The town of Mani was small. Most of its resources come from across the lake at Chehari. As Evren approached, he found it to be empty as well. There were no boats or ferries left to use to travel across the river and it made Evren wonder if everyone evacuated to Chehari. He cast 'monocle' to see on the other side of the lake, but he couldn't find any movement there either. He shifted his focus to the north where the falls were, and then upwards to the cliff that seemed to be hidden in the clouds. There he could barely make out the tower that stood upon the cliff.
He looked upstream and along the western shore to the south before dispelling 'monocle.' He saw no signs of villagers nor Grandia's forces. He turned to Dayzze on his shoulder and said, 'Let's go upstream a ways until we find a thin or shallow area so we could cross the river.'
Dayzze said, 'We could swim from here. Or can you not swim?'
