Chapter 59 - Holy Inheritance

Depressed over his predicament, the shop owner released the boy from his grip before turning around and walking away with his head held low and his shoulders slumped down.

He had missed a once in a lifetime opportunity and there was no way of getting it back. 'I'll just head home for the day, hopefully tomorrow will treat me better than today had...'

. . .

The main character on the other hand had arrived at the infirmary, standing over the boss of the bullies, he asked, "In your mental scape, what did the Ancient Master say to you?"

The boy was a bit hesitant but considering how the MC had sent his friends away, and how it was all due to him for all the blessings he had received, he decided to trust him before recounting what had happened.

Apparently it all started with him feeling a strange energy invading his body. It felt quite ominous but at the same time natural, creating a very uncomfortable sensation. That was proceeded with him hearing a cracking sound, most likely caused by the necklace.

He th-cutting him off there the main character asked, "Where did you get that necklace from?" Although he had a guess of what the young man would say, he still had to make sure.

"I've always had, I think its some kind of family heirloom..." he said, as he fetched out the necklace revealing a thin bronze metallic double rope chain that held a rectangular ruby with fracture that ran through the middle. Looking at the necklace, the main character went into deep though before mentally connecting with the Atlas, 'Let's see what's inside this thing...'

Using one of the many abilities the Atlas had, he merged his consciousness with the spirit of the blade, creating a sort of spirit sense, allowing him to peer into the necklace.

His vision was sent through the fracture in the middle, the red crooked walls of what was now a giant crevice gave off a strange ambiance, one that pushed all away whilst pulling them closer. Sensing around though, he did feel slight energy fluctuations which was a good sign.

Going in even further he noticed the energy fluctuations steadily increasing, making him feel happy, 'There is definitely something here.'

And as if to assure him of his thoughts, a faint light appeared at the end of the crevice, one that glowed brighter and brighter the farther he went. Another thing he noticed was that the farther in he went, the more resistance he felt.

Of course he was able to push forward but the fact that the necklace was putting up such a resistance only meant that the thing inside was quite exceptional.

A while passed before he had finally made it to what seemed like the end of the crevice. The light had now turned into a wall that shined brightly, almost seeing like a the silver gates of heaven. That went hand in hand with the Holy power he sensed on the other side, one the was as pure as the ocean...

Getting closer he felt the resistance disappear while the pulling force was magnified!

'The Atlas may be able to survive the trip but I'm not sure I can... Dang, if only I was stronger, I'd have had a chance at quenching my curiosity...' *Prominent Wuxia novel line*

Deciding that it was as far as he would go, he dissociated from the Atlas, forcing his consciousness to return back to his senses. Back in his body, the maim character was impressed at how all that exploring had only taken a fraction of a second, allowing the normal progression of the conversation to be unaffected.

The boy seeing that the main character had no more questions continued by saying, "Anyway, after I heard the crack I suddenly felt a pang of pain hit my chest, due to that I was left unconscious but only after I had heard the words, 'You who has been gifted with the blood of the Holy'.

'A holy bloodline, huh... how interesting...', the main character thought as he heard that final bit.

"After I had fallen unconscious, I was somehow transported into a white dreamy place, I think you called it a mental space, and that's where I met the Master. He told me that I had a holy bloodline from long ago and had a connection to the Divine Spar-"

Hearing that name being called out, the main character's eyes slightly narrowed… that was a much more controlled expression as compared to his genuinely shocked state.

'The Divine Spark??? How the fuck is he connected to that troublesome bastard!!!'

Who was this Divine Spark that had the main character stressed, you ask? Well, she's only the literal personification of life in the whole universe!!!

'If this kid is really connected to that being then I'm afraid I can't do anything to him till I'm back at full power… I mean, not that I planned to kill him or anything… but I sure would have felt better if I could simply decide someone's fate like the good old days…'

Realising he was digging up the past again, the main character turned his attention back to the kid only to realise he had spaced out while the teen had been talking causing him to missing some things, 'Fuck! No, I'll just ask him to start from the beginning…. … … but I mean he's gone on for so long and besides I bet it wasn't even that important anyway…'

By going into thought once again, he had, again, missed what the young man had said, causing him to sigh.

"-told me to cultivate diligently and master all that the inheritance offered because one day I'll have to face the forces of the underworld… After that he said some other stuff before fading away…

Noticing the words underworld being mentioned, the main character was confused as he though, 'Underworld? Now the fucking Underworld is getting involved??? This is getting outta hand…'

Thankfully, the teen had just finished recalling what had happened as he looked at the main character waiting for a reaction. Feeling his gaze, the MC nodded his head with a wise and serene expression before saying,

"It's all going as planned, but let me warn you... be careful. Don't tell anyone about your inheritance or your association with the Divine Spark, if you do, not only will death await you, it will also go after everyone you hold dear!"

The teen was obviously spooked, nodding his head he thought, 'Going as planned?? Could it be that he foresaw all this happening??? This-this is crazy! Just how powerful is he?!!', the grandeur of the main character growing into unfathomable reaches.

[BOB.C]: HAH, wt a sucker! Manipulation through lies is awesome!

[Reader]: Yea sure, [Author] why do you keep referring to the boss bully as kid, boy, teen, young man? Why not just pick one and be done with it???

[Author]: I did that bc 16 is basically when you become a young man, and also I felt annoyed just writing any one of them for a longer period of time so I decided to use them in rotation...

[Reader]: Makes sense I guess...

[BOB.C]: If only you could write a story properly!

[Author]: Fuck off will ya!
