The long awaited day ended with us First Years getting a short speech by the Student Council President ; the moment after, Miss Chabashira told us about the 'Points' and that it can buy 'anything' in this School premises. Also told how the classes were divided according not only to merits but other criterions. She never specified which criterion though.
'It is fine as long as we CLASS-D students are in the school and we pass. Thats what it matters' . Well this is what others thought.
This school is totally on the abandoned site from the other cities and all. It has all recreational facilities for students. Cafe, theaters, karaokes, etc. Its like a small planned city for this school students. This what makes this Elite school, different than other schools.
Students are not allowed to have any kind of connection with the others outside the school premises, even the family. If required, the school's permission is a must. Students are required to live in SCHOOL DORMS. Co-ed Dorms. Each student has their own Room card . Surprising, for a school which restricts romantic relationship within students.
The Student Council President , Horikita Manabu. Having not only an engulfing aura but also a controllable , intimidating presence. Just like Erza Wistaria . Upon his standing on the stage. Slowly , steadily the whole hall of Four sections of First Years , came into absolute silence during the Entrance Ceremony.
Two things stuck in my mind.
First, his surname is the same as Horikita Suzune , who was shocked upon his arrival. Must be related to each other? Brother perhaps?
Second, Horikita Manabu and Erza Wistaria are very much alike , considering the pressure of their presence and aura. They might not want to stuck on each others throat. Or it'll be a DISASTER.
I tried to find Erza , but she must be with her friend? Sakura? Still I dont know about their relationship. Not that it interests me. Anyway, I should worry about my very own existence.
Because , right now , in the present situation, more than the half of the day is gone , and I am not able to make a single acquaintance or a friend to begin with. I might have really ran out of luck.
"I wonder what I am gonna do with these 100,000 points" I thought.
First, I should buy the necessities. Then food. FOOD. What should I make? Omurice? Fried Rice? Or Instant Noodles.
Anyway, in my first day of High School , I am now on my way to the convenience store. Without any friends. I gave up.
I walked upto there and got my necessities , but to my surprise , I noticed Erza and Horikita.
Erza was in the 'Body maintain' section of the mall. Same for Horikita. Seems like they havent noticed each other. YET. To be honest, I also wanted a soap and body moisturizer. So I didnt had a choice but to go and stand beside Erza.
"Another annoying coincidence, I guess? " Horikita spoke out.
"Looks like it though." I said nonchalantly. I dont have any kind of interest to debate with her or anything. All I could think of was Bed.
I glanced at Erza. She didnt even bother to notice anyone, or her surroundings. Not even a glance. What a mysterious girl.
Shall I call out to her?
"You are Ayanokouji right?"
I heard a familiar beautiful voice call out to me. It WAS Erza. And I here thought should I call out to her or not?
Facing her this time, I said , " Yes...its Ayanokouji Kiyotaka"
"Yes...would you like to move a little bit? I need to take something."
She said while signaling her fingers towards the rack. Without any delay, I moved out of her way.
I did recieved a 'Thank You' from her though. Her eyes are green as a deep forest. And her fragrance is incredibly soothing.
"Do you want to say something?"
I was caught off-guard by her.
"uh..no..not really...but are you really gonna use that cheap moisturizer?'' I tried to change the topic while taking one of those which she was holding.
"I just want to keep my balance up-check. As long as it doesnt have any side effects, its fine." She assured me.
She might be distant and might hold a little coldness in her voice. She is not that cold in person unlike someone. Yes, unlike Horikita. Nor she thinks anyone as low one. I guess that explains how much of a better person she is than her. No offense to Horikita Suzune though. Every person has their own flaws and appreciable values.
"Guess, there is another person like you Ayanokouji, is she your 'new' friend? " Horikita commented , in her usual cold way. I didnt understand if she wanted to taunt me or she considered Erza , one if those 'lowly' creature like others.
"Well-"
Before I could speak I was cut off by none other than Erza Wistaria. She is just as I thought to be.
"It shouldn't concern you, right? What relationship I ought to have with my classmates?" She literally back-fired. But she continued looking at the items in the store. I could sense her words burning with fumes or thought maybe she would ignore at the very least. But here , she was calm and composed. Not even a single frown. Looks like her harsh words didnt affect Erza at all.
" I was not supposed to ask you, rather it was Ayanokouji who I was talking to." Hirokita stopped her movements, at once Erza started talking. Still her face facing the racks.
" About that, I clearly remember you, questioning about my relationship with him, but do you not remember?"
" Honestly, I never thought Ayanokouji would gain any friends. And I was surprised. I dont think any other explanation is necessary."
