A shadow moved through the darkness of the alleys with an eerie silence. The sky was overcast, so even shadows were hidden in the nightscape. As the shadow moved through the darkness, it came upon a man who was standing on a corner as a look out. As the man turned his head to look in another direction, he backed up into the darkness more and disappeared. He never returned to his previous location.
A man across the way from him had not noticed his disappearance, as he was watching in a different direction. However, as he glanced in his direction, he noticed the man was missing, only moments before he became missing as well.
The building the two men were guarding was the location of a low-level crime boss. While he was low-level, his resume was one of the most accomplished of all the criminals in town. The only reason he wasn't the main boss of Arcadia was because he liked getting his hands dirty too much and wasn't much of the leadership type.
