Leia picked up the book again and read,
"Someone came downstairs, Leia felt something in the pit of her stomach telling her not to talk. Just as she suspected the man came over to her. He looked tall and skinny. He said, "Leia, is it?" She did not say anything. He kept going as if she said yes, "How do you feel?"
She said, "Cold and dizzy."
He said, "Good. Can you wake him up?" He was pointing at Teddy.
She asked, "Why?"
He said, "So he could see you one last time before you go."
She said, "I could, but I won't do it." Then he smacked her right on the cheek and almost tipped the chair on its side. By this time Teddy was trying not to move.
He said, "I need you to wake him up now or you will die now."
Leia said, "No, I won't do it so kill me."
He said, "I've got a better plan. I will not kill you I need something from you. Charlie, Come here now!"
Charlie said, "Coming boss."
She asked, "What do you want?"
He said, "What your mother couldn't give us, because you had it."
She asked, "Where is my mother?" He just smiled. Charlie came downstairs and he looked like a scared cat coming out of its cage. He said, "Yes, boss?"
He said, "Wake him up whatever means necessary."
Charlie said, "Yes, boss." Then, Charlie kicked him in the ribs. There was a loud grunt. Leia wanted to yell no, but all she could do was to bite her lip. The boss said, "Now down to business."
Leia said, "What do you want from me?"
He said, "I want all your money, and you and your mother dead. Now it looks like we have to kill him too."
Leia said, "What do you want with our money?"
He said, "So I could use it to buy a hideout and keep it running."
She said, "I don't have it with me."
He said, "I see that. You're going to tell me where it is or your friend will be killed."
Leia said, "Go ahead I'm not going telling you." Leia thought, "I'm sorry."
The boss said, "No, I won't do that. I'll just do this."
He pulled a gun from his back pocket and shot Teddy in the leg. Leia fought back some tears as she heard Ted crying out in pain. She sat there and just about died. Charlie said, "Boss, you said no one was going to get hurt."
The boss said, "Well I thought she would cooperate with me. I guess I thought wrong."
Charlie said, "George, what do you mean you guess. You know she wasn't going to cooperate that's why you told me to grab him."
Leia just sat there talking to Ted. She asked, "Are you okay, Ted?"
He said, "Yeah, I'll be fine. Don't worry about me, worry about yourself."
She said, "Hey, can you tell me where my mom is, George?"
He said, "No not really."
She asked, "Why not?"
He said, "Because you won't give me what I want."
She said, "You're not going to get our money if you don't tell me."
He said with a smirk, "She's dead. Is that what you wanted to hear?"
She said, "Not really. Okay if she's dead how did you get her to say I had the money?"
George said, "I told her I would kill you if she didn't tell. She said that I couldn't do that. I asked why I couldn't. She said that you had the number memorized so I shot her."
She said, "Well you are going to have to kill me because I'm not going to tell you. I put the cards in a safe place where no one can find them."
George said, "I'm just going to have to kill your boyfriend."
Leia said, "He's not my…" Leia stopped and revered the boy at school. She asked, "Josh?"
He stopped and said, "That's not my name."
She said, "That's why you asked what am I, because you were beaten by a 5-year-old."
He pointed the gun at her and said, "That's enough." He put some duct tape over her mouth and Charlie and George both left them alone. She thought if she fell asleep, when she woke up, she would find Teddy dead.
