There exist a great power in this world...
Ancient, mysterious, and forgotten.
It transformed barren and forsaken grounds into steep and majestic mountains, drained oceans, carved wonders across the land like a stick grazing through sand. It covered the world in light, only for it to be siphoned out of the sky under the blanket of darkness.
It was here in the beginning, and it will endure in the end – The Genesis of Life and its Apocalypse. The Genesisium.
Forgotten and lost, but never disappeared. Power dims, but never fades and when there is a gap, like water it flows and fills the cracks in between, so that one day it can call… beckon… whisper… to anyone who will listen.
No matter how long it takes.

Underneath the shade of the great tree Yggdrasil, lies a city covered in perpetual darkness. Lit only by the neon lights of the urban jungle, and the unusual amounts of floating lanterns above the city rooftops. An unfitting sight – an outdated look even, as many of Eden's citizens would tell you, but like the archaic Japanese castle sitting at the base of the tree's roots, and mossy stone steps that covered the shade's alleyways, the people here appreciate the past as they do the future. A brush stroke of old and new architecture painted across the hills of the shade, from the tip of its roots to the top of the mountain. The contrast between the then, now, and tomorrow brings a certain awe and wonder that the citizens of the city under the shade are most proud of.
The people of the city outside the darkness' grasps on the other hand fancy themselves as more avant-garde than the citizens under the shade. The citizens under the sun embraces no such appreciation for ancient designs. Here, the dreams of the people are as high as the skyscrapers that littered every block. Innovation is what drives this part of Eden forward. Ingenuity is a must, because in the eyes of the citizens living outside the reaches of the tree's farthest leaf, there is no magic if there is no technology to enable it.
Divided their ideologies may be, united they are in their belief in magic and the ultimate catalyst that watches over them both: Yggdrasil, the World Tree. No matter where you are, be it under the shade or under the sun, no matter your beliefs, you live and die by the tree. Such is the way of Eden and her citizens, and here is where our story begins.
