The two of them played the racing game while waiting for the noodles to be done. In the first round, Lenoir won, and Matt won in the second. But before they started their third round, Sydney had finished cooking the instant noodles, so she went back to the living room as she held the whole saucepan. She placed a dry cloth on the coffee table, then distributed the chopsticks.
"I'll get some bowls," Matt said.
But Sydney grabbed his wrist, saying, "We're all going to eat in the saucepan." And at the back of her head, she didn't want to do the dishes, because for sure, these two boys wouldn't. They'd be too busy watching each other's backs.
The three of them took turns in eating. Sydney sat in the middle to prevent them from fighting further. Sometimes, though, Matt would hit Lenoir's hand, then they would bicker.
"It's my turn to eat," Lenoir told him, "You sure do have a habit of taking what's not yours."
