Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Bloody Night

One single look was enough to see that the town chief was weaker. The fire from his mouth was slowly being distinguished by the water as bullets of sweat dripped down his forehead

The clash between fire and water created steam and made the surroundings hotter. Fortunately, it is already night and the weather is cold

If this happened in the afternoon where the sun, baked everyone's skin, many might have already passed out because of the heat

"P-powerful!" Cairo that watched the scene exclaimed. Up until now, he focuses on his sand magic and his other attributes were ignored

This was because he was currently too weak. Cairo was wise enough to know that it wouldn't do good if he trained on other magic while his power is still at 'trash level'

Cairo decided that he should be powerful enough to protect himself before he starts learning to use other types of magic

After the town chief can't defend himself anymore, he dodged by moving to the side but the water still hits him and left a bleeding wound on his shoulder

There are also a few unfortunate people that were harmed by the chief dodging that attack

"Stop resisting now!" The slave trader roared. He miscalculated his own arrogance and that caused lots of lives. The trader thought that the townsmen won't resist much because of fear. Too bad that his actions have negative consequences

"We can do this! Kill these slave traders! We will not become slaves and experienced more hardship!" The chief said in a 'righteous manner' completely forgetting the fact that he treated the townsmen in a shitty way in the past

One of the hot-blooded men waved his hand around and winds were generated, the winds caused some of the slaves to lose their balance

Another one of the townsmen controlled the sand and they turned into sharp spikes. The sands were then used to kill the slaves

More blood spilled on the ground making the reddish color of it more vibrant

Seeing that a lot of his slaves are being killed, the slave trader was angered to death. Every single one of his men is worth a high price! To see them being killed one by one is not something he can accept

"Kill these fucking people! Don't hold back! We can't sell them as slaves but they can be sold as monster feeds!" The slave trader said viciously

If more of his slaves were killed then he would simply take a huge loss instead of gaining a profit

The townsmen were terrified by the thought that even after their deaths, they would be humiliated and be treated like a trash

The slave trader's words caused another backlash to him. However, he can't be blamed much too. The slave trader was used to capturing 'commodities' by using his gang's name to threaten the others that their whole family or group will be killed by the gang

Too bad that this town was simply too poor compared to other towns. Most of the people are clueless including the chief. They only know that there are slave traders that will sometimes capture some townsmen

The citizens are completely clueless about the other powerful groups. Besides, due to how poor they are, most slave traders do not bother capturing them as the profit is simply too low

The townsmen are starved and they almost cannot be sell to do manual labor. They aren't profitable 'items'

The townsmen feared what would happen after they died and their attacks became more frenzied

Blood and flesh flew everywhere. Both sides were getting heavy casualties as bodies fell on the ground one by one. Death and killing is common in Blood Sand Town but they still never saw this many people die in a single die

The area was so bloody that the citizens that are already used at the sight of dead bodies felt a bit uncomfortable

The town chief raised his hand and grains of sand floated around him. He shaped then into thin needles before firing it towards the slave trader

If the slave trader dies, it would be easier for the townsmen to win as the chief can kill several people just by himself

The slave trader did the same thing that the chief does and needles of sands clashed in the air

As of now, the chief is already panting hard. He might be a mage but he's only a peak Rank 1 Acolyte. He is powerful amongst the townsmen but compared to other mages, he is too weak

More sweat rolled down from the chief's body and he can already feel the fatigue from using most of his mana. The chief is already running out of fuel but he still wasn't able to kill the trader. His situation is becoming grimmer the more time that passed

Even the townsmen are being constantly killed. The two sides are in a stalemate before when the slaves tried their best not to kill. However, things are different now. The slaves' goal was changed to kill everyone!

Cairo acted scared when one of the men was approaching him. The kid is currently on the ground while having a terrified expression on his face

The slave was holding a knife in his hand and was about to kill Cairo with it when the kid did something the slave didn't think he will do

Cairo wants to conserve as much mana as he can and he didn't use any magic yet. Instead of using magic, Cairo grabbed some sands with his hand and threw it at the slave's eyes

The slave felt a stinging pain in his eyes and he can't see for some time because of Cairo's actions. The kid wasn't finished yet though as he kicked the man's nuts mercilessly

Cairo tried his best to blend with the crowd before and this is something he saw one of the other kids did

The kid acted weak in front of the slave but when the latter lowered his guard, it immediately spelled his death. The kid took a knife from his clothes and stabbed the slave's abdomen with it

Cairo just did a similar thing but didn't immediately take out his knife. He wants to preserve as many cards as he can. The slaves would treat him seriously if they saw him holding a weapon

