into the flames and the creak closed by itself .
The air became still again but the heaviness in the air dissipated a bit , the ground looked normal too , looking at it nobody could even imagine what a disastrous storm has passed over the area , just moments ago .
Enilese had no face to meet her eye with the two man , standing a bit away from her . She didn't know what to say or what to do .
But the silence didn't last long as Charles approached her , he stopped at a distance from her and said , " Why are you here ? ... Is it mere coincidence or you are intentionally intereferring too much in our activities ? "
Enilese had sheer hatred for this man but at the moment she was again at a disadvantage , so she chose not to speak .
But his next question caught her off guard .
" You are not spying on us , are you ? " , he asked , " Under the instructions of those angels . "
She frowned a bit and hurriedly shook her head as no .
" You're not ? Then what are you doing here , at this hour ? " , he said again .
She didn't know how to answer the question , she looked at the direction of the other person who was standing indifferently with his hands crossed over his chest .
She was thinking about not answering , however the middle aged Charles was not that easygoing , he guessed something and said at once , " Don't tell me you followed him here . "
Enilese was startled , she could neither accept nor deny the accusation . Thus she looked down .
So Charles said again , " As far as I know , nobody would like to follow the dark souls unless they have some purpose to do so . You still want to pretend that you have no motive for following him ? "
Charles had already sensed that she won't speak anything . So he said , " Go back and try to stay in your limits from now on . "
Enilese looked up and God knows why she suddenly spoke up in an expressionless voice , " I know your face . And you're letting me go ..... Are you not afraid that I can turn you to the authority ? "
Only then Enilese realised the weight of those words , she realised that her words could lead her to more problems but she could do nothing as the words had already left her lips .
However , Charles just laughed a little and said , " Do that , if you think it'd work and see if they can catch me . "
Enilese didn't say anything and turned to leave .
She just took a few steps when he spoke again , " Oh , and remember one thing , you better not be a spy . If it ever turns out to be true it will be the last day of your life . "
She , as usual , didn't reply as she continued on her way .
She passed the hooded man but didn't look at him .
After a few seconds her phone vibrated slightly .
She opened it and saw , the unknown number from earlier has sent her an another text .
[ You're forgetting something . ]
Now that she knew that the message was from the dark soul , she simply turned to him .
The faint daylight of dawn was just starting to tint the dark sky as the night was almost over .
In the faint light , she saw , the man was holding a chain with his fingers . It was the chain , she bought with Shawn in the spring festival .
She remembered , earlier because of the woman's attack a part of her dress and the chain had torn off . She almost forgot about it and now the dark soul was holding it .
But even after reading the message , she didn't move to take the chain from him . Thus another message popped in .
[ It's yours . Take it . ]
As she still didn't move she received one more message .
[ Or you want me to keep it ? ]
After a while , he prepared to leave noticing that she had no intention to collect the chain .
It was when Enilese slowly approached him .
As she was near him the familiar smell hit her nose again . She looked at him with scrutinising gaze .
She remembered now , someone , very close to her , uses this perfume .
She held her hand in front of him as he gave her chain back .
She noticed the scratch marks on his wrist which were made by her .
Enilese fixed her eyes on his hooded profile again as he turned to leave .

The dark soul was about to move past her when she spoke up , " So you're not confident enough as him to show your face , are you ? "
The man didn't reply , he just let out a breathy smirk .
She continued in a cold voice , " You are trying to hide so badly that you're not even speaking . Hiding your voice behind these text messages . "
The man tilted his head as his smile deepened .
" Who are you ? " , she asked .
However the man just crossed his arms with no intention to answer .
" Answer me . " , she shouted .
" Believe me , you won't be able to handle it . " , he remarked finally .
His voice sounded so familiar yet so distant to Enilese . She narrowed her eyes .
With that he started walking away . Enilese advanced to him and held his arm .
He stopped and spoke , " Honestly , the truth would be devastating for you . "
She looked at him with expressionless eyes and said , " Let me decide that myself. "
With that she pulled off his hood .
