I was wandering around the big grocery store Costco's because my mom basically kicked me out the house. My "boyfriend" who I have been with for only a couple of months is no help. I barely get to talk to him because he's so busy, we haven't even met in person yet. I kinda wanna break things off because I really don't see this going anywhere but he's the first guy who treats me well. Honestly I just wanna keep him around for a little longer, because it's highly unlikely I'll find a guy this nice. My mom was angry that I never left the house unless I had too. She didn't understand that I'm not an outside person. I like to stay in and play video games, read books. I'm not really much of the social type, I'm always kinda sad. Maybe it's because of my servere daddy issues, maybe because I was so sheltered as a kid I never got to enjoy doing stuff and hanging with friends to the point where now that I'm 18. And I can do these things I don't really know how to comprehend. I'd rather just Stick to what I know and what I normally do, what I'm best at. Playing video games and reading. I'm just aimlessly wandering the store with no money to buy anything. All of a sudden I'm knocked out of my thoughts as a very angry old man rushes past me, bumping my side causing me to lose my balance and trip. I clench my eyes shut bracing for the impact but it never came, I opened my eyes in confusion only to meet the eyes of a guy who looked close to my age but maybe a little older. It took me a second before I registered that I was just laying in a stranger's arms, I quickly stood up straight and fixed myself. I looked down at my shoes in embarrassment and muttered an apology to the man.
"I'm sorry sir" I said
When I turned to walk away I felt a hand pull me back by my arm. He looked down at me, towering over me with a smirk on his face.
"So you're just gonna fall into my arms and walk off princess" he said with humor in his voice.
I stood there shocked and I didn't know what to say. My eyes were desperately avoiding eye contact with him. Until his hand lifted my chin, forcing my eyes to look into his. I finally took a second to actually look at this guy he was breathtaking. He looked like he was sculpted by god himself. He had these soft brown eyes, dark black hair that feathers over his eyes. I opened my mouth to say something and the only thing that came out was a squeak. as he opened his mouth to speak, The man let out a deep chuckle.
"Your really cute" he said
his voice so deep that it made me shiver.
I only smiled in reply because I didn't trust my voice.
"Can I get your name princess" he said
His voice sending another wave of shivers down my back
"Saiye" I whispered but loud enough for him to hear
"Pretty name for a pretty princess" he said, his hand still holding on to my arm.
"Thanks" I replied feeling oddly relaxed despite being really shy seconds ago.
"You look troubled princess" he says
I look at him a little surprised
Is it that obvious, I thought
"I have to grab some things, you can walk with me and we can talk about what's troubling you princess" he says wrapping his arm around my shoulder.
"Ok" I replied without a second thought
What harm can talking do?
He walks and grabs an empty abandoned cart and we start heading to the back area of the store where all the food is. We start making basic conversation and getting to know each other. We are exchanging stories about ourselves and our lives. We are getting along pretty well, he's very funny and charming. He has a dark sense of humor that I like, as we are chatting We were browsing the ice cream in the freezer section. I stood beside him as he looked for the ice cream he wanted.
I realized that he never mentioned his name.
"Hey you never told me your name" I said as I turned to face him.
He looked at me with a cheeky smile on his face, then he opened the freezer door and grabbed the ice cream he wanted. He put the ice cream in the cart and walked up to me, His frame towering over me again.
"KaiModeus but you can call me Kai " he said
I looked up at him and tilted my head with my eyebrows raised
"Your name is Kaimodeus" I said amused
"Yes my name's Kaimodeus princess, would you like to see my ID" Kai replied with a chuckle.
I shook my head no and let out giggle, I walked over to the cart and placed my hands on it.
"Where to next Kai " I said
Kai chuckled and pointed to the left where there was an aisle filled with snacks.
"I need to get some snacks to have in my apartment" Modeus says
I nod my head and start pushing the cart in that direction. We get to the snack aisle, he starts picking out snacks and putting them in the cart.
"Do you live alone" I ask as he put the last of the snacks in the cart.
"Yeah I do" he replied looking up at me.
"How old are you?" I ask, resting my arms on the cart.
"22 and you?" He replies
"I'm 18" I said
"I'm guessing you don't live alone" he states
"sadly I don't" I said with a sigh
" is that why u looked so troubled earlier princess, you're having family issues" he asks
"Yeah, mostly daddy issues though and some boyfriend troubles" I reply
"You have a boyfriend" he asked with an amused face.
"Yeah barely, he rarely ever has time for me. We have been together for a couple months now and we haven't seen each other in person yet!" I ranted
"He sounds dumb, if I were him I would want to spend every second I can with you" he says
I smile at him not knowing what to say.
"Let's go check out" he saids
We head back to the front of the store making small talk along the way. We get in the line and start putting the items on the conveyor belt, the cashier rings him up and he pays. I help him grab some bags and I follow him to the parking lot where his car is. We load the bags in his trunk while having more small talk. Finally all the bags are in the trunk and he turns to me.
"Do you want a ride home" he asks as his hand is on the small of my back.
"I really don't wanna go home" I replied honestly
" you can hang at my place, just tell your mom or whoever that your staying at a friends" he saids
I contemplate it for a moment and eventually nod my head in agreement. I get in the passenger seat and send my mom a quick text saying I met up with a friend and I'm going over to their house for a bit. Corpse starts driving and About a 2 minutes later I get a text back from my mom saying ok and to text her when I'm leaving. I turn my head to Corpse, I admire his side profile for a second before I say anything.
"Kai" I said
"Yeah" he hums
"My mom said it's cool" I said
He nodded his head and placed his hand on my thigh and gave it a light squeeze.
The car ride was silent the rest of the way to his apartment.
We finally arrived and he actually didn't live that far. We unload the groceries from the car and bring them inside, then I helped him put all the stuff away. He showed me around the apartment. it was pretty big and kinda empty, not much decoration. We finally made it to the last room which was his bedroom. It was very simple and plain, not much decoration just like the rest of the apartment. I was standing in front of this shelf and dresser combo when Kai decided to break the silence.
"I think it's time you tell me what was troubling you princess" he said
I took a deep breath deciding to just tell him, it's not like anyone else would be this willing to listen. I turned to face him and I just spilled everything. My boyfriend troubles, my bipolar mom, my stupid stepdad and even my real dad. I just let everything out and listened to every word. I was sobbing so hard I could barely breathe. I felt his hands wrap around me, he had one hand wrapped around my back and the other cradling my head to his chest. We stayed like that for a while before we pulled apart.
"Let's watch a movie," he said, intertwining his hand with mine pulling me towards the living room.
We sat down next to each other on the couch and he put on some random movie. We were half way through the movie and I wasn't really paying attention to it. I was too busy looking at Kai. The way he was so focused on the tv, his dark black hair falling over his eyes.
"God this man is so gorgeous" I thought
I was so mesmerized by him I didn't notice he was looking at me. It wasn't until his deep voice brought me back to reality then I realized I was staring.
"You like what you see princess" he said chuckling.
I felt my cheeks start to heat up and I turned away from him in embarrassment. I could hear him chuckling to himself.
"Come here" he said
I turned my head to see him leaning back on the couch gesturing for me to lay between his legs. I scoot over towards him and lay down on his chest, he wraps his arms around me while rubbing my back.
A few minutes goes by and I start to get sleepy.
"Sleep princess" he said rubbing his thumb on my cheek
"But my mom" I said trying to find my phone
" I'll send a text that you're staying over your friends" he said
"Now stop worrying and sleep princess" he continued to reassure me
I close my eyes and fall asleep
