Chapter 2 - Chapter One: The Crew

It's quiet. Too quiet. I trudge across the mud as silently as I can. These wetlands are swarming with goblins. But where? I hear a thwip. An arrow. It hits the tree next to me. Then another. Now three. I only have one thought: Run.

So I run. As I run, I see a blur. As my eyes adjust, I see them. The goblins. One falls. The goblins turn. I stop and duck behind a rock. I call out to confirm my suspicion, "Cyrene?"

"Over here!" she replies. I trace the sound of her voice to an elf, wood elf to be exact.

Long brown hair, green eyes, and copper skin. She's a hunter and very handy with a bow. I run over and pull out my spellbook. I'm searching for a spell to decimate these gobli-

Suddenly an arrow hits me in the hand. As it rips through my flesh, I hear a voice ringing through my head, "And....it hits! You take 1d4 piercing damage!"

Let me clear something up: I'm playing D&D. That was Charles, the DM. *Sigh* "3 Damage."

"Alright" says Charles, "We'll finish with that. Remember Vance, you need a miniature next session, no more excuses. Okay?"

"Yeah, yeah, okay. I'll find one."

It's not just the three of us playing D&D, that's not the best way to do it.

Also, "Cyrene" is Irene's character. Not that creative of a name, but she insisted. Irene looks a lot different than her character, with reddish-brown hair, brown eyes, and pale skin.

Next, we have Xavier, who plays a Dwarf Barbarian.

He looks very similar to his character, with hazel brown skin, blue eyes, and black hair, though his is short and Baldrige (his character) has long hair and a beard.

And then there's Charles, our DM. Not much to say, because he basically plays every other character, so he doesn't really have a main character. The tallest of us, which makes sense because he's a year older. Dark brown skin, blue hair (he dyed it), blue eyes (he put in contacts to make them look blue, they're actually grayish green). He just really likes the colour blue.

He's the most popular of all of us, I never really questioned it, he just was.

And finally, we have me. I'm....just me.

Blonde hair, green eyes, pale skin. Nothing special. I play a Dragonborn cleric, as usual, no one else wanted to play a cleric. It's fine, I've found a fun way to play one.

But that's our crew. Only one more than I mentioned before, but that's because we were on our way to save him from an eternal living hell. Again.

"Alright! Pizza on me tonight!" calls out Xavier. He got a job recently, and sometimes he has the illusion that he has infinite money. Luckily, he doesn't have to pay for things like bills, groceries, and everything else. We're still only 15 (well 16 for Charles), we've still got a ways to go until then. "Sorry, I can't. I have to find a miniature, remember?"

"Oh, yeah. See you next meeting then? When is that?" Charles was ready with a reply, Xavier asks this every time. "Two weeks, on Wednesday."

"Great! Well Vance, I'll see you then!"

"Okay, bye."

"Bye!"

Xavier is like our little brother. He's super energetic and enthusiastic at all times.

Guess I should probably go find that miniature somewhere...
