I spent the next few days at Isabel's home. I did not realize until later just before I was to leave that Tsvo had brought me to the Preynees Mountains that she called home. She was of Basque decent so her understanding of the world far different people in cities and towns. I realized to that her home was old in a sense ancient in its construction and time here.
I heard her laugh behind me, "Young wolf, I am so old I have seen this world go from magic to just humans." Her laugh was musical, I did not see fangs or anything that mark her as different from others.
"How is that possible?" I asked.
"There is far more things in this world then meets the eye. I am alive only because the powers that be want me to. I have seen and done many things, helped heal in wars and helped birth many babies. Watched those babies die not knowing when my time would come." She looked off at the valley below. "Life is a blessing, even for the elderly. It is meant to allow the spirit to age and learn in segments. Processing slowly and easily. Magical folk like us are very few." Looking at me with her liquid warm brown eyes, she added. "Your lifetimes have been many. You carry great power. I have no doubt that you will bring great honor to your bloodline. Know that I am here should you need healing again." She picked up a pebble from the ground at her feet. I heard her whisper something to it. It glowed a bright golden color. Handing it to me, "should you need me hold this stone and say my name, it will bring you here."
Taking the stone, I looked to see that it looked so ordinary even sun warm to the touch. "Thank you," I said.
We both heard the sound of the dragon coming. I won't say I didn't have some fear in my chest for a few moments. Until I seen Tvso appear just before he landed. "You called My Lady?" The dragon bowed to Isabel.
"I did, the young wolf is ready to go home." She put her arm around me. "Take good care of her." She mentioned the one who took her was black with red eyes." Isabel added.
I watched the white dragon before me, golden eyes flash white for just over a second before returning to their gold. "Understood. Young wolf are you ready for your ride home?" He asked.
"Yes, sir" I said. I really did not know how to address a dragon.
I heard a rumble start, followed by a thunderous laugh. "I have forgotten what it is like for those who do not know the old ways." The rumble remained but at a lower level.
"It is nice to see a new generation coming." Isabel gave me a quick hug. "Remember the rock child." She stepped back and I seen Tvso's head come to rest infront of her. I watched her kiss the dragon's nose and heard what sounded like a purr mixed with a hum.
"Soul mates." Tala said. You could tell she was completely certain on it.
"Is she a dragon too?" I asked Tala.
"She smells like dragon but when she touched us I felt human. So likely half and half based on how old she is." Tala thought a moment before she spoke.
"I would not know how that can happen." I wondered.
Tala laughed, "just like anything else, dragons can shift like us. Things happen in ways only magic can provide." She couldn't think of any other way to put it.
"Are you ready?" I heard Tvso's voice in my head.
"I am." I nodded. He rose into the air, hovering he waited until I was just below him. A bubble formed around me this time. A seat in silver formed. As I sat, a clear shield formed around it.
"What is this?" I asked him.
"They know you are out and they are hunting you. Once you leave this place, They will be able to track you. This is an ancient way to move people quietly and with no way to track." He lifted me into the air, Isabel smiled and waved below.
"She will be safe?" I asked him.
"Yes," He growled. "They cannot track her, here. I installed protections and ancient guards to watch her always."
I waved my goodbye to her. "I thank you for allowing me to come to be healed by her." I appericated it greatly.
"You are welcome young wolf." Was all he said. As he lifted me up higher and higher into the sky.
***************************
I woke up to see we were descending down below the clouds. "Are we close?" I asked.
"Yes, very but that dragon who took you is here." I heard him growl.
"Oh," was the only reply I could muster.
"You needn't worry, I will make short work of him." He paused a moment, "I do require you to stay out of sight."
"How would you like me to do that?" I was stuck as to hiding from a dragon.
"Stay in this bubble. I am going to open the side so he can get your position but as soon as he starts coming I will close it when he is close. Stay here until you see your wolf Lada." He instructed.
"Of course, Thank you for all your help." I knew he had risked something to do to help me.
"You are welcome. You have a pretty important future ahead." He dropped me near the cave to the old ruins I had saved Mackie at.
