Day 58- after having satisfied zest and placing the tower that connects the ear devices I bid farewell. It took me till mid day to do this as snakes mate for a long time.
While I was in their domain I chose to spar with some of their warriors barehanded, they've seen me in action so didn't hold back. Unfortunately for them I learned how to wrestle crocs from the best (Steve Irwin).
After slamming several of them into the ground I claimed my victory. They awarded me a nice fang necklace made from some of the best vipers they've encountered.
Another thing I did while in the village is research their culture a bit. They have underwater farms for breeding specific fish, they even have a trail that takes them up to the ice region where a different settlement exists. They trade between each other frequently which explains the variety of the lizard men.
I asked zest if fishmen exist here and she explained that only mermen exist. The rest are mindless monsters that get killed onsite. When I asked about mermaids she got a little defensive. Lamia and mermaids have a rivalry between each other in this world as they often steal each other's lovers.
Sirens are an evolution of mermaids, they gain an enhanced voice ability that makes them even more manipulative. Lamia don't use their voice but their pheromones/ poison to seduce males. I was glad to learn this information as Rou never visited an aquatic country.
Zest promised that next time she encounters a mermaid she'll kill her and give me the meat so I can gain the underwater breathing trait. I was a little shocked that she knew I gained skills and traits from eating but then again she did stalk me for abit.
After giving her a very deep french kiss, gotta love that snake tongue, I left and headed back to the mine. Along the way I met up with Rou and the redhead, her eyes had changed meaning she became a noir soldier.
"Oh the redhead powered up huh?" She got excited "you can tell ?!?" So I nodded "yeah, your covered in much more blood than before and your grilling Rou much tighter than you could before". I then continued explaining how I could tell her strength.
This led to me explaining how to measure an opponent's power level which branches out to battle analysis and hunting tips. Rou said nothing but I noticed his ears perked at some of my advice.
So when I returned home I helped map out the forest, using those towers Rou was able to create a very defined map. I clicked my tongue when he described that the girls referred to as the cartographer job. They couldn't believe he had jobs as well as monster evolution.
This led to Yamamoto I mean old Ji, you know what screw it. He's Yamamoto now, I don't care what people say, I get confused between him and hobuji the healer.
Anyway Yamamoto explained about hybrids and half monsters. It was ahead of the timeline but I'm living here so things need changed. Plus characters from different series have been added to suit the world. I thank the goddess for this.
Day 59- not much happened today except for the higher than normal injury rate amongst the goblins. I offered for me and Chi to go wipe them out but Rou decided that insanity squad would be a hidden trump card.
Me and chi have reached third evolution which puts us at the highest among the camp. We also gained a new member~ Yamamoto. The old man began hunting once he regained what he called "his youthful flame". The human girls forged him a katana and sewed him a shihakusho as per my instruction. His old walking cane was used to hide the blade.
When he came back extra peppy from his hunts we knew he was growing stronger. He evolved into a half flame lord granting him the ability to wield flames naturally. He cloaks his blade in them to send out devastating attacks. Thought he restricts this so he doesn't burn down the forests. This led to him developing the skill to compress heat into his blade amping up the cutting power.
So he was the third member to join insanity, I think Rou just made us the bad batch of the group rather than the spec ops. I asked the two what our strategy should be and they replied "smash/slash whatever is in the way". Yup we're the thugs of the group. I asked Sato to join and she grew a little offended.
It was cute watching her pout then storm off to Sei who ruthlessly cut her down verbally. "Eh? But you also choose to cut up anything in your way. Isn't insanity meant to be the wrecking crew or something?"
Sato became depressed and started drawing circles on the floor. It grew worse when Kichi walked up to her and put his hand on her shoulder. She turned to look at him with hope in her eyes, that vanished when he said "it's what your good at, so that's we're you belong". His bluntness physically hurt her. She almost coughed blood which would be impressive for a half blood lord.
After that I spent the day consoling her then pampering her which led to the other girls getting jealous. It was a shit show for me personally, especially when they smelt zest's pheromones. The hannya mask floating behind them when they asked why I still smell like her made me tremble a little. Until I remembered that I was a man! A manly man! Who got his balls grabbed when he tried to defend himself.
They grabbed me by my one weak point, but I persisted and dominated them throughout the night. Which led me to sleep through most of day 60.
Day 60- I slept till about mid day before heading to the cafeteria and stuffing myself. I needed the carbs~ this followed an intense training session before I went back to sleep.
You thought that was the whole day? Think again! As I was asleep in my bed I was awoken by a god awful smell. As I stirred awake I found the girls had noticed it as well. From the ear cuffs the sound do Rou's voice echoed out.
"We're under attack, all people to battle stations!!" I slipped on my armour and grabbed my blades. Flash stepping to the entrance I was greeted with a White Sea of skeleton heads.
Their bodies were leaking {undead miasma and death mana}. As a mana sensitive species I could smell them, I don't need to explain how a cadaver smells to you do I? Cause there was a literal army of them marching towards us.
Ignoring the smell I rushed towards the army with my blade ignited, I went full sith army on them but found that my blades were ineffective. Sato then screamed out that physical damage is the only way to hurt them.
We don't have an archpriest (and I don't want one) so we just punched and kicked our way through. Sei started using earth magic to shoot boulders at them and the rest of the goblins and kobalts that Rou recruited began using the blunt weapons that needed sharpened to smash them.
After a while Rou called me and my squad back, he told us to lay off and let the others train against the skeletons. Chi smashed them to bits and Yamamoto used his cane to crush them. I wonder if he has the cane arts skill? There was a manga I used to read about a guy with that as a skill.
I decided to try some of the skeletons to see if I could gain anything from them. Turns out I gained a lot.
{ slashing, piercing and mana resistance gained, Increased bone density accquired, nullify negative status, cold and lightning attacks gained, mana absorption trait gained, death mana gained.}.
It was an impressive haul for me, I smacked on different types of skeletons like the swordsmen, archers and even the lich that Rou crushed at the end.
He made a big spectacle of him ending the army when half of our generation could do it with ease. It still inspired the troops to train harder and spread loyalty among the new kobalts. I stopped caring and dragged the girls to bed after washing up. Smashing skulls makes a man sweat~
