Chapter 88 - Is that Right?

The main character was too baffled to speak.

* * *

In a distant land, a handsome young man with purple eyes and an immeasurable visage could be seen looking out through the window of an aircraft. He sat inside a small cabin, consisting of two comfy yet high quality aircraft seats, a nice and spacious metallic table with integrated technology, and a small cabinet where expensive alcoholic drinks could be seen.

Across from him sat a butler, made obvious by his uniform, eloquently sipping on a cup of tea. Throughout that process, he would sneak glances at the young man before looking away onto the lands below. Of course, the young man had long since noticed his actions but chose to ignore them, seeing no need to point it out.

Finishing his tea, the butler placed the teacup on the table before finally saying, "My Prince, isn't this move too rash and brazen? This may further strain the relationship between you and the First Prince..."

The Prince looked at his butler with his usual, expressionless faced carried with cold, uncaring eyes, saying, "It might be brazen but it isn't rash. I've thought it through, you don't have to worry about that. As for what you said about my relationship with eldest brother, you should know by now that I couldn't care less. After all, I'm playing to win, and if I have to step over my own family, I will not hesitate...", his eyes growing colder and sharper with each word said.

Letting out a sight, the butler retorted, "I understand that but what if you the Archduke refuses cooperation with you? Wouldn't that just be a lose-lose situation for you?"

"He won't decline, Archduke Edward only cares for three things in his life, money, power, and his daughter. And I have plans of securing his allegiance in all three of those aspects. There is no way he will refuse, and under the unlikely event that he does, his whole world will come crumbling down!"

"What cold words, if this was a story, you would probably be the main antagonist, a villain..."

The Prince merely sighed, concealing a small smile that had crept its way on to his lips.

. . .

Two hours passed before they arrived at their location. It was one of the largest province in the Olden Empire and held the highest esteemed second only to the royal family; administered by the Light family. The city they governed over was one of the most prosperous, if not the most, that spanned over a ridiculously large area.

Their technological advancements was leagues above what was seen in Earthmire city, and their infrastructure modernized to the extent that one would think it was one of those huge metropolis cities, with their glass covered skyscrapers and their state of the art defence systems.

Flying over all those jaw dropping infrastructures, the Prince was unfazed, after all, he was from the capital.

'The only thing that's different is that massive wall they've built to hide behind...'

He was of course referring to the medieval looking wall about the size of a two story building that spanned over Hundreds if not thousands meters in diameter, separating the city into two; the inner and outer city.

The wall was meant to signify the division between the average citizen and the elites who govern over the city. It wasn't one that was based on discrimination or anything, it was simply based on the amount of wealth one had. Nothing more, nothing less.

Reflecting on that, he wondered whether that was the reason why the city was so prosperous. Since being a part of the inner walls was a sign of high status and an honour that was forever imprinted as a family's legacy.

Getting closer to the wall, the Prince saw that on the other side was a luxurious, residential area that seemed more like a resort than a simple residential area. There were pools, golf courses, luxury resorts, residential areas that put anything to shame, and finally, one large medieval castle; one that spanned over an obscenely large area I might add.

Although it was styled like the castles of the old, it was actually packed with all the latest features, even including the self-repairing act under the unforeseen event that it was damaged by an attack.

Slowly lowering itself on one of the landing pads, the aircraft came to a halt, a man waiting in the distance.

*Zshhh*

With a release sound, the doors of the aircraft retracted into themselves revealing a handsome, lean young man. Once the retractable steps stretched out, he descended, follower by his butler, and was greeted warmly by the waiting man.

"On behalf of the city of Greenwood, I extend my greetings to you, Prince Amon." He said, with a warm smile and a slightly bowing posture. Nodding his head in return, the Prince asked, "I have a meeting scheduled with Archduke Edward, take me to him."

It was apparent that this young man was a lofty Prince from the way he spoke, straightforward and commanding. Of course, one could argue that he simply didn't care enough for etiquette to be tied to it...

"Follow me please..."

The Prince, accompanied by the butler, followed the man, marvelling at all it beauties.

'If the capital was to fall, Greenwood would be next in line to be crowned the capital..'

That was no small feat as it had to be superior than all the other cities in basically all aspects... which it was.

Slowly being led inside the castle, the Prince and his butler let out suppressed shock, impressed by its internal design. Secretly observing their reaction, the man let out a proud smile, which went unnoticed by the Prince due to the simple fact that he didn't care... Arriving in front of a grand door, guarded by two giants among men, the man lightly knocked before announcing, "My lord, the Seventh Prince, Prince Amon has come as scheduled..."

A brief moment of silence was heard before the doors opened, revealing a moderately sized room. From how it was structured, it was obvious that the room was either a study or an office. The idea was further backed up by the sight of a blond haired, blue eyed, gentleman in his early forties, working through mounds of paperwork.

Entering inside, the Prince greeted before siting in front of a chair on the opposite of the Archduke; his butler having stayed outside.

"Greetings, Archduke."

The Archduke stole a glance at the Prince, briefly nodding his head before going back to his paperwork saying, "Prince, why have you scheduled this meeting?"

The Prince let out a confident smile, saying, "To gain your support of course...", which prompted the Archduke to halt in his actions before looking up at the Prince with an amused smile.

"Is that right?"
