While Jack was going into a godly retreat to regain his humanity and sanity, Alice had finally begun her hunt.
The enemy had split up in search for Leon Kingdom's Soldiers, which gave her a tonne of freedom. Especially since her mapping skill displayed the 2 particularly strong individuals rather evidently in red so deep it almost looked black. In reality, she could not use this function at the level the skill was at currently, however, Jack had made an exception for those two individuals in order to keep his beta players alive.
For the time being, the map would display the strong individuals very clearly, allowing her to simple avoid them.
Furthermore, being able to see nametags from 20 m in any direction made it incredibly easy to spot enemies, and help out friendlies.
After saving one of the Leon soldiers, Alice picked up the dead body and dragged it away to somewhere unknown and tossing it over a cliff to prevent the Roland soldiers who were still alive from discovering what was actually going on.
Soon, she received the level up notification and finally became level 5, and got another notification which she temporarily put aside and instead focussed on her retreat.
By now, she had mostly vented her anger, and had nearly whipped out all the soldiers on the field. If she wasted any more time trying to pick out the last few remaining ones, the enemy would actually notice that many of their soldiers were missing and send out the strong individuals to scour the field.
Based on how the god of systems did not want her to even meet them, they should be a lot stronger than her.
Due to the level up, she had regained all her stamina that she had lost killing off enemies many levels above her own by silently ambushing them and attacking their vitals before they could react over the past hour or so.
Now, al she had to do was run and try and reach the camp as soon as possible, since the camp they were going towards was a forward base of command and not a temporary camp like what their own camp was.
'After the rest we got at the village, most of the soldiers we rescued should be able to run for quite some time. Even the injured ones should be able to move since we got some herbal pain-killers from the village. Thankfully we didn't have to kill any of the villagers to get what we needed since they cooperated with his just fine. But the problem still remains that the injured ones will not be able to make it to the forward base of command in one go. They will have to take many rests, and enemy might catch up.'
'Sigh. Nothing I can do about it. People will definitely die. I tried my best and was able to help the escape. Now survival is up to their will and luck.'
At this moment, Alice noticed a red nametag in the distance, instantly becoming alert and removing her daggers while slowly approaching.
Since the two almost black dots were still in their original positions, this was not the insanely strong people, and if she attacked properly, her ambush should be successful as always.
However, what she did not expect was that the enemy was with a green nametag. Thinking it was a hostage situation, Alice thought of many different possibilities and closed in slowly while staying low and close to the ground.
Soon, she could see the situation from behind a tree about 3 meters away from the enemy.
But the actual situation shocked her. The enemy was on a horse, and was leaning forward to listen to the words of the friendly. At this distance, Alice's improved senses could pick up their conversation.
"Is it true?"
"Yes. I am telling you. The one who had the divine descent was a young female who goes by the name of Alice. She is the squad leader on squad 25, I think. This is the squad that rescued us from your camp. There! I told you everything. Now will you let me go? Forget letting me go, just don't kill me! I will join the Roland army! But please don't kill me! I have no one left in this world anyways. It is only me. At least let me live a full life!"
The nametag of the person at his words began to change from green to yellow, and then to slightly orange.
Alice made her move now while the enemy had his guard down and cleanly pierced the enemy's through with one dagger, and heart with the other, both from behind.
Blood spurted everywhere even on the now-not-so-friendly soldier. The already blood covered Alice pulled out her daggers from the corpse before throwing it over the horse and onto the ground, before taking a seat on the horse herself. Having had been taught how to ride a horse in her childhood, Alice quickly took control of the horse and moved closer to the stunned traitor.
Although Alice felt like killing the traitor, for some reason, she restrained herself. Instead of chopping his head off, she reached out a hand to the soldier,
"Are you coming, traitor?"
