One by one each applicant that had passed the third phase exited the large tower.
"POCKY!" Vera yelled jumping onto pokkle he laughed and just hugged her setting her down.
Her bubbly personality was drawing the attention of the other contestants,
"Vera, you should calm down" Gon nervously chuckled putting a hand on her shoulder.
She nodded turning her attention back to the front of the group.
"Congrats on escaping Everyone" the examiner congratulated before continuing.
"All that remain now are the fourth and final phases"
'Only two more!' Vera's smile widened at the thought of being a hunter.
"The fourth phase will take place over there. At Zevil Island" he pointed behind him to a small island, probably small cause it was far away..
"Now to continue" he snapped hus finger as his eyes were covered due to the glare of the sun.
"He kinda fine doe-" Vera muttered to her self but was quickly kicked in the ankle by Killua "OW OW OW!! That hurts!" She whisper yelled holding her ankle.
He smirked turning his attention to the front once more.
A box was now placed in front of the examiner.
"To begin with, I will need each of you to draw lots." He smiled as everyone murmured amongst themselves.
'Lots?' Vera stayed quiet standing up straight.
"What will that decide?" Pokkle asked a bit too loud.
The examiner lowered his head "...who you hunt. And who hunts you." He smirked "in this box are exactly 24 numbered cards. Which mean" he held up a finger "one of the number of cards will. Match the badge you have on now."
Vera thought for a moment 'then they would be hunting me by my badge..' she swiftly unpinned her badge from her pocket and slipped it into her bag.
That didn't go unnoticed by Gon, so he did the exact same thing without anyone else noticing.
"Now each of you will draw a card in the order you exited the tower." He paused "alright, which of you is first?"
Vera glanced at hisoka before stepping up. Leaving everyone shocked thinking 'she made it first?' Or something idiotic like that.
"Oh, I see your a rookie, you made it out first congratulations" the examiner said with a crazed smile which she joyously returned.
"Sure" was all she said as she grabbed her lot and walked back to her place.
As she walked back her friends noticed the large cut that had been bleeding from her abdomen. She lazily wrapped it up but it was still noticeable.
Next went hisoka, then the weird purple dude, then Hanzo and so on and so fourth.
Everyone held their cards in their hand. "Killua, Vera?" Gon called quietly as their heads turned to him. "Do you think we'll be fighting?"
"Totally!" Killua said nonchalantly placing his hands behind his head and going to grab his card.
As he came back he balanced the lot on his finger and Gon traded places with him going to get his.
And lastly Leorio and Tonpa.
"Has everyone drawn? Very well, we can move ahead. Everyone please remove your sticker revealing who you will be hunting."
Everyone quickly removed their sticker and looked at their cards.
'287.. whos 287..' Vera thought to herself glancing around but noticing everyone had already hidden their tags 'this might be hard..' she sweat dropped but in her mind she really wanted to say 'that's what she said'

On the boat Vera sat by herself trying to figure out who the hell number 287 was.
"So they go here after me.." she thought back to the people who came into the exam after her.
Suddenly realization came over her and she began to break out in a cold sweat "Gitarakuru" she mumbled glancing at the said male. "DAMNIT!!!" she whisper yelled grabbing fistfuls of hair.
She stopped once she saw Killua walking over to Gon and decided to join them.
She sat on the opposite side of Gon so he was in the middle and they sat in silence.
"So.. who's your target" Gon broke the indescribable emptiness of this conversation *happy guitar solo*
"Secret" Killua said not making eye contact but looking up at the clouds.
"Mhm" Vera hummed, checking to see any reactions from them but none so far.
Suddenly they all busted out into laughter "HAHAHAH" Vera WHEEZED as the laughter calmed down.
"Don't worry about it, you guys aren't my target" Vera started.
"Same here" Gon and Killua said together.
"Wanna show numbers at the same time?" She asked as they slowly nodded taking out their cards but flipped so she couldn't see them. She did the same.
"One" Gon started
"Two" Killua
"THREE!" Vera, but this trick ass bitch didn't even show her card.
"HEY NO FAIR!" Gon whined and she flicked his nose.
Killua and Vera tensed at Gon's card "hisoka" the muttered simultaneously.
"You've got seriously bad luck" Killua noted
"You think so?" Gon nervously laughed
They then turned towards Killua's card '199'
"Who's number 199 anyways" Gon asked
"Not sure, hoping one of you guys would know.." Killua admitted "if I just memorized the cards..." he groaned.
"Oh I know who!" Vera piped in and Killua opened his eyes "he's one of the three brothers, cant remember which but I know it's them" she smiled sweetly.
"Hm.." Killua was skeptical but nodded none the less.
Then attention was on Vera who giggled and showed her card. Their eyes widened.
"God! You both have terrible luck!" Killua yelled but Vera quickly shushed him.
"Who's number 297?" Gon asked just making sure he was correct in his theory.
"Gitarakuru" she stated
"How are you two so calm about this?!" Killua groaned again. "Theyre the most dangerous people here! Aren't you scared-" he stopped as he looked to Gon.
Gon seemed to be shaking and sweating but he was smiling mostly..
"Gon.." Vera trailed off
"Are you happy or scared?" Killua smirked facing fully towards the two.
"That's what she said" Vera snorted as killua glared at her.
Gon was hesitant to answer but answered none the less, "both.. I guess. If I had a fight with hisoka 1 on 1 I wouldn't stand a chance against him.. but if all I have to do is steal his bag.. I don't know I think I have a shot" he admitted placing his arms on his knees.
"Of course you do! I believe in you~" Vera smiled placing a hand on his shoulder. He looked at her before smiling again.
"To be honest it's really scary.. but I think it'll be worth it!" Vera clapped and Killua and Gon looked at her.
"I got it" Killua smirked and Gon's smile widened.
"Well let's do our best" Killua stood up followed by Vera.
Gon looked at them confused as the walked off in opposite directions.
"If you fail this phase I'll kill you. Remember that!" Vera yelled as she continued walking
