Chapter 5 - "The Class President's Cupidity"

Matt grinned when he heard her answer. He knew it; she's really an interesting girl.

Juana didn't like Sydney to have her crush's attention, so she placed her hand on the orc lady's arm, saying, "Stop it! How dare you act like that to our VIP! Apologize, now!"

"I won't!" Sydney exclaimed, still gripping Matt's collar, "It's really his fault! He removed me from the Music Club just because I didn't want to be his friend!"

"Sydney!" Juana shouted, trying to pull her arms from him, "Don't be such a fool. You think you're someone special to Mr. Duncan? Dream on!"

Sydney stopped for a while and took a deep breath. Finally, she decided to let go of him and placed her arms on her side. She faced Juana, "I didn't say anything like that, okay?" It seemed like Sydney had become calm, "So please shut your infuriating mouth before I tie you up with the strings of my guitar!" or so they thought!

"Who are you to say that?" Juana said. "I'm your president here, you must follow me!"

"Is that so?" Sydney said as she sits on the chair. "Don't use your class position just to make us follow."

"What the?"

"And please, President Juana... Next time, if you wish to talk to me…" Sydney told her with her arms crossed, "Check your breath if it's pleasing."

Juana got really mad and she was about to slap Sydney's face. She swung her hand in the air, but Matt grabbed her wrist.

"That's enough."

Juana's attention suddenly went from Sydney to Matt. She looked at her wrist, and even though she seemed unaffected, in reality, her thoughts were a mess:

'He's holding my wrist right now… He's holding my wrist right now...He's holding my wrist right now… He's holding my wrist right now… He's holding my wrist right now… He's holding my wrist right now… He's holding my wrist right now… He's holding my wrist right now… He's holding my wrist right now…'

It was like her eyes turned into hearts!

Seeing that Juana had calmed down, he let go of her wrist and said, "I didn't tell you to interfere, Miss President. Don't do it again."

"But... Mr. Duncan... This girl is showing off..." Juana uttered, trembling. She didn't want her beloved to get mad at her!

Matt fixed his collar, then returned to his seat. "Shouldn't we all return to our seats? The teacher will come any time soon," he then faced Sydney, who was still standing near him. "Sydney, why don't you take a seat? Let's continue our sweet bickering after class." Then, he winked at her, and an imaginary bomb blasted in her head because of her annoying VIP seatmate!

Greta and her underlings chose not to meddle at the time. It seemed like she planned to talk to the president after observing that she likes Matt, too.

After all the classes that day, Sydney was called over to the teachers' room to discuss the upcoming Kasumi (Province) Inter-school Concert. Aside from her, a Senior High student was also called, and they sat in front of their music teacher, Ms. Elle.

"If I'm not mistaken, you already know each other, right?" Ms. Elle said, asking for confirmation.

"Yeah, we're Music Club members… I mean, I was in the Music Club until that annoying spoiled brat came-"

"Sssshh, the other teachers might hear you," Ms. Elle said, lowering her voice. "Anyway, I'd like to know what both of you are going to sing."

"Senior, have you thought of anything, already?" Sydney asked him.

The guy smiled at her, saying, "Not yet, Sydney. I'm still looking for something different but will suit my voice…"

Lenoir Hans. He's famous for his mesmerizing voice, and whenever he sings, everyone stares at him. Girls call him 'dreamy singer', while guys call him 'karaoke king'. Not only does his voice sound beautiful, but his looks are also something to be considered. Many girls tried confessing to him, but for some reason, they all got rejected.

He ran his hands through his dark blue hair. "And can you not call me Senior? I feel old whenever you do it," and he chuckled. "Just call me Lenoir."

"Even if you tell me a hundred times, I still wanna call you Senior, because you're older than me," Sydney said jokingly, "Just accept that you're old and you're going to graduate in less than a year!"

The three of them laughed, and then Ms. Elle opened up, "Here's my advice before the concert… Do not mess with the VIP. He's not an ordinary person. Always be on good terms with him! Look at what happened to Sydney; she was blacklisted from entering the music room and removed from the Music Club, just because of Matt Duncan's request."

"So, the rumors are true…" Lenoir said, crossing his arms, "At first I thought it was a joke…"

"I've been meaning to ask, ma'am," Sydney told Ms. Elle. "Why are you all scared of him? Who in the world is my seatmate Matt Duncan?"
