Chereads / A world far from hell / Chapter 3 - Sparring

Chapter 3 - Sparring

it's been a month since I reincarnated back into my body. My mana has been growing continuously and the amount is larger than the teachers. While I can prevent it from leaking out, it's been harder to do so. So I've been condensing my mana to the size of an average student. I probably need to create larger storage of mana that infinitely stores it. But I'm still not strong enough to do that. I should focus on condensing my mana first.

"There will be a competition in the next two months and we'll be doing a test to determine if you are qualified enough to participate. All of you should be focusing your strength during those two months." The announcement snapped me out of my daze.

A competition, it's the annual competition for students that is a part to decide their worth.

It is a five versus five match and you were assigned to appropriate teams for your class. I've never had a chance to participate in these events back in my past life so I'm curious what it is like to fight in one.

"We will be testing you in the afternoon so be ready, I'm leaving now." The teacher announced.

The class is already filled with murmurs and people are going to their desired groups for the test.

-Sparring Area-

We went to the sparring area to have a duel while the teachers decide our groups.

I watched their performance and I can say that it's still the same before.

"Next, Kurtz Feier vs Jeanne Kreshyl"

The class was perplexed by hearing my name in the participation. Some were laughing, curious and most of them are waiting for my humiliation. Just like what I wanted, I want to surprise them.

"Tough luck, it's Jeanne, the top student in his class."

"Yeah, he's already living a quiet life, yet he still wants humiliation?"

"Just let him be, it's got nothing to do with us."

The whispers and murmurs about me are already showing. Jeanne's face was showing disappointment, she's already planning to end this quickly.

While she didn't do anything to me in my past life, I'm not holding back just because she's innocent. It's got nothing to do with how she views me or whatever. But she is an important part of my plan. Using her, I'll attract the attention of the bullies.

I stood on the stage and warmed myself up. Jeanne is a mage with a two-element attribute, earth and wind. Her skill was also befitting of a top of the class, not just her innate talent. I plan on using spells just like her but my mana density will amplify the damage of my spells so I'll only augment myself with mana and use martial arts.

"Let's end this quickly without any form of humiliation, I've got things to do."

"Yes, ma'am," I answered with low self-esteem act. I picked up a sword and stanced myself.

"Ready... SPAR!"

She conjured a rock projectile and launched it at me.

It was a basic spell that still made me struggle in my past life. She's underestimating me, but it's understandable since she knows that I'm weak.

Swoosh*

I aigmented myself with mana, increasing my agility and strength. I charged towards her in a flash, catching her off guard, I didn't give her time to conjure her next attack. I slashed my sword at full force.

"Ugh!"

While she did block my attack by instinct, it shocked her enough to rise her adrenaline. She leaped backward by 5 meters using her magic. She conjured her next attack and pointed her wand towards me, accumulating mana on one point.

{Rock Magic - Scatter shot}

By creating pressure with her wind attribute and combining it with eartg magic, she fired it at me like a bullet.

It was slower than an average bullet however it was fast enough to be seen by the naked eye. While the distance is short, her aim is obvious so I dodged her attack.

I charged at her with low stance and slashed my sword upwards, targeting her right arm where she was holding her hand. She stubled back, trying to balance herself while enduring the pain.

"Kuh! Argh!"

I thrusted my sword as a finshing blow towards her.

"STOP!"

I immedietly stopped and pulled back.

"The winner of ths spar, Kurtz Feier!" The teacher interfered.

"What?!"

"He won?!"

"And it isn't by fluke!"

The murmurs of students in shock and conversing about the situation.

"Kurtz Feier, I'll assign you to your team later." The teacher said.

"Yes"

I walked out of the atage, the audience was shocked by the reault of the battle.

"Now, let's see you come out, you scumbags." I grinned wickedly.
