«WAM book one» [ 16+ ] If you ask Sam, she'd say she's a monster. A nice monster, but no less dangerous. She thinks the same of her own friends, so close they're nearly family.
She didn't ask for this life, it was forced upon her one frigid winter evening. As it turned out, she owed her life to a pair of curious children, smart enough to shout for help as Sam lie beneath the beast, drenched in her own blood. She didn't ask for it, but it's hers nonetheless. So she embraces her inner monster and uses it to hunt down the very one that turned her. To bring him in safely or to end him war in her mind. She longs for vengeance, but can't hurt his brother.
In all this chaos, Sam has one rock, in Ada. An enigma, or as her best friend, Charlotte, put it once, a cryptid; Ada knocks her off her feet and then keeps her tantalizingly close to the truth of her cagey history.
If not for Ada, the drive to bring down her attacker would be all consuming. She would like to think she's better than murder, but is she really?
