"So, how about we get started, little boy?" Diana aksed with a mocking and happy expression.
"G-Get started with what?" Soren asked nervously.
"Explanations, of course." She answered back in a similar fashion.
'Honestly, if you are going to force me to speak, you might as well have kidnapped me.' Soren thought to himself before speaking:
"So, how will this work out?"
"It's pretty simple. We will play a game of Truth or Lies. Don't expect to be your normal Truth or Lies, this version of that game is bit more fun, in my opinion." Diana answered back with a happy and menacing expression.
"In what... kind of why is it going to be "fun"?" Soren asked nervously.
"Normally, whenever this game is played, the punishment is usually just a slap on the wrist, but for this one, I decided to raise the stakes a bit, by making the punishment a little bit more severe." Diana explained with a serious expression.
"How severe...?"
"You'll find out soon enough." At that moment, she smirked in a menacing matter.
Soren was nervous because, now he was in a situation where he is going to be forced to say , at least something that he is hiding. Without any alternatives, he could only pray that his bluffs could work.
"So, how is this game played?" Soren decided to ask for clarification.
"It's simple. One of us asks a question to the other and the other has to determine whether the answer was the truth or a lie. If you are correct, you get a point, otherwise your opponent gets the point and the one who reaches 5 points first wins, while the loser has to take the punishment, depending on the difference of the scores. Almost forgot, but we will need to wear these bracelets as well, since these things can easily detect even the slightest of changes in our bodies, hence these will be our lie detectors." Diana explained while she took out a couple of bracelets. After the two of them put on their bracelets, the game began.
"So, who will go first?" Soren asked seriously.
"I will let you do the honors of you asking a question." Diana answered back with a smiling face.
"What is your actual full name?" Soren asked with a serious expression after think for a bit.
"It is Diana Longinus." Diana answered back without hesitation.
"Lie." Soren answered back without hesitation as well. At that moment, a upside-down V appeared on Soren's hand.
"The first point is yours. You should have no problem playing this game now." Diana said in a casual manner.
"Aren't you going to say what your name is?" Soren asked.
"It is not needed to tell the truth behind the lie, just finding the fact that is a lie, is more than enough. It is my turn now." Diana explained with a serious and menacing expression.
"What is your most powerful move?" Diana asked without hesitation.
"Sword Arts: Seal Cutter." Soren answered back.
"Hmmm... It is a lie." Diana answered before she got an upside-down V on her hand as well.
"My win."
"I gues it counts doubts as well." Soren said slightly dejected. He wasn't sure if it would count it or not, since he definitely had a more powerful ability,Sowrd Aura, but he couldn't control it, hence he didn't count it as a valid answer.
"I guess it's my turn now." Soren said with a serious expression.
"How many daughters do you have?"
"Two."
"Hmm... Lie." Soren said after thinking about it for a bit. This kind of question was definitely kind of a gamble, since he didn't know actually how mant daughters she had, but he hoped that she would lie with confidence. Unfortunately, another V appeared on Diana's hand.
"My point. Now it's my turn." She said with a smile.
"What kind of monster is your little pet?"
"... She's a Sea Snake." Soren lied through his teeth this time.
"Hmmm... That is... A lie as well." After Diana said that with a bit of hesitation, she gained another point.
"Three to one. You don't want to be left behind now." Diana spoke sarcastically. Now Soren was feeling pressured because now the score looked like it was going for her favor, but he kept his cool and decided to ask his question:
"What is your current age?"
This time, Soren hoped that this rude question would force her to answer with a lie."
"... 43 years old. I'm currently 43 years old." Diana answered after she paused for a moment.
"Lie." At that moment, another point was given to Diana, making the score four to one. Soren was suprised this time. He hoped that this rude question would force her to lie, since asking a woman's age was a total taboo for men. Unfortunately, his plan sinked and gave her another point.
"That was rude kid. Don't make me answer these kinds of questions." She said angrily.
"Like you are the one speak." Soren retorted back with an angry expression as well.
"Anyways, time for your last question kid. What are is your highest affinity?" Diana asked with a smirk on her face.
