I knew what I said before. I claimed that I would fight to make this relationship work unless Nathan gave up on us first. However, thinking of his mother's words, I started questioning my reason for keeping him at my side.
At this point, I came up with a decision. I should end this relationship with Nathan as soon as possible. There was no point in prolonging the inevitable as Nathan once said. I had to face it. I would eventually have to let him go.
If he lost the company he had worked hard his entire life, then he would ultimately hate me for it. There was no winning for me either way.
"Ready to go." Nathan stood by the door as he waited for me.
I grabbed my bag from the table and walked to his side. "Yeah. Where are we going?"
"Downtown. Want to show you the other side of this place." He clutched my hand in his and guided me towards his car.
