*munch* *munch* *munch*
Right now, the three of them were eating meat kebabs from one of the food stands in Crystaline Plaza and after sitting down, Laventhign was the first to speak and ask:
"Alright Soren, tell what do want to do. You don't like the kind of guy that would do something such as this."
"Well..."
'Yup, this is definitely her.' Soren thought to himself while feeling Laventhign's pressure. Soren wondered why no one was going to stop her, but the thing he didn't know was that, even though there were people around who were watching, no one seemed to find it suspicious since they were aware of Lavena's temperament and her usual behavior with her acquaintances.
"So, why don't you start talking Soren? What do you want?" Laventhign asked with a furious look while pinning Soren on the wall.
"C-Can we talk s-somewhere more quiet?" Soren asked nervously while hoping for either someone to help him or her calming down.
"Oh. Good call." Laventhign then stopped pinning Soren on the wall and the wave of pressure that came out of her, died down. After that, the three of them went into one of the nearby back alleys.
"Alright, speak. What do you want?" Laventhign asked first when they reached the back alley.
"Before I ask, mind if I ask something?" Soren asked slightly nervously.
"Speak." Laventhign answered with an emotionless expression.
"Why are you performing in the middle of the street with a dancer outfit and how come no one knows who you really are?" Soren decided to take the initiative on the conversation while he still had the chance.
"It's me spending my free time however I want. As you-know-who, I spend quite a lot of time managing the place, from dealing with requests from others, managing the logistics or participating in the sermons, but whenever my services are not required, I am required to wait in my post for whatever emergency is out there. While I wait though, I don't have anything to do, aside from patrolling the grounds or having all my underlings talk all respectful and fearful, when I just want to do some small talk. In the end, I decided to pretty much leave my post incognito and laze around whenever my services are not required."
"I-I see... So, uhhh... So what happens when an emergency comes and your are not there?" Soren asked while looking at Laventhign suspiciously.
"Easy. Just open a portal back in my room and no one will notice. Well, except from Toby. He's really the only one who knows of my antics and usually he just gives me a call for when the situation's about to hit the fan." Laventhign explained with a casual expression.
'Is... Is she serious? She thinks that leaving from your post is a good idea? And what the hell is that guy thinking, letting her be loose like this?' Soren's mind was going berserk with all kinds of thoughts of wondering if her way of working was morally correct. After a bit of thinking, he gave up in the end, since it was impossible to control the boss or they way of doing work. If they completed their obligations, then anything else is nonexistent for them. This way of doing things didn't sit right with Soren, but he couldn't just speak his mind and start arguing about it, so he had to swallow his thoughts and emotions and move to another topic.
"Then it's safe to assume Toby is aware of the fact that you are not in your post?" Soren asked seriously.
"More or less." Laventhign answered as she shrugged.
"Are you satisfied with your questions?" Laventhign then asked with a serious expression.
"More or less." Soren answered calmly.
"Now, explain what you want and be quick, I'm rather hungry and I'm not into long talks right now." Laventhign spoke seriously while crossing her arms.
"Well... I want to know if it's possible train someone." Soren answered slightly nervous while rubbing his neck a bit.
"Seriously, that's what you want to ask?" Laventhign was eyeing Soren while being slightly suspicous of him.
"So...? Is it possible?" Soren asked nervously.
*sigh* "Who is it?" Laventhign asked reluctantly while rubbing her forehead.
"Well..." At that moment, Soren pointed towards Lavenza with his thumb while throwing a nervous smile. Lavenza on the other hand was rather confused with the meaning of the gesture.
"Are you serious?" Laventhign asked while she was staring him with a look of suspicion.
"Umm... More or less?" Soren answered nervously as he shrugged his arms.
*sigh* "I need to eat. I can't really get working when I'm out of fuel. Let's go." Laventhign said suddenly as she signalled Soren and Lavenza to follow along.
-Present Time-
"Well... Very soon I'll be starting training session in the guild, but during this time, Lavenza is pretty much just going to be watching me swinging a weapon ten thousand times or me duking it out with the teacher as a way to gain combat experience. Because I know that she will get bored and probably waste her time while seeing me train, I decided that she should learn magic so she doesn't fall behind and the first person that came into my mind for a magic teacher was you." Soren explained as he munched on one of the kebabs. In reality, Soren hadn't planned to get a magic teacher this early, but considering how he had the chance to talk with her, he decided to take care of that little task a bit earlier.
"Hmm... Look, I may be strong and have mastery over my own elements, but even after 500 years, I still don't have any teaching experience. Besides, I don't know really what the standards for a student should be or what to teach, so you are really putting me between a rock and a hard place." Laventhign looked away as she explained.
"Look, I don't want you to go teach her every little spell that you know. I don't have any teaching experience as well, but I, at least, know that everything starts with basics. So why don't you start with that? at least teach her the basic stuff and if you are feeling confident, maybe you can try some of the harder spells. And of course, no pressure. I don't think you would want to her into a milita-" Just as Soren was going to finish his explanation, Laventhign suddenly put her hand on his mouth to shut him and up and said angrily:
"Don't even think about finishing that sentence. Are we clear?"
"Chihhal." Soren spoke nervously while his mouth was being covered. After his answer, Laventhign took her hand off his mouth and started thinking for a bit.
*burp* A light burp was heard from Lavenza who finished eating her kebab and Soren let out a small chuckle come out of him.
"Did you overeat Lavenza?" Soren asked with rubbing her head with a smile on his face. He just couldn't get enough of Lavenza's cuteness, so whenever she did something cute, even by accident, he would feel happy for a decent amount of time.
After a bit of time, Laventhign asked seriously:
"Does she mind learning under my tutelage?"
Lavenza shook her head. She didn't really have a reason refuse this and she felt like she could trust Laventhign.
"Hmm... I see." Laventhign nodded and then continued.
"Classes will start in 3 days, as of today. Come at 12, no sooner, no later. Take this card as well. It has my contact information in case you want to speak through the phone for any changes or anything of concern about the classes or Lavenza." At that moment, Laventhign gave an azure card with big white letters that said:
[Songstress of the depths: Lavena Arkhearts
Available: 2nd-12th, 15th-28th
XXX-XX-XXXXXX]
"I see, thank you." Soren answered happily.
"Now go. I should probably get ready for my next show." Laventhign signalled the two of them to leave as she fixing her hair a bit.
"Oh. I see. Take care miss Lavena."
"Kyuu~!" Both Soren and Lavenza said their goodbyes and then left the plaza. As they were leaving the plaza, Laventhign was staring at them with a satisfied expression before she put on a serious expression and took out a phone. After pressing a few numbers, she put the phone on her ear and waited for an answer.
In the meantime, in one of the offices in the Sea God's Temple, there was a lone merman who was writing a few reports, when suddenly his phone rang.
"Miss?" Toby, who was the one working in the office, was the first to speak.
...
"Huh?"
...
"Wait, what!?"
...
"Are you serious!?"
...
"But-"
...
"Alright, let me write that down at least." Toby then started to write down a list as he was rubbing his forehead with an annoyed expression.
"Anything else?"
...
"Understood. Farewell." At that moment, Toby put his phone down and sighed as he looked with a frown at the list of the things he had to write down and take care of.
"This woman will be the end of me, one of these days, but I can't say that she doesn't spice things up with her unreasonable requests." Toby spoke to himself while looking upwards towards the ceiling before letting out a tired chuckle.