After kicking a man where it will hurt the most, Cairo runs away to blend with the crowd again. However, he was caught by a magic

The sands around Cairo and the people around moved that caused them to lose their balance and more slaves charged at them

When Cairo looked at the source of this attack, he saw three slaves with their palms on the ground

Cairo memorized their faces on his mind. If he survived today, he'll make sure to take revenge on those that endangered his life

Fortunately for the kid, the slaves focused on killing the adults first. They felt that a kid can't do much and saved them for the last. The slaves want to seize the chance that the mages made to kill the ones that can offer more resistance

Cairo was about to take advantage of his age and small stature to run away. Since there are a lot of people taller than him, it wasn't hard to lose him in the crowd

Too bad for him that more magic was used on the sands to the point that he lost control of where he was going anymore

When the sands finally stopped moving Cairo's body, he discovered that he fell into a much more dangerous position than before

Behind him was the town chief kneeling on the ground with a pale face. The fatty overused his mana causing him to lose strength

In front of Cairo was the slave trader with a sand sword in his hand. The trader was walking towards the chief to finally kill him when a kid was thrown in front of him

The trader frowned before moving the sword in his hand to kill Cairo as if the youth is not a human being

Cairo panicked as he saw the trader walking closer to him. "Calm down! Calm down self!" Cairo forced himself to calm down and dragged his body on the sand to move away from the trader while thinking about what he should do

This mage is the strongest human that Cairo encountered and his life can be harvested by the man anytime it wants

Cairo focused on what he learned earlier from the other kid. A genuine scared expression hangs on his face as if he will pee on his pants any time now

As expected, the trader lowered his guard at seeing how puny and pitiful Cairo is. Unfortunately for him, that is bound to be his lifetime regret and mistake

When Cairo judged that the timing is enough, he grabbed sand with his hand again and threw it to the trader. However, since the trader is a mage, he only waved his hand to move the sand away from him

The trader thought that it was only a kid's final resistance but his eyes widened in shock the next second. The sands that the kid threw on him took away all of his attention and even prevented him from being able to look at the kid properly

The next thing the mage knew was that Cairo already has a knife in his hand and was about to stab him with it

The mage was caught off guard but he was still powerful. He let go of the control he has on the sand sword and controlled the sands to cover his abdomen

The knife met the sands and the former wasn't able to penetrate the latter. Cairo failed in his sneak attack but his plan doesn't end there.

The mage was angered by his shameful situation and he looked at Cairo angrily

Too bad for him that Cairo has several plans. First, Cairo made the mage lower his guard. Second, he threw sands to blocked his actions. Third, the mage only saw the knife in Cairo's right hand and thought that that was the last part of Cairo's plan. However, there is still the fourth one and the kid's real final plan if his knife attack failed!

Cairo already gathered sands on his left palm to use the exploding sand ball when his right hand went to stab the mage

Cairo controlled his arm to slam the sand ball on the trader. He thought that he will win but he miscalculated something

The sand was just literally around the trader's abdomen and he quickly uses it to cover his chest. The distance is so near and Cairo's attack was met with sands again

Cairo's sands exploded. Fortunately, although he was not able to kill the enemy, the trader still coughs out blood from the impact

The youth doesn't know it at that time but the principles behind his exploding sand ball are higher than normal. Magic can have the same appearance and effects but the power behind them varied

Just because two mages have the same ability to make a ball of sand doesn't mean that their attack power would be the same

"Die!" The trader controlled sands again and made a sharp spike from it in his hand to kill Cairo

However, at that time, the already weak chief made his move. The sands around Cairo rose and hardened before they penetrated the mage's body

The trader can originally dodge the chief's last and desperate attack but he underestimated the damage he received from Cairo

When the trader tried moving, he discovered that the pain in his chest was too much. The pain lowered his dodging speed and that enabled the chief to kill him

The mage was pierced by the hard sand. His eyes and mouth went wide open as the thought of dying in this operation never entered the trader's head

The chief's face turned paler and his vision was so blurry to the point that he almost cannot see anything. His dizziness overcomes his senses and he loses consciousness. The chief forced himself too much on that desperate attack

Now that one of the side's leader was dead and the other is unconscious, it made the fight messier. Some people didn't even know if they should continue or what

Cairo's face turned pale too as his actions attracted a lot of attention. Several slaves decided to make a move to him

The slave trader might he dead but not the whole Savage Sand Gang! These muscular men are still slaves of the gang's 'higher-ups'
