"In just a month thirty villages were raided by this Cult. And several of our own mages where either missing or killed by this group. Can we still consider them as a mere troublemaker?"
"My intelligence says that they grew in numbers each day. We expected that by the end of the year, they have a strength of a thousand men."
"I believe that now is the time to involve the Light Bearers."
"Not yet Lord Karion. I agree that we can no longer ignore this threat, But I do not agree that this is a matter that needs the Light Bearers to be involved. So that in mind, I've set a trap on village near the borders of Brethlia and Brellia, I've sent Elite mages that investigated those Cult for a long time now, So they should be enough."
Twelve individuals argued in a large circular room. Each of them is standing in their own balcony. Those individuals were members of the council that governs the mages of the dawn order. They wore a gold and blue robes. One of the individuals name is Karion.
Karion and a few others have been wary of the Cultist from the very beginning. He believed that the raids of villages were just a feint. After all it was weird that this cultist group were are abducting villagers that is known to posses an elemental gift, And the mages with great elemental might was not killed but missing, Karion believed that they too were abducted.
Not long, A fairy appeared in middle. The hall were silent. They recognized the fairy before them.
'Isn't that a fairy of Balthazar?'
"Greetings Lady Aurora, What news from Sir Balthazar?" One of the members of the council, Lady Ednalynn Asked.
The Fairy's size grew into that of a full grown woman. She wore a green dress and a short skirt, The color of her hair is that of a rainbow and every time her wings flaps, It produces a sparkle of light.
The fairy bowed gracefully, Her right hand resting on her chest and the other held on to her skirt.
"Greetings to all of you, Balthazar sent me here to give a you a message concerning the cultist"
A small parchment appeared on the fairy's hand, She then use magic to hand it over to Ednalynn.
"At this very moment, Fifteen villagers were raided at the same time. Balthazar came to help the village on the eastern regions of the borders of Brethlia and Brellia."
"That Village? What of my mages there?" The one who approved of the trap and sent the mages there, Lord Udwind asked.
"The moment we arrive, there was already a lot of dead mages but no battle occurred. It was a one sided massacre"
This greatly shocked Udwind, After all he sent a very special person on that mission.
"How can it be, I sent an Elite force of mages in there, Even if those cultist do overpowered them, It wont be a one sided massacre"
"That is true, But the cultist used Nullifying magic powered by necromancy and foul magic."
The hall was filled with whispers and chatter among each individuals.
"Foul magic? what kind?" Asked Karion.
"Forgive me I don't know that yet. Balthazar said that he will give you the full details soon"
"Thank you lady Aurora"
"Then, I must take my leave." Aurora Bowed again and not long after, She disappeared.
The discussion of the council continued for another hours to come, Karion Feel exhausted after arguing for many hours but still could not come into conclusion.
Then The large door at entrance of the council halls opened. There a man wearing a white full plate armor entered the halls and knelt in the center.
This man is the High Paladin of the order.
"Forgive my sudden intrusion but I have an important matter at hand"
"Forgiven, Now speak High Paladin Kelinor"
This confused most of the members of the council, From what they know Kelinor's orders were to discuss a serious military business at Brellia. 'Did something happened during that time?'
"First, Allow me to show this to you by the request of Sir Balthazar." Kelinor opened the metal that he was holding and showed the object within.
Shocked by the content of the box, The halls were filled with chattering once more.
"Where did Sir Balthazar got this?"
"It was worn by one the cultist that Sir Balthazar captured" Kelinor explained, But he still had no idea what this ring is that made the council had this kind of reaction. So he asked "Can I ask what this object is that made you all so wary?".
"That ring High Paladin is an artifact of Valeria, And for it to be at the hands of the enemy. Lord Udwind, I believe that this is more than enough evidence that those cultist are a serious threat to Vreyane."
"So be it. Call upon Marion, Aiken, and Joianne. We will put an End to this cult"
