At noon, they finally went to Hunter's big-ass mansion in the vampire kingdom. The mansion was brightly lit, and they could hear someone shouting inside.
(a/n: the reason it's so brightly lit is that it's really cloudy there and it gets dark easily so they gotta use lights a lot)
The guards widened their eyes seeing them and opened the gates and then the door. The staff was running around and walking quickly with huge things in their hands and someone was ordering them.
"Why is Hunter's house so chaotic?" Scarlett whispered.
"Meh, you should've seen how it was when my twin sisters were born. It was full of chaos and this is just half of the chaos we had back home."
"Why is it so chaotic though?"
"Eh. it's because my mother wanted their naming ceremony to be early so its coming quick and-"
"Wait what? Naming ceremony? And it's coming quick?"
"Yeah. it's coming in a few days, so that's why we're staying here. We invited your parents, we invited the nobles, the weir-"
"Wait. I'm not ready for this kind of thing. Like I'll be exposed to everyone and who knows what they might be thinking of me."
"Meh, don't worry. Even though I'm a witch, my second most dominant side is vampires, and just like in the cliches we can read minds. So we'll protect you."
"Yeah! Don't worry Scarlett! If someone talks shit about you and try doing anything funny to you, I'll cut them in half before they can blink."
"Yup! Maa's right! You don't have to worry about what you think. If someone tried doing funny with you, we'll take care of them."
Scarlett blinked in surprise, horror, confusion, and shock. Hwei-ru and her daughter were talking about murder in bright daylight with huge smiles on their faces, and nobody thought they were crazy.
Like a mother, like a daughter, I guess.
Nobody noticed them and they didn't mind it either. They walked towards where Margret might be without anyone knowing. Cassandra opened and the servants inside bowed, then left seeing them.
The twins shouted. "Sister-in-law!"
Margret lazily looked up from her phone and her eyes lit up with joy. She sat up and clapped her hands. "Zenobia! Stellamaris! You two are here!"
They ran up to her bed and asked. "Sister-in-law, are you okay now?"
"Yup! I'm fine except for my husband."
"Why? Where is he?" Zenobia asked while looking around.
"He's in the balcony, probably crying."
"Eh? Why is big brother crying?" Stellamaris asked. "Sister-in-law, did you hit him?"
"Eh? No. he got so happy seeing our kids that he started crying. He didn't want me to see him crying, so he ran away to his favorite spot. Maybe he thought I might throw something at him since I was so done with him."
"Big brother is so weird!"
"I know right."
Hwei-ru glared at her twins and they shut their mouths. "Another word about your big brother being weird then I'll do something to you that you'll shut your mouths for life."
"Oh please! You called him a stupid, annoying mosquito and a leech a hundred times."
Hwei-ru glared at Cassandra, and she shut her mouth as well. Try to sass your mother, then I'll make sure you won't get to see daylight ever again.
"Anyway, where are my grandkids?"
"Uhh they're right here." she pointed to her right and her mother-in-law ran there excitedly. She squealed. "Oh my god! They look like you, Margret!"
Zenobia and Stellamaris peeped into the crib and made a face. "Mommy! They look like mole rats!"
Anastasia and Cassandra burst out laughing, and their mother glared at them. They stifled their laughter, and their mother glared at their twin sisters. "You idiots! Why do you think they look like mole rats?"
"But they look like mole rats! They don't look like sister-in-law at all! Sister-in-law is so pretty and they look pink and watery and white!"
"Honey, that's how babies are when they're born!" Scarlett said, and bent down to their level. "You were just like that when you were born!"
"Eh? I was a mole rat?" Scarlett nodded and little Zenobia's mind thought something else. Then big, fat tears started rolling down her cheeks. "Mommy! Sister-in-law is calling me a mole rat!"
"Well, that's something I can use in the future."
"Mommy!"
Scarlett watched the chaos unfold in front of her. They may look like a well-behaved family, but in reality, they were just as chaotic as every other family that you won't believe they were the royal family at all.
Margret whispered to her. "You're shocked, right? Seeing a well-behaved family being this chaotic?"
"Yes."
"Don't worry, they'll be normal during the naming ceremony. Also, are you questioning their maturity?" she asked while pointing towards at the two sisters cracking dumb jokes and laughing at them.
"Yes. I can't believe they are the rulers of huge kingdoms and one of them is going to become the empress soon."
"Yup. You'll get used to it. Don't worry."
