Mya approached the administration block, zoning out with her mind flooded with unanswered questions; she needed answers to. This made her more determined to get answers to solve all those mysteries. A ring from her phone suddenly drew her attention back to reality.
"Damn, who could it be?", she mumbled, glaring at her bag. She sighed, rummaging through her bag for the phone. After a second, she finally drew out the phone and checked the caller. It was her mother.
Mya exhaled, tilting her head as she answered the call, approaching the administration block with small paces. "Yes, mum, what is it?".
"Sorry, dear, I just.... ", Amy answered from the other end of the phone but Ben and his friends suddenly bumped into Mya in a rush, making her phone and documents fall to the ground before Amy could finish her words.
"Ouch, hey! watch it! Is this how you just run around aimlessly over here? ", she shouted angrily as she rounded up her things from the ground. Amy heard her daughter shout, she nervously queried. "Mya? Mya? what is going on with you? Where are you?" but had no answer.
Ben and his friends stuttered Laura's name, trembling and gripped with fear without looking back at the person they bumped into. They thought it was one of their teachers.
Mya froze for a moment, glaring quizzically and speechless at them. "Lau.....Laura Roberts?", she stammered after finally finding her voice.
They nodded, trembling as they kept pointing at the direction they came from with their eyes fixed. Mya grasped Fred furiously at his collar "What happened to my sister? What happened to Laura? what did you do to her", she shouted. Ben, Fred and Patrick was suddenly drown back to reality at the voice that echoed in fierce. They glanced up at the person and gasped, "Mya Roberts?", they exclaimed in shock.
" Yes, is me, Mya Roberts. Start talking!" She roared impatiently. They stared at her, astonished and speechless. Their brains suddenly went blank.
Mr Hansel stared at them from his office, "Gosh, those lunatics!", he angrily exclaimed, thumping his hand on the table as he rose to his feet. "I got to take care of this myself before it gets out of hand ".
Mr Hansel hurried over to where Mya and the boys stood. "Hey, what are you boys doing over there? Ain't you supposed to be in class?",he shouted. Mya immediately let go off Fred.
"Yes sir! We're sorry ", they answered and sped off to their class. Mya gazed at their back with a suspicious and mischievous look as they fade away into the corridors. "I'll definitely get to the root of your dark secrets. That's a promise. No one messes with a Roberts", she mumbled in her thought and picked up her things from the ground. "Hello? Mya? Mya?", a voice called from the phone.
"Oh, shit, she's still on? Gosh", Mya cried and held the phone back to her ears. "Gosh, mum, you're still there? I thought you hanged up".
"How could I when I heard you screaming and shouting. Tell me, what happened, why weren't you answering "
"Um, nothing mum. I got to go now. I'm a little busy. We'll talk when I get home, bye", she mumbled and drew it from her ears.
" No, wait, Mya?, Mya?", Amy called but Mya dropped the line without listening any further.
Mr Hansel stared at her, trying to lay his hand on what was running through her mind. He finally cleared his throat to draw her attention after his efforts proved negative.
"Umm, what brought you here, Miss Mya Roberts?"
"Oh, sorry sir(wears a faint smile) I'm here to submit my forms for my attachment in your prestigious school".
He scoffed with quiet shocked and bated breath, wearing a sheepish smile. "Oh, well, welcome. Let's get to the office, this way, please", he stuttered while he lead the way, feeling a little hot suddenly from nervousness. Mya gazed at him with a sly, wry grin and smirked with a satisfactory smile, on noticing his etched face. "Hope you can wear that mask for long, Mr Hansel ", she whispered underneath her breath and chuckled faintly.
"Are you coming, Miss Mya?", he called, at the door.
"Um, yes sir, I'm right behind you", she exclaimed and rushed off behind him.
