Almost done with the energy director, all I need now is to get the safety functions online. Adam thinks to himself as he walks over to a panel on the wall.
As Adam removes the panel on his masterpiece he starts to think back to how he got here, and what he has sacrificed to get where he is now.
///10 Years Ago Age 9
"Happy Birthday Adam!" As the cheers of the kids in the orphanage rings in Adam's ears he feels impatient, he knows that he should be enjoying his 9th birthday but he can't wait to read the book he got, after all he is the only boy in the orphanage who was in high school.
Yes it may sound a bit odd at first but Adam was a 9 year old in high school. He was a gifted child who could read even before he could speak, always reading everything he could get his tiny hands on.
Before he was 5 he could understand Algebra and even Calculus, He was mostly self taught as the teachers at the orphanage were more interested in teaching him his ABC's then Teaching a 5 year old how to solve algebraic expressions.
"Why can't you teach me high school math?" Adam would ask the teachers at the orphanage, but they would always look at him like he was some sort of freak of nature and say "A boy your age should be learning how to count to 10, you are to young to understand high school math."
Adam hated the teachers he hated how they looked at him like he was a freak, count to 10! I can count to trillions, if the other kids would simply read a book instead of eating a cookie and chewing on the wooden blocks they would be smarter they all of you fools!
Once Adam Was 9 he was rarely seen at the orphanage, if you did see him he would be reading a book he borrowed from the library. Even though he was 9 he had better test scores than a 18 year old freshman, he was truly a genius.
But this genius had his own problems, not only did he have no parents to support him but he also had no friends to rely on when he needed it. "if I'm rich and famous the everybody will want to be my friend!" Adam thought as he lay in his bed reading a textbook the sound of children laughing and playing in the background being drowned out by his own internal monolog.
Adam never even considered the possibility of simply walking up to another child and saying "hello I'm Adam wanna be friends?" well he may have thought of it once or twice but the names and mockery of the other children always caused him go shy away from any attempts at friendship.
He would spend his days studying whatever he managed to convince the orphanage attendants to get for him and then asking questions to whoever would listen, usually this was nobody but he never stopped trying. however once he got a small refurbished tablet for his birthday he began to ask all his questions to the internet Instead of children and orphanage attendants much to there relief.
After that he was seen even less as he spent every moment he could exploring the internet rapidly gaining knowledge and understanding. the orphanage attendants had set up online courses for him to take these both kept him away from them and would satiate his seeming endless curiosity. but what no one knew is that all this was quietly putting the pieces in place for Adam's downfall...
