Chapter 6 - 5

'SCHING'

The sound echoed through the corridor and the soldiers who were shooting at ghost were suddenly cut into two smooth pieces, the sword was so swift and accurate that it also cut off all bullets that were fired into two equal halves, there was no mark on ghost's flawless blade as she appeared in the middle of the corpses.

Seeing no, one was alive after her opening move, she was dissatisfied, she had been hoping to meet someone strong enough to temper her swordsmanship, she had been avoiding using her powers to achieve that goal, just as she thought there was no use walking around aimlessly as her goal would most likely not be achieved, she suddenly noticed someone coming up from the elevator.

The elevator opened to reveal a muscular middle aged man in military combat uniform, the man had a cigar in his mouth and a scar over half of his face.

His presence seemed to fill the environment with an invisible pressure.

Seeing this man ghost eyes glowed with excitement, he was the 'iron fist' one of the best fighters in the world, he is a legend, ghost grew up listening to his stories, it is said that during world war 2 had destroyed a heavily guarded enemy camp himself with nothing but his two fists, if there is anyone ever said to have reached the limits of humanity in terms of boxing technique it was undoubtedly him.

Although there had been rumors that iron fist was a superpower but ghost knew for a fact that he wasn't, he was just an ordinary human.

Her grandfather had been friends with the general when he travelled to japan they had both sparred and discussed the way forward for martial techniques but unfortunately her grandfather had died of a failing body years back leaving his only adopted daughter to inherit his prized swordsmanship.

Ghost didn't expect to meet the legendary figure who should have already been old and weak in the base.

"How long can he last." Madison asked the researcher next to her.

"about 10 minutes, we could only utilize a part of the Valhalla mechanism, most of the energy has gone into smoothing out the rejection between the soul and the body."

Madison remembered the information brief she had received about project Valhalla, since the incident in 2012 the members of the united nation had increased its attention on all archeological studies and progress had been made.

Since that year the once useless antiques seemed to have received some stimulation and starting exerting some miraculous effects.

One of them being a horn found some years before off the shore of Iceland in the Norwegian sea.

The horn now dubbed as the 'horn of Valhalla' after numerous stimulation and experiments was able to contain the soul of the dead.

The first virtual soul that was created was that of 'iron fist', the general had volunteered for it himself as he was already on his death bed, and the experiment was a success his soul was successfully retained, the magical phenomenon sparked a more intense research craze and then project Valhalla was born, based on the old Nordic legend with the use of clone technology projecting a part of the souls consciousness into the new born clone the government hopped to have its own hall of Valhalla hosting immortal soldiers.

Today was its first test since its conception and it was going to be used against a super power, although the syndicate had its own superpower troops but they were extremely few that could be trusted the rest had either been too dangerous and unstable to be kept alive.

"after ten minutes when the tests end blow up the base."

But what about subject mike being held underneath." A researcher couldn't help but ask.

Turning around with an indifferent gleam in her eyes Madison responded "enough samples has already been collected from him and from the results of the tests given earlier he has lost his value his superpowers has been crippled."
