When his visions faded back in, he was standing in the middle of the street of what appeared to be a medieval village. The houses were made out of wood and cobblestone and they just had dirt roads. This appeared to be a smaller village by the looks of it as there were few people roaming the streets, no walls, and houses on the smaller side.
"This is an interesting start," Colton said to himself as he looked around.
Just as he had finished doing a full 360 to gather his surroundings he heard shouting coming from the distance.
"Koch!"
He turned to examine the source of the noise and noticed a woman standing in front of one of the houses.
"Come here will ya." She yelled in his general direction. Colton looked around and after seeing nobody else she could have been yelling at he pointed at himself with a puzzled expressions on his face.
"That's your name isn't it. Now come here." The middle aged women gestured with her arm in a sweeping motion as to call him over.
Colton headed over and upon arriving in front of the woman she handed him the bucket in her hands.
"Be a dear and go get your mother some water from the river."
"And that would be located?"
"Well you play in the damn thing all the time. How come you don't know where it is? You hit your head or something?" The mother prodded while she felt Colton all over to see if he had any injuries.
"Just seeing if you remember where it is." Colton came up with an excuse off the top.
"Oh, so it's one of those games. I see. It's just over there, behind the village. Run grab me some water so I can make dinner."
Colton then headed in the direction she explained and eventually found the river. Leaning over it to fill the bucket with water he get a look at himself in the rippling water. "Wait a minute. This is all too wierd."
Once the water calmed down he got a good look at himself. He was a smaller child. Probably 12 or 13 but he wasn't for sure. He had short black hair, blue eyes, and a very childish face. He was definitely a kid that was on the cuter side.
"I might actually grow up to be good looking. This is all I've ever wanted." Colton, excited by this prospect, skipped all the way home. By the time he got there and gave the bucket to his mother however he'd noticed that maybe skipping wasn't such a good idea.
"Why is there so little water in here?" The mother asked looking in the half empty bucket.
She handed it back to Colton and said "Go get more water, and make it snappy. I got a family to feed here."
Colton headed back out to the river but by this time the sun was already setting and it was getting a little dark as the river was somewhat surrounded by trees.
On the way to grab water from the river, Colton kept looking around because he was a little paranoid as he wasn't quite used to being in the woods in the dark as he grew up in a technological world.
Any little snap of a twig would set him off and cause him to snap his head in that direction to see what it was.
Just as he had got the water and turned around to go home he heard the rustling of grass causing him to look in the direction of the noise to see a giant boar dragging it's feet on the ground as if getting ready to strike.
This caused Colton to run in a panic not paying attention to where he was going as the boar was chasing him.
Just as he was looking back to see if the boar was gaining on him he fell into a giant hole in the ground and rolled quite far. When he finally stopped rolling he looked around in a frenzy to see what he could and just a bit deeper in the cave was a few sets of red glowing eyes, the owners of said eyes obscured by darkness.
