I felt nervous from head to toe as I entered the powder room. " Hannah, are you alright?" shouted Cece from behind.
" No, I'm not okay. I'm trapped in a fancy Hollywood Gala which is filled with paparazzi. And I have to stand beside Liam while he discloses about our relationship in front of everyone. I'm terrified! If I mess this up, I'll be embarrassing Liam," I cried out.
" Don't worry, you will be fine. And you smudged your lipstick," she said.ย
"Is this necessary? I'm not feeling good about this," I said to Cece who was now adjusting my smudged lipstick with a paper towel.
" So you are brave enough to take a bullet for him but you are scared to stand by his side in front of some fancy people?" she asked.ย
" Yea, of course. I'll be the center of attraction for the paparazzi."
" Come on Hannah, what is the worst thing that will happen if you share the limelight with Liam?"ย
" A lot can happen, Cece. I am wearing a long gown, I might trip and fall in front of everyone. And the lights can make my sensitive eyes watery. My mascara could be smudged. And-"
" For the love of God, stop freaking out! Your mascara is waterproof and it will not smudge, even when you cry for hours. And even if you are about to fall, I'm pretty sure that Liam will catch you from falling. Just imagine! It will a romantic movement in front of everyone," she said.
Her words made me calm down for a while. She adjusted my strapless gown which was touching the floor. I felt like a princess getting ready for the ball.ย
" Black color suits you like a badass," she said. I smiled weakly at her.
" Just be yourself, Hannah. Hold his hands in front of everyone and smile at the cameras. You will be fine," she said in almost a whisper.ย
" Ladies, is everything okay in there?" shouted Liam from outside.ย
" Yea," I said and opened the door. Liam looked so edible in his black tuxedo. I wonder how he is always flawlessly handsome all the time.
" You look so pretty, Hannah," he said and held my hand. " Come on, let's go." He gently brushed his lips with mine
" Not again Mr. Eaton. I just now did her lipstick," Cece sighed.ย
He chuckled a little and we both started walking downstairs. I clutched his hand tighter as a lot of people were staring at us. I'm not comfortable with people staring at me.
I always think they are judging me with their stares. But I have to do this for Liam. It was difficult to get on the stage with my gown sweeping the floor.ย
My heartbeat started pacing fast as I faced everyone. The paparazzi came to the front line and they started asking absurd questions.ย
" Silence please," Liam yelled in front of everyone. " We will answer all of your questions at last. First I'm going to make an important announcement."
He cleared his throat a little and began to speak. " I am one of the most eligible bachelors in LA right now. I thought that living a Playboy lifestyle is cool. But I realized that I have been living a life of lies until I met Hannah Patterson. She showed me what I have been missing out on all these years of my bachelor life."
He glanced at me and smiled scarcely. But I couldn't do the same. Did he just call me Patterson? Then I realized that it was my legitimate last name and there is nothing I can do about it.ย
" She thought me what is love. I never believed in soulmate stuff before. I thought it was for little girls. But now, I think it is true. Hannah is my soulmate and I'm lucky to have her in my life. We both are engaged now and we are planning to get married soon," he said.
Everyone in the hall gasped. " Where did you meet her?" one of the paparazzi asked.
" I met her at one of my parties," he answered.
" Hannah Patterson, can you tell me about your family," asked a lady.
She asked me the one question which I can't answer. I just stood there tight-lipped. But Liam sensed my situation and filled in for me." Her family is in Oregon. And we are running late. Thank you so much, everyone. It was a pleasure meeting you all."

We both someone managed to run off from the paparazzi. He took me to the rooftop of the building. " I've planned a little surprise for here, sweetheart," he said.ย
As I got there, I was bewildered at the sight.ย " It's beautiful," I sighed. The candle lights made the rooftop glitter. Rose petals were sprinkled everywhere. There was even a fire pit in the center. At the corner, there was a tent with a four-poster mattress in it.ย
" Do you like it, sweetheart?" he asked me.
" Yes, I like it so much. I bet heaven must be like this."
We both went close to the ledge of the rooftop. It was amazing to see the city from this high viewpoint.ย
" Thank you for today, sweetheart. I know you don't like to be in the spotlight. But still, you did it for me."
" Liam, I love you so much. I'll do anything for you," I said.
" By anything, do you mean anything?" he asked me.
I could see where he is going with this. " Yes, I'll do anything for you," I answered.
He carried me with his muscular arms. " You are willing to do anything for me right. Shall I throw you off this fifty-story building?"
I wrapped my arms tightly around his shoulders and screamed. " Please don't throw me off the ledge, I'm scared of heights. I'll do anything else except this."
He started giggling like a lunatic. " It's not funny to mock at other's fears," I scowled at him.ย
" You know, sweetheart. I have never laughed like this before in my life. You just make me happy," he said.
" Since I'm your source of happiness, you aren't going to throw me off the ledge, right?"
" Baby girl, you are not just the source of my happiness. You are everything to me right now. You are worth to me, more than you will ever know."
