Free De La Hoya has everything, doesn't he?
No. 1 in blading
The perfect team
People who care
The whole world under his feet
The ability to do whatever he wants
So on, and so forth. And because of that, he should be happy...
Right?
So why isn't he?
Everyone's seen that look on his face. The distant look in his eyes, and the sadness that seems to overwhelm him every single day.
He's not a normal kid, it is easily detectable. He works so hard to be someone he's not.
He just wanted to know that he was worth something, you know? Something worth remembering. So he did what thought that he had to, in hope that one day, he would get noticed by someone. Anyone. He just wanted to matter. And if that meant going to the top, he was prepared to take any means necessary. But, he's starting to regret his decision. And not just that one. All of them.
Free's fighting his inner demons
He's fighting that inner war
Not knowing what's right or wrong
Asking himself, "how much more?"
How many more endless questions?
How many more sleepless lights?
How much more can he take,
Of life and it's ongoing fight?
He's trying to heal his pain
Somehow he can break the broken
People come but never stay
No one listens to what he's spoken
Love? It's fake
Trust? It's broken
Safety? Not all evil is physical
Hope? Destroyed
It's gone and fled away
He has nothing left to his name,
But the scars that always stay
He is no longer a golden boy but a man who has lost all sense of purpose, a man who can no longer cry out for help.
Who is Free De La Hoya? What is his purpose? Why does he continue to live? Why does he continue to dream?
Hope.
That's why.
Because he still continues to hope that
Some day
Somehow
Some way
Someone will be able to make him feel better