"It certainly isnt. But, to add up your knowledge, you should definitely stop at looking down at others. Specially someone who you have just met" Erza faced me and narrowed her eyes towards Horikita. Suddenly , holding my hands she continued, " otherwise you wouldn't even notice who might crumble your ego down to pieces" in a very eerily manner.
" Sorry, but I dont intend to change my personality just because of someone and also I don't agree the statement of me looking down and thinking of others as 'low' , Erza Wistaria."
HORIKITA USED 'ERZA WISTARIA'. HER FULL NAME. YES, she is mad.
" To make you remember, it was on 4th period after Ms. Chabashira went out of the class, I happen to overhear your conversation with Ayanokouji saying the words ' They are all foolish and I dont have time to spent on them all day' in other words, it could be defined as , you having extreme self-ego while thinking of yourself as a superior".
She released my hand. I was staring at her all the way. How come she didnt lose composure. Horikita here, on the other hand, is having a hard time. Sure thing that Horikita herself said those words but I couldnt say anything because it didn't concern me of What others think of me.
But the real deal is , I learnt another thing about Erza. She is highly observant of her surroundings. Even if it looks like she doesnt give a crap about it. She proved it right here. Even though, she tried to hide the fact she is 'observant' by saying 'I happen to' . It doesnt change the fact. Atleast to me. I would say she is kind of superior to Horikita.
In a good way, she knows how to put people at a margin.
Erza didnt falter as she continued her final statement.
" Seems familiar to you right, Horikita?"
I noticed her eyes, it looked like she would definitely suck out some soul if anyone made contact with her eyes. Not to mention, that intimidating aura.
Horikita sighed. As she took off her own items from the shop and stated, "They are fools and dont you also think they arent worth your time?"
Looking at the ground and then at Horikita at the eyes she said, " If compared them to you I think you would... definitely be a FOOL. And I like to stay out of negotiations , out of personal reasons. Is that enough to make you satisfied?"
"I am not very pleased with your answer but okay."
" The words were Never really meant to satisfy the likes of you anyway, dont get high expectations."
Horikita didnt answer instead she looked at Erza the first time after all this. With a sigh, she moved on to the counter section.
"Must be a lot , to have a seat mate like her." Erza asked me. While my eyes followed Horikita.
" Well...thats"
"No its fine, I didnt mean any bad. Anyway, I am sorry for putting you in such a humiliating position" She said with a worrying tone in her voice.
" Actually, I do think it was not your fault to begin with. So its fine."
She looked at me for a while and said , "If you say so, I am thankful."
She gave warm small smile. Guaranteed! If any other guy was to be in this position, he would have died by extreme heart palpitations. My heart didnt race though. But I would say I was kind of excited by seeing such sudden reaction from her.
" Excuse me, but I think we should probably go, its going to be dark soon."
Coming my senses, I said 'Yes , sure'
Nor did I made any expression or anything about all the stuffs happened with me on the first day of my School.
"So we have to spent all three years in the school dorm huh?" I tried to catch up a conversation.
I do want to talk with her more. If possible make her my 'friend' .
"Yes...looks like that way. Boys are residing on the second floor right?" She answered, while walking beside me.
" Yea...." I said , after a while I continued, "You know Sakura Airi, right?" as I glanced at her. This is out of topic. What if she thinks I stalk her?
"Hmm.. Yes I do know her. But why her specifically?" She questioned my sudden interrogation.
With my usual unique face I answered, "Well I happen to saw you talking with her...so-" It wasnt really coincidence that I 'Happen' to see her talking though.
After sometime she spoke, "We are....friends"
She had a warm expression on her face. I thought she wasnt the cute type. But she does show This kind of expression occasionally. She is cute.
"Oh...I see.."
After that we didnt speak at all. Maybe she wasnt interested in talking to me. Of course, I am a gloomy person to begin with. But, I just wanted to ask, Why she held my hand that time. Not that it was anything special. But I didnt think she would be the type to do any kind of skinship.
The more I get to know her, the more mysterious she becomes. I wonder what her usual ,real face is like.
After a while, we separated our ways to our respective dorms. She said 'Have a good night' and moved on. I replied the same out of courtesy and got inside my room.
I didnt bother to change my clothes, to begin with, I was quite tired. For a person like me, who avoids Trouble, it was quite a hectic day. From bus to the class and not to mention the supermarket.
I plopped down on my bed with only my body on it and my legs resting outside. I raised my hand and focused my eyes on it. The hand held by Erza.
"I need to know more about you. You are definitely suspicious."
I murmured as I felt myself being dizzy. My hands dropped down and my eyes gave out and I was soon asleep.
