I sat down on the available seat across from the unknown woman. "I only have a few minutes, so what is this all about?" I said, direct to the point. I did not want to waste more time than necessary with this woman.
The middle-aged woman remained quiet the entire time. I did notice that she kept glancing in my direction while they were talking earlier even before they requested for me. I was not sure why, but her blue eyes were unnerving.
Elena smiled, but I could tell that it was far from genuine. Her eyes as she assessed me were up to no good. "I would like to introduce you to my future mother-in-law. She was curious about you and wanted to meet you." Gesturing to the woman at her side.
She was talking in riddles. Why would I need to know her and why would she be interested to meet me? Maybe she bumped her head on a wall because she was talking nonsense.
