Deep in the woods,
in a clearing with very little
sunlight, a figure garbed in
worn looking adventurer's gear,
is being surrounded by eleven
other people, with relatively
finer looking leather amour. One of them, a young man
armed with a fancy sword,
walks over from the front of
the encirclement.
"Hey old man, a little Birdy told
me you found something nice,
hand it over",he says with a
smirk on his handsome-ish
face.
The man, with a slight frown on
his face replies.
"If you are talking about the
'Troll's Bane', I can't give that to
you, most importantly since
when did House 'Hartley's 'young master' become a
bandit?".
"Oh!? so you recognize me,
well, it matters not, just hand it
over..Now!!." the young man
shouted.
*sigh* "Do I have to do this all
the time." the man mumbles.
"What did you say!?." the boy asked.
A baleful Aura creeps into the
surrounding. "Oh, you are about
to find out my boy." said the
man, his voice carrying a
terrifying chill in it.
"Eek!! kill him!!." the young man
screams! in fear. The others all
rush forward with the young
man leaving or rather escaping
the encirclement.
The man rushes forward, and
the fight begins....
___
*Thud*, the last man falls after
the battle that lasted only a few
minutes, heavy breathing is the
only sound in the otherwise
quiet woods.
"Why did you leave us alive, are
you not afraid of my retaliation
or, are afraid of what my house
will do because of my death?." the young man said.
*scof* "It wouldn't matter if you
were dead to me, I just find it a
chore to kill arrogant punks like you nowadays." said the
'old' man while sitting on a
neatly cut tree trunk.
"What's your name kid." he
continued.
"I thought you knew me?." the
young man asked back.
"not very smart I see." he said
smilingly, "I recognized the
crest on your men's armour."
he tells the young man, while
pointing with his chin toward a downed man.
"Oh." he replied, "it's Galen" he
continued while finally facing
the man who handed his and
his men's asses to them.
"So, why did you leave us alive
then?." he stared at the man.
"This question again?." he said
while raising one of his brows,
"Well, I've seen a lot of times
when they kill your kind, your
dad shows up, and after killing
him, your grandfather shows
up too, and then the cycle
continues, it's pretty much a
chore isn't it?." he said with a
shrug. "keeping you alive instead lessens the chances of
you returning, that is if you're
smart enough to realize how
overwhelmingly powerful I am
compared to your family" he
said in a serious tone.
"true.", Galen replied.
...
After a suffocating silence for
Galen, it is finally broken by the
man. "do you want to hear a secret boy?."
"do I have a choice?." Galen
groaned.
"Ha!,you don't" he replied.
"Anyways, I will tell you about
'The Chosens', listen well boy
this may save your life one day.
In our myriads of worlds, they
are certain people chosen by
the 'World', they pass through
trails and get stronger,more
powerful,leaving a
blazing trail in their path, with
such speed, that it causes you
to stop and think about how
the 'World' is cheating so blatantly."
"Let me guess, you are one of
Them?."Galen said not showing
any shock.
"don't interrupt, and no I am not
one of them." the man replied,
with his voice filled with anger
for being interrupted.
"as I was saying, in all the lives
I've life, I have seen several of
them go through their trials,
either climbing from the
bottom to the top, or falling
from the top only to climb back
stronger than ever, I have seen
many geniuses that lost their
talents, gain unexpected power
from strange encounters,or
young masters of fallen
houses who finally reach the
top, heck even slaves, servants,
people presumed dead, even
people who have been crippled,
or have their betrothed annul their
marriages, I've seen betrayed gods,
experts, generals, that
somehow return or find
themselves in the past, and
plan to take revenge, I have
also seen people transfer over
from other worlds, the lists goes far too long to count, over the lives I could remember, I made
it a priority to find them and
watch them grow, because of
how entertaining their stories
are." he ended with a nostalgic
look on his face.
"with the way you are now you
may end up as some washed
unimportant character with an
insignificant part in their story."
he continued with a light grin.
*ugh* "what about you then?."
Galen groaned. " you keep
mentioning many lives, what's
your own story." he said still
looking annoyed.
"me?., I'm among a group of people who
keep their memories even after
reincarnating unto many different lives
and not go crazy, of course we
are restricted, or it would have
another crazy cheat." he said
with a frown.
"as for my story I don't think
there's much to talk about, I
mean I did become powerful
to watch them more closely
and not be bothered by others,
but there's nothing interesting
if that's what you're asking." he
finished.
"did you ever meet them again
?." asked Galen.
"no..,not the same ones, I did
try to leave 'marks' to tell each
world, but it seems I never
return to the same place each
time." he replied with a soft sigh
"so what you're saying is that I
wouldn't know who they might be so
I should be careful not to
offend them?." Galen asked
even though he knew that was
what he meant.
"bingo!." the man said while
snapping his finger.
"let tell you about this boy he..."
he started telling Galen about a
'Chosen' from one of his lives.
....
..Several stories and lives later.
"Wow. those are really...
interesting." Galen said while
stretching in his seated
position he took during one of the
stories.
"Indeed. *sigh* it's getting late
I should get going, your men
will be waking up soon." the
man said while looking at the
sky.
Looking at the man who was
already leaving while
hesitating, Galen finally says
"hey old man, did you ever...
think of using all this, to make
your own story?."
"huh?. not really, I'm more of a
spectator, you could say I'm
just a 'Watcher'." he said with a
smile. His back getting farther.
"what's your name!., where can
I find!." Galen shouts out while
cupping his hands over his
mouth.
"Hahaha!!. The name's Eleanor,
and let fate decide our next
meeting, hahaha!!." his laughter
fading with the wind.
With the men besides him
groaning themselves awake
Galen mumbles.
"Eleanor, huh?... my instincts tell me
this time, might be your own story."
Even he, the one who will later
be known as 'The Fifth Eye of
Foresight' didn't know how true
he words will be in the future.
...
Somewhere in the outskirts.
Eleanor is seen leaving the
Woods when a sudden sound
*ding*[ hidden requirements ]

"Ehh??. a 'World Piece'".
