Avery wanted a pet. They had been an animal lover since childhood. In the orphanage, the owner had a lot of doggos. Everyone would play with the puppers all day if they could. (they only allowed the kids to do so TT).
The owner bought a lot of puppers for them to relieve them out of stress and to take them out of depression. If that ain't the cutest and sweetest thing ever, then they don't know what is. They would have never got out of depression if the owner didn't do that.
They had to, unfortunately, move out when they were eighteen. Avery wanted to stay there and help the orphanage, but the owner didn't allow them to do so.
He wanted them to study and pursue their goals instead. Alright, we are all going to cry. The owner is the sweetest old man out there.
They somehow got a job, and an apartment shared with five weirdos. Then they met Scarlett because of Anastasia and his majesty, sending them to look after Scarlett. Haha, you forgot they are a demon? Same, girl I forgot too.
Whatever you just read is their human life Anastasia created for them. According to her, Scarlett told her that the orphanage was an enormous place filled with like five hundred kids so you don't remember anyone easily. That and Scarlett was the quiet kid you never want to mess with.
So the puppies thing was true. College was hard for both of them, but watching cute animal videos had helped them get through it.
And even cute baby videos. Babies were the cutest little humans, and you can't change their minds. Who knew humans had suffered this much?
They somehow managed to report everything that Scarlett did and the surrounding activity without breaking their human persona.
Then came the student loan debt on them. They would've been dead and crushed by it right now, but the surgeries they did and the money they got, was enough to pay them. The government is a bitch. (no offense government)
They had an apartment shared with Scarlett. They both wanted a pet, but the landlady was a bit of a bitch. Apparently, you gotta pay pet rent for keeping a pet and not child rent.
Like bitch, they'd rather have a cat sleeping all day rather than a kid punching on the walls all day. Both of them could easily pay pet rent, but they were stingy and stubborn as hell and did not want to do so.
When they finally moved out boy, it was a relief for them! Scarlett's ex had been coming there every day as if he got nothing to do at all. He and his shitty brain were filled with nothing but mud and more bullshit.
To be honest, they kind of liked him at the start. He felt different, but then the feeling was gone, no, destroyed. Boy, was he a disappointment!
Because of Scarlett, they had suddenly got a high standard for a significant other. Hey, don't blame them, they had got into Kpop and anime at their own risk.
Alright, back to the pet thing. Should they get one? They had finally moved out of that place. This ain't their house or penthouse, and Anastasia would be the one deciding it. Meh fuck it, she won't have a thing against it.
When Scarlett was in the coma, they'd got to parks, especially dog parks, and they would play with those fluffy babies. Anastasia was a royal witch, so she would have no allergy to cats.
Margret and Hunter would have no allergy to cats either, they were vampires and vampires got no allergy at all that could kill them. They were the undead lol.
"Uh I'm going to the shelter!" they yelled by the door.
"K bruh."
"Ok."
"Bring me a chocolate when you're coming back." Scarlett and Avery literally gave Anastasia the bruh look. You literally own a company that makes chocolate and you can get it for free, yet your ass asks for one.
Scarlett shook her head in disbelief. "So you're going to the shelter?"
"Yup."
"K, bring a pupper and kitten home."
Anastasia blinked. "Wait, you're going to the shelter? To adopt a pet?"
"No, I'm going there to clean their poop." Margret and Hunter smiled. That was a good one.
"Okay, but if they allow you to adopt one, ya know as salary. I'll be the one to be naming them." The weird couple burst out laughing. The sarcasm was destroying!
Avery rolled their eyes and closed the door. When they came home with a box in their hands, it was four in the evening. They couldn't knock or ring the doorbell. Avery huffed and used their elbow to ring their doorbell.
Scarlett opened the door and took the box from them. That's a relief, they thought, I didn't know why I'll drop it down. "I couldn't get a kitten, but I got two puppers instead. They perfectly fight the title of Lumos and Nox."
Scarlett opened it and pronounced an entire word smash. Inside, there were two puppies, black and white, sleeping on the rug placed at the bottom.
The weird couple rushed to Scarlett and cooed. Oh my god, why are they so cute?! They were about to do the same thing as Scarlett, but she whispered-yelled-threatened at them. "Don't you dare! Let them sleep you monsters!"
Avery stretched as they yawned. "Where's miss CEO though?"
"She's downstairs, getting the pet thingies."
"Eh? That quick? I was gone for like two or three hours."
"Yup, she did it when you were gone, duh."
