Chapter 6 - VI: Survivor

To him, it only felt as if the whole world had been silenced and with it came the feeling of relief. Only after a couple minutes did Aedan recover his senses and upon giving a quick look around realized he wasn't in his old wooden cottage.

In fact, he was in a strange place where everything was far bigger than anything he saw. The entire horizon was overflowing with sky-touching towers of glass and this extended until the eye could see.

'Adam Hart'

For some reason a name came to his mind despite having no idea how this name nor all this information were on his mind. Memories that were suposed to be forgotten came back like a lightning bolt in a clear sky.

His true origins, a starship crash, and the faces of two people staring lovingly at him from behind a large glass.

The revelation brought clarity to his existence and ignited a fire within him. Aedan's determination intensified; he was no longer just the outcast of Yellow Wood Village, but a survivor with a mission to confront the demons of his past.

Most of these were too much for a mere five-year old to remember yet it all came back to him like it was but a distant dream.

Either way, he understood now, just like how he and his parents weren't truly bounded by blood they still took care of him and made him feel love for the first time since loosing his real parents.

This familiar love made so much difference for his young self he even forgot the trauma of losing it all once.

"I remember now, I'm not from here. It's there I belong." Mumbled as his gaze turned to the stars as if searching for the place he belonged.

His head hurt a lot as groundbreaking revelations came upon him. His emotions were chaotic and he was very scared by the situation and the ways the people were acting around him only made it worse.

As the ship crashed upon a mountain, the little Aedan saw a large wheel with a nine-pointed star in the middle, each pointer connected a different color of gemstone.

Red, Blue, Pink, Black, Yellow, Green, Purple, Silver and Gold.

His body glowed in a total of nine colors that formed a crystal layer around him right before the moment of impact and it was exactly this moment that saved him.

Aedan knelt down and cried his heart out for the many years he had been clueless about it.

"Ahhhh!" As the tears flowed fell upon his hand, he held it firmly before opened his hand. With it, a burst with light flashed past his eyes before it turned into one pale-blue crystal and two red crystals.

"Mommy, Daddy, I remember it all... I won't forget it ever again. That goes for them as well, there's still a pending debt with those demon worshipers."

Aedan was still furious at the Sacred Soul Sect for what they did to him and his friends. Anger, sadness and frustration as well many other emotions he was keeping to himself all broke free at that moment.

Before all of this, he couldn't understand what the colors meant but with a single look at the crystals and Aedan saw it.

Picking up the remaining red crystal from earlier, Aedan held it next to the other two. The three crystals resonated almost immediately and so did Aedan as he felt a burning sensation down at his waist.

With a thought, Aedan summoned his belt which hugged his waist like the previous time. The difference, however, was that the belt didn't come alone this time.

An white marble-like suit of material identical to the belt appeared as it merges seamlessly with Aedan's body.

"Insert Heartspark!" Following his instincts, he inserted the three red Heartsparks onto the slots. As the anger resonates within the stones, layers of crimson crystals enveloped Aedan's form and soon the figure of the young man was nowhere to be seen.

.....

Five months later, near the crashing site.

Rayan, Luke and Anne were fleeing in a panic. Their hearts were heavy and they wore grave expressions.

As students in the Sword Kingdom's First Academy of Knights, they had come to the Ironwood Forest in a field trip.

A total of twenty, led by a Cleaning Stage Knight, but due to their inexperienced Rayan and six other students, strayed from their fellow brothers.

Without any experience in the wild, these kids were totally lost and if it wasn't enough, they had to provoke a nest of Frostbite Spiders.

Even an average martial practitioner at the Cleansing stage would have to yield against the combined battle prowess of hundreds grape-sized Frostbite Spiders, much less a bunch of early core formation kids like them.

These spiders were all powerful monsters comparable to mid core formation with a paralyzing toxin that can affect even those in the late core formation.

In less than a hour, four of their previous group of seven had fallen remaining only Rayan and his two friends.

However, they didn't catch a single glimpse of the spiders after minutes. They started to grow suspicious.

Looking back, Anne finally felt that something was wrong. She signaled everyone to turn around while remaining in their defensive formation, and started to scrutinize the horizon behind them.

There something else standing between them and the spiders!

"This…"

It was a person, clad in a crimson armor that exudes an aura of raw power and aggression. It's outer crystal layer an intense red hue, pulsating with an inner fury.

Sharp, angular lines and intricate patterns are etched across the crystalline surface, resembling flames frozen in time. The armor's plating is reminiscent of volcanic rock, with jagged edges and a texture that conveys a sense of danger.

The air crackled with tension as a horde of grape-sized monsters known as frostbite spiders scuttled toward him, their icy blue eyes glinting in the dappled sunlight.

As the first spider lunged forward, Aedan's eyes blazed with determination. He swiftly moved, the armor he wore was granting him agility and strength beyond ordinary limits. With a lightning-fast motion, he unsheathed the twin blades formed from the jagged edges of his Red Heartspark armor.

Each swing of his blades was a display of controlled fury. The crystalline edges sliced through the air, leaving trails of fiery energy. The frostbite spiders, though small in size, were relentless in their attack. They scuttled and leaped, their icy fangs and venomous bites poised to strike.

Aedan moved with precision, his movements synchronized with his armor's heightened reflexes. He parried the spiders' strikes effortlessly, deflecting their icy mandibles and countering with swift slashes of his own. The fiery drones formed by the ejected Red Heartsparks danced around him, shooting bursts of searing flames at the horde, reducing the spiders to nothing more than vaporized frost.

As the battle raged on, Aedan's anger intensified, fueling his every strike.

The ground beneath him shook as he unleashed a mighty roar, releasing a shockwave of fiery energy that sent the remaining frostbite spiders flying backward. The forest around him trembled in response.

An overwhelming and fiery anger flowed through his every cell yet these emotions didn't affect his inner heart which was cold as ice. All the accumulated anger was converted into pure power, leaving his mind in a state of complete focus.

With a final surge of power, Aedan leaped into the air, his crystalline armor trailing flames. He descended upon the remaining spiders, his blades carving through their ranks with unmatched precision. The forest echoed with the sounds of shattering ice and the crackling of flames.

When the last spider lay defeated, Aedan stood amidst the aftermath, his chest heaving with exertion. The armor hummed with residual energy, still pulsating with the essence of anger. The forest, once teeming with frostbite spiders, was now calm, save for the smoldering remnants of their icy existence.

"Wow! What was that?!" Anne was highly impressed by the sight.

"How is that possible?" Rayan exclaimed.

The three of them stared in absolute astonishment. Their mouths were opened wide in their shock and their eyeballs were threatening to pop out of their sockets.

Their shock was not because of the power they just witnessed but once it was over, the crystals in the armor shattered revealing a snow white figure standing over the hundreds of frostbite spiders.
