Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

A small cat lazily rolls around inside of a small tent-like stall inside of a busy marketplace. He has grayish fur with a few white stripes along its side. The cat has big oval-shaped eyes that are a deep bluish color. It lives in a small stall inside of one of the most well-known marketplaces in a huge Eastern City.

This City is named the City of Palms, due to the giant Tree that has lived here for more than a thousand years. The marketplace named Gavanufia Bazar, this Bazar sells many things, from clothes, spices, fruits, and other things. Many people of different races gather here. Humans, Dwarves, Jackalmen, Orcs, and many others.

It is based next to the giant Palm tree, a sprawling area with many stalls and buildings, they are mostly very simple, cube or rectangular structures, but they are full of color, with vibrant curtains and clothes out for display.

People yell out, advertising their goods and camels walk the street, snorting. A few orcs grunt as they walk down the street, a Dwarf slams a hammer on a hot piece of metal, sending sparks flying. Birds chirp overhead as they dart around, looking for fallen pieces of food or product.

Jackalmen, stout tall people with the heads of Jackal growl and shout and bargain with merchants over food. A huge Minotaur snorts and bends its head as it makes it's way underneath an embroidered tarp.

A grizzled old wizard smiles as he makes a small orb of water float overhead, fish swim inside the orb curiously, children look at the wizard in awe, clapping and yelling. The small cat meows as it stretches itself.

This small cat lives inside of the small stall known as Gregori's Spices, a small shop owned by a white-furred Werewolf from the land of Falling Snow to the North. Gregori walks inside, he has messy long white hair and a shaggy beard.

His eyes are a bluish color and his skin calloused and rough. He wears a plain gray robe with a pair of bamboo sandals. Gregori sports a wide grin and has an upright cheerful personality, even though he can turn into a giant ferocious wolf-like creature that can easily rip a whale in two.

"Heya Moon!" Gregori bent down and greeted the cat known as Moon. Moon looked up and licked his hand. He tosses a small carp to Moon which the cat gleefully started to bite it. Gregori sat down and started to sigh and soon a loud snoring sound could be heard. Moon looked at him and saw that he had fallen asleep.

Moon lazily looked as people of different ages, sizes, and races passed. He saw giant orcs, with their menacing-looking tusks and tattoos along their shoulders. They wore fur pelts and other animal parts, huge axes and blades were strapped to their backs. Humans, wearing shorts, cloaks and other manners of things, noble Elves, gracefully walking through the crowds, with elegant dresses and tunics, holding bows and daggers, and many more species walked among them. Moon chews on the fish, meowing softly.

Then, Moon walks over to the corner of the shop and takes out a leather-bound book. The title reads "World Guide to Fish" Moon flipped his paw to the first page and settles down reading. Yes, Moon can read…

"POV CHANGE"

"Haah!" "Mere mortal!" Some call me possibly the smartest Cat in the world. I am smart I guess… I learned the universal tongue of all animals and beasts at three months, called Animagalian, I also know the language of Cats. But my grand achievement is learning the writings of Humans, a prominent species, humans are very profound and mysterious I feel, besides making wonderful meals I shall say they are very strange creatures, they wear strange clothing and do weird gestures, such as weirdly pointing that one finger in the middle of there hand and shouting angrily at others.

The rest of those creatures are weird, the Orcs are sort of like pigs, they are very gluttonous and some most likely have brains the size of an ant… Elves are nice, they like Cat's, they give us food. Dwarves are angry and scary, they yell at us waving their stubby hands in the air when all we do is politely "liberate" some food from them.

So anyway, today was quite uneventful, no brawls or interesting things happened. That is, until the sunset and the moon rose. You see, Gregori is a very heavy sleeper so he did not notice the commotion, but I did, I did. Cat's like me are nocturnal, we stay up all night and sometimes get up during the day. But this night was strange, I was curled up and nothing was to be heard. Only the sound of the occasional cattle mooing in the distance and Gregori's loud snoring.

Geez, aren't werewolves supposed to be nocturnal too? Anyway, I am just minding my own business, living my cat life while occasionally reading a few pages from my holy bible the "World Guide to Fish" an extremely profound book that details all a cat's dream in a single book when suddenly I heard a commotion ahead of me to the right of the stall. I could see a human being chased by some cloaked figures.

"Nya?" As a cat like me has incredible vision I can see them. A blond-haired man runs down the street towards me. He wore bright golden armor and had a sword equipped by his side, in one of his hands was a black book. Seeing as us cats are very smart I could see that the scary cloaked people were after that book in the man's hands. The cloaked guys were creepy, they have like plain white masks with two holes in them.
