"Who am I? Does it really matter? So long as the kid is safe, I doubt you would have any problems with my identity." Neros answered with a serious attitude as he was dismissing the question. He knew that if he were to try and explain the entire situation, it would not only take a while, but he was extremely drained from the previous battle and he didn't have any energy to do any conversations, so he decided to try and end the conversation early and hope that he doesn't try to dig in too deeply.
"I don't know what you are, but you aren't in any position to refuse." Rohan answered with a cold expression that emitted killing intent. Although Neros felt a heavy weight on top of him, he was mostly unfazed before explaining quickly:
"Alright, alright, jeez. I'm just a part of the kid, so no worries there. He just received a shock by brushing to death a bit too closely, so I came out as a protection mechanism of sorts."
"Mechanism? I don't know what kind of fictional stories you have been reading lately, but don't expect me to buy that and say that you are some sort of machine." Rohan answered back as his expression was becoming progressively darker.
"And here I thought I found a sane and normal individual. Who thought that I would have to deal with an idiot." Neros said quietly to himself as he was sighing before answering:
"I'm not talking about that kind of mechanism. Just think of me as a separate part of Soren that protects him. So long as he lives and breathes, I'll be with him to save him from trouble."
Once Neros finished his quick explanation, the two of them entered into a staredown for around a full minute before Rohan sighed as he put down his sword reluctantly and then sheathed it away. Although this entire situation had given all the passerby a quick scare, it didn't take more than a few seconds for everyone to go back to their own business, as if nothing ever happened in the first place.
"Tsk. Didn't expect that bastard to do that to you. When did he even manage to do that?" Rohan complained as he was scratching his head in frustration.
"Around five years ago." Neros answered without giving it a thought.
The moment that answer came out of Neros' mouth, Rohan's brain had stopped working for a minute or two, as he was trying to process the answer that came out of Neros' mouth. After he recovered from his initial shock, Rohan asked anxiously:
"W-Wait. Wait, wait, wait, wait up a minute. What do you mean four years ago? Soren doesn't have more than around two weeks ever since he came here. Although I'm not sure if he had come any earlier than that, I know from the amount of knowledge he possesses for this word, he couldn't have been here for longer than a month or two. So explain what do you mean by four years ago."
"Huh? That is exactly what I mean. He did that to the kid, around four years ago. Or maybe that would be when I awakened and the process of that, had happened way before then." Neros answered with a slightly confused expression.
"But how? We may have World Transfer Magic, but that requires a bit of help from the gods and as far as I know, aside from the 7 main churches that represent the races, there should be no other place that has access to that kind of magic. Let alone him or the Underground Organization."
"Look sir. I don't know much about the affairs of the organizations, the factions or anything that contains politics, but I don't know much else, aside from the basics of the world and a bit of the process for the creation of an attendant of the seven sins, so I doubt I would be of any help with that."
"I know, I know. I also know a few of the specifics for that, but that won't help me with the question of how that guy managed to go into another world." Rohan sighed with a dejected expression as he shook his head.
"Unless Heiran decides to show up all by himself, then we are only sitting ducks." Neros added dejectedly as he shook his head as well. After that, the duo sighed at the same time as they were looking upwards and before long, Rohan asked:
"Say, how come you are still here?"
"Huh? What do you mean? Am I supposed to be somewhere?" Neros asked with a confused expression.
"Well no, technically Soren had to go somewhere today, but how come you haven't gone into your resting form, like the other attendants?" Rohan asked back with similar expression.
"Oh, that's what you mean. I'll probably go away after a few hours, I think. Unless he somehow loses his own rationality, I doubt I will come back. Until then though, I want to see the city a bit. I haven't had any opportunities to explore the world at all, so this is a much needed opportunity to see as much as possible." Neros answered with an enlightened expression before he put a mischievous smile on his face.
*Sigh* 'I guess, even with an attendant of Wrath inside him, he still keeps an upbeat personality.' Rohan sighed to himself as he had those thoughts in his head.
As he was having those thoughts though, he suddenly thought of something weird about Neros. He knew that when one was an attendant of the seven sins, their personality would change in correspondence to the sin they have chosen, such as greed making someone into a miser and a money collector, sloth would make someone lazier and apathetic and pride would someone more brazen and arrogant, but when he saw Neros, who was supposed to be an attendant of wrath, acting like a child who hadn't seen the world, he was feeling rather uncomfortable, as if some law of nature that was a given to happen in one way, now had in another way.
Unfortunately, as he was deep in his thoughts, he saw that Neros had completely disappeared from the area, so he frantically started searching for him, only to find him near a skewer stand as he was eating happily a couple of meat skewers.
"I think I'll retract that thought for now. If I let this guy out of my eyes, I swear that he could start some really troublesome problems. I think I should keep an eye out for him, at least for today." Rohan mumbled to himself as he was rubbing his head from his ensuing headache.
After that, the duo then swam around the town for the next few hours and very soon, they would have to go on their separate way, but before doing so, the two of them stopped by Rohan's house and then wrote two letters and put them in an envelope before sealing it and Neros taking it.
"Pass that message to Soren tomorrow or as early as possible. I know I won't be able to keep an eye out for him for quite a while, so do keep an eye out in my place." Rohan said Neros with a soft smile as he put on a leather coat on and locked the door behind him.
"I know. I know. Don't worry, I can handle that much." Neros answered back nonchalantly as he was smirking. After that, Rohan started swimming away slowly before asking seriously without turning back:
"Do you think he will be okay with you?"
Neros thought for a few seconds for his response, before saying:
"Ehhh... It will take some time for him to accept me, but we'll manage. After all, that kid had gotten himself into worse trouble that this."
