The tree club came at them so fast from over their heads that the top broke off mid swing and toppled through the air to land near where Evren dove to. Dayzze went the opposite direction from Evren and began to circle around the large demon, and the hounds went one in each direction. The hounds dashed forwards to bite and claw at the legs of the demon, but they were not doing much damage.
Instead of pulling the tree club back up over its head, the demon took a step forward and swung to the outside towards Evren. Evren jumped and flipped sideways, scraping his boots and sword across the bark and causing him to fail the landing. He looked up in time to see a gray shadow pass over him as Dayzze attacked the demon's wrist. As she tore and clawed at it with her fangs and claws, mostly not doing any damage at all.
