Chapter 13 - Chapter 12: A Tactical Recuitment

The groups footsteps echoed across the metallic floor as the lights flickered above them. This section of the base seemed to have lost power, but a faint blue light led them to a room with a portal gateway. Bill floated up to the control panel above them. Within the small room was a panel with numbers and numerous buttons but what appeared to be a hand scanner as well.

Without thinking, Bill put his hand on the scanner, and began to see swirls of colour that slowly morphed into many galaxies, each labeled with a number. He searched through them and found one that was supposedly active, presumably the portals destination.

Meanwhile, Sarah's eyes were drawn to a faded advertising poster on the wall, with claw marks crossing out a section of it.

It advertised an army of sorts called The Imperials, advertising the promise of order across the galaxy.

Nick And Rascal found nothing of interest, and the group shared their findings.

"I found a poster about a recruitment for a war, most of it was clawed out, but I found some coordinates I think, K-18," Sarah sighs.

Bill leaned against a wall and spoke his suspicion.

"That's where the portal is going, it's been active for only 30 minutes according to the control panel, yet apparently your the only one left of the species,"

The monitor abruptly interjects in the conversation.

"I activated it for you, this is where you need to go to not only learn vital skills, but find another ally, Sarah you must go there, the rest must remain here and provide support from the outside,"

Nick laughs sarcastically.

"Oh sure yeah, let the biggest target of an army go alone, BRILLIANT! NO! You think we are letting her go alone after the shit that went down in Boston Common?! You must be out of your goddamn mind!"

"No, the army can only track her if she's been in a universe for over 1 month, their tech is accurate but slow, because you have entered here, she can't be tracked for another 4 months once she leaves, but I'll leave the plan up to you,"

With that the monitor closes the portal, and the group stood in silence before leaving the room.

'Its really my choice,' Sarah thought as they found the Sleeping quarters. They all went to bed but Sarah couldn't stop thinking strategies for what may happen next.

She was fighting a war, and war like chess, requires thinking 100 steps ahead.
