She woke up with a moan. It was the most comfortable sleep she had in a very long time. The bed was so soft and big. It almost felt like sleeping in the clouds.
Turning around, she opened her eyes and saw her handsome savior standing and looking over the large window across the room, his naked back turned to her.
He was pulling a shirt over his head and she watched silently as his muscles rippled in each movement. A beast was drawn on the left side of his back. It was beautifully drawn.
Perhaps it defined him. A beautiful beast.
She almost laughed at her own thoughts. She couldn't believe she was helplessly checking out the man who saved her and who was now keeping her like a prisoner.
He rolled his shoulders back, stretching out his arms. Then he walked towards the bathroom. She waited for a while until she heard the shower running. Stretching out her tired arms, she sat up from the bed and looked around the room.
The bedroom itself was really huge for just one person. How come he didn't feel so lonely here? She couldn't imagine having a bedroom as big as this.
Standing up, she walked quietly towards the doors and took a deep breath. Hopefully, this would be her chance to escape. Although, deep down, she had the feeling he'd find her no matter where she end up.
He was like a curse. A spell she couldn't escape from. It terrified her.
Just before he could turn the knob, she heard a growl behind her, "Where do you think you're going?"
Turning around, she gazed at him and gulped nervously. Staring at her intently were his eyes, dark and dilated. She could see his remained calmness over the angry beast inside him, begging to be unleashed.
His hands were clenched in fists tightly by his sides and she couldn't help but notice his muscles beneath his white shirt. Teardrops of water slowly ran down his hair. She took a few steps back as he strided towards her.
"You're not trying to leave, are you?" he demanded, his voice promising punishment.
Bumping against the wall, she shook her head. "N-No."
He slammed a hand on the wall beside her head. "Liar," he accused roughly, his eyes burning holes through her face. Before she could say anything, he leaned down and grabbed her waist, easily throwing her over his shoulder.
He opened the door and walked out of his room. She began protesting but he kept a firm grip around her waist so she didn't fall. As soon as she heard another set of doors opening, he put her down on a stool and she faced the kitchen.
"Stay," he ordered seriously, looking at her straight in the eye.
"Whatever," she said, not having the energy to argue early in the morning.
He stepped towards the stove and started doing things. Bored, she placed her arms on the table and leaned her chin on her hands. She watched him silently, his back turned to her. She watched as his muscles bulged in each movement.
His tattoo on the left side of his back and down his arm resembled a large wolf. It seemed so alive, which reminded her of yesterday. That wolf still lived in her memory and she wouldn't forget the image of it.
He turned around suddenly and caught her staring at him. She blushed and looked away. Just then, she smelled something delicious as he placed a plate of omelette in front of her.
"You need to eat," he stated, his tone not accepting any answer from her. She looked warily at him and began to eat the food since she was desperately hungry.
At first bite, her eyes widened. It tasted really delicious. He was good at this. She didn't know whether to be jealous or thankful. She could never be good at cooking.
Her father had always been the cook in her family. When her mother was still alive, she used to teach her how to bake and since then she had always been good at baking but never at cooking.
He took a glass of juice and brought it to her. She couldn't help but feel as if he was babysitting her like she couldn't take care of herself. Although, at the same time, she felt cared for. Did he really expect her to think that he sincerely cared for her?
He sat in front of her and watched her until she finished her food. After she finished her juice, he stood up and took her off her seat, dragging her out of the kitchen.
He had her hand in a firm grip and she dug in her heels on the floor. He stopped, turning around to look at her, his brows furrowed in question.
"I'm not going anywhere with you," she said. She wanted to have a say in this. He couldn't just drag her anywhere around and expect her to follow. He took her away for heaven's sake!
She should be loathing him. This wasn't how you treat a girl right.
"Don't test my patience," he warned darkly. "You're coming with me whether you like it or not."
"No," she said firmly. His jaw clenched and his eyes darkened. She matched his own intense stare. He didn't let anything register his mind as he quickly swept her off her feet and carried her in his arms.
She started to protest but he kept ignoring her, acting as if he couldn't hear her. She gave up.
He took her towards a room. She heard some noise and men talking. Then, silence. She turned her head to look around but he covered her head with his large hand and kept her face hidden and nuzzled into his neck.
She could smell his scent. He smelt just as good as he smelled last night. Her hair covered her face so she couldn't see anything. She felt him walking then he stopped.
He set her down on a high table so that she was sitting and her feet were left dangling above the floor. She blew away strands of her hair out of her face as he stood between her legs and cupped her face, forcing her to look up at him.
"Stay," he commanded yet again, and the fact that it made her feel like a child was nauseating.
"Yes, daddy," she mocked, defeated.
She watched him look down at her with burning eyes. Then he gazed down at her lips, his thumb softly rubbing the bottom.
"Watch your words, baby doll. You don't know what you're doing."
She didn't know what he was trying to say until she felt it. A soft gasp escaped her lips, feeling something hardening against her. She felt her cheeks heating up as he smirked at her.
It didn't help that the way he was looking at her right now was somehow hot in her perspective. Butterflies erupted in her stomach. He was truly beautiful when he smiled.
She looked down shyly and he kissed the tip of her nose. Surprised, she gazed up at him.
"Alpha Bourne," someone called behind him, interrupting their silence. He pressed her face against his chest, wrapping his strong arms around her in a defense manner, and looked back at the man.
"What?" he demanded impolitely.
"We have a problem."