'Just ask me all of my deep dark secrets as well, while you are it.' Soren thought to himself as he stared at Diana with hate. This time, he would make sure to give her a nasty suprise that she wouldn't forget.
"Water and darkness."
"Obvious lie." Diana answered, but this time, Soren got a point and gave himself a bit of breathing room. Diana was shocked however by this situation, she couldn't believe that there was someone who had 2 elements at the same level of affinity. Of course, she would never be able to even imagine the fact Soren actually had to maximum affinities.
"My turn to ask miss." Soren spoke with a smile on his face. He needed to make sure that he could get another sure-fire point, so he thought for a moment before he smiled and asked with a smug expression:
"What is the title of the most recently read book that your daughter has read?"
Diana was suprised by this kind of question, since this was a question that Soren was never meant to ask, due to the fact that he wouldn't even know that.
'Kana.' She thought to herself while trying to hide her anger under an emotionless mask and after thinking for a bit. In the end, she put her hand behind her and answered:
"Opera's Journal."
"False." At that moment, Soren felt weird for a moment, but after that weird feeling passed, another V appeared, but it was in Diana's hand.
"But how? Wasn't it The Prince's Nightlight?"" Soren asked in shock. He was sure that this was the right answer, due to the fact that the blue-haired girl had said left book.
"No, it was the Opera's Journal, a famous love story about an extraordinary musician from a fallen family who faced many trials and tribulations and met her dream lover and lived happily ever after." As Diana was explaining, the Vs on Soren's hand had disappeared.
"Well, you have lost the game of Truth and Lie by a three-point margin." Diana explained with a calm and smiling expression.
"So I'll have to face your punishment three times, am I right?" Soren asked with a dark look in his eyes.
"Of course. As for what your punishment will be, it will be you answering fully and truthfully three questions, regardless of how private or embarassing are to you." Diana spoke with a happy and menacing tone.
"And if I lie-" Just as Soren was going to ask, an intense bolt of lighting appeared out of nowhere and truck the empty seat next to him, completely charring it.
"So, are we clear?"
"C-Crystal." Soren said nervously.
"For starters, who are you?" Diana asked with a serious expression.
"I am Soren. I'm a rank F adventurer and I'm Lavenza's caretaker and guardian." Soren asked while closing his eyes a bit. He didn't like the fact that he had to spill the beans like this. He knew that he wouldn't be able to hide it forever, but having to let it out like this, this was an extremely unpleasant feeling for him.
"Next, who are your parents?"
"My mother's name is Maria and she is a housewife, while my faher's name is Carlos and he is a travelling businessman who does a lot of trips around the world." Soren answered truthfully. This question wasn't as bad, because Soren knew that nothing would happen to them, even if the entire world knew about them.
"Alright. Last question, where did you come from?" Diana asked with a serious expression.
At that moment, Soren's body froze completely from the question he was the most afraid of. That question obviously would force him to reveal the fact that he came from another world and if that fact came to light, he wouldn't be able to even imagine the consequences of that action. Unfortunately, it truly was the worst case scenario for him, so the only thing he could do was to swallow his fear, steel his resolve like he had never steeled it before and spoke nervously:
"I'm... I'm fro-om... I'm from"
"Just answer already." Diana spoke angrily due to Soren's stalling.
"I'm from another world. There, are you happy now?" Soren then said the truth quickly and angrily before crossing his arms in a swift motion and then looking away from her.
"Huh?" Diana's brain stopped functioning for a moment after she heard that and asked again, albeit nervously this time:
"W-Wait, can you r-repeat t-that again?"
"I'm from another world. I'm from another world. I'm from another world. Do you wnat me to write it down as well and make even a picture out of it?" Soren spoke furiously.
At that moment, Diana had completely stopped thinking, before she fainted, or rather the homunculus just fell like a log.
At that moment, Soren was completely taken aback from this situation and said in disbelief:
"Can this mess get any worse?"
"Kyuu~." Lavenza answered emotionlessly while she shrugged, after seeing this bizarre situation.
